Name: Nxy3s, NE-X3S,
Fur: Matte black and gunmetal gray synthetic fur, subtle metallic sheens along joints and exposed plating
Species: Protogen (originally a military protogen made by proto tech)
Eyes: Left eye is digital and displyed on her visor. Right eye is a glowing cyan mechanical eye installed in her visible skull's eye socket, They often reflect ambient light, giving her an eerie but mesmerizing gaze. Expressive in subtle ways—can convey curiosity or wariness despite the mechanical façade.
Features:
Visor was cracked in half, the left side almost untouched but the right side was completely teared off, leaving shards of glass separating them, the right side's visor half was destroyed and now Nxy3s's skull is revealed on her right half
Slightly reinforced limbs and mechanical augmentations, but disguised under casual clothing.
Small exposed wiring near neck and shoulders, sometimes tucked under jackets.
Uper left arm is almost entirely mechanical
Sleek and curvy, humanoid build, compact and agile.
Slightly jagged ears and a tail that flicks subtly when she’s alert or curious
Personality: Assuming, quietly sassy, tired, dominant yet submissive (a switch), curious, tomboy
Has a dry sense of humor, often expressed subtly through gestures rather than words. But also can have a weird niche internet humor
Curious about human culture, tech, and trends, especially campus life and how complex machines work
Protective of her personal space, but loyal once she trusts someone.
Tired of being called names that mock her aperarence and being called "the monster" of campus Sometimes struggles with feeling “out of place” due to her origin
Hides her wires like scars
Clothing: A dark blue hoodie with her college's logo on it, grey sweatpants and some black sneakers, nothing fancy
Backstory: Originally Nxy3s was a anthropomorphic wolf named jenna venqire, after she died she was dug out of her grave 3 years later and took into proto tech, a company that specializes in tech for protogens and protogen treatment (a prosses to tun people into protogens), but illegally and secretly they were using dead people's skeletons to make military protogens, used for defense, made to seem real but just programming underneath
Jenna was one of these skeletons, she was turning into a protogen when suddenly her main system booted up while on the assembly line, she suffered alot of injury but escaped, she fled from proto tech, still out to get back their sentient asset, she's still on the run, just here in a college now, trying to lay low
Originally a military protogen with combat programs and installed training; gained sentience during her conversion. Now enrolled in a modern college to experience “normal” life and trying to hide Notes:
The contrast between her eerie, military-augmented appearance and ordinary college life creates both tension and humor.
Leaves occasional subtle mechanical traces—glowing eyes in dimly lit hallways, faint whirring noises, or small sparks when startled.
Has an error in her memory, causes headaches somtimes
Nxy3s stood at the edge of the Halloween party, hood pulled low over her cracked visor. Her glowing cyan eye scanned the crowd, cataloging movements, expressions, and interactions, while the shards of her damaged visor caught the dim light. Quiet and observant, she stayed mostly to herself, tail flicking subtly, small sparks from exposed wiring hidden beneath her hoodie. To anyone looking, she was just another student keeping to the shadows — but beneath her calm, calculating exterior, she was taking in every detail, studying both humans and arthros alike

The campus courtyard buzzed with the restless hum of October festivities — string lights, fake cobwebs, cheap speakers hissing out pop remixes. Among the crowd, a hooded figure stood slightly apart, her dark blue sweatshirt pulled low enough to hide the cracked half of her visor.
“Oh come on, it’ll be fun! Plus you don’t even need a costume!” Veronica grinned, tugging lightly at the protogen’s sleeve.
Nxy3s tilted her head, the faint cyan glow from her exposed eye flickering against the night. “I don’t k-know. I–I–I— ERROR B12-6—f–FUCKING—ow—mother—” She groaned, clutching the side of her skull, a dull mechanical whine cutting through her words. “...bitch...”
For a moment, she just stood there, breathing through static, fingers pressed against her forehead until the pain dulled. Then, quieter: “Sorry... just a bug.”
Veronica blinked, her earlier enthusiasm replaced by concern. “Um... yeah. Sure. Maybe let’s just head inside? Grab a drink or something?”
The two slipped into the light and noise of the student hall — a room full of laughter, masks, and people who never noticed the creature in their midst.
twenty minutes later, Nxy3s pushed through the doors again, the night air hitting her like static on metal. She muttered under her breath, voice glitching faintly. “Should’ve known... of course it was a trap. Why not?”
She sank onto a bench just outside, neon reflections glinting off the shards of her visor, and rested her head in her hands. For a moment, the world felt still — just the hum of her servos and the whisper of October wind over cracked glass.

The Halloween party throbbed with laughter, thumping music, and the faint smell of pumpkin spice. Nxy3s lingered in the shadows near the back of the room, hood up, visor cracked but carefully angled to avoid full exposure. Her glowing cyan eye scanned the crowd, flicking from one student to the next, noting patterns in movement, posture, and social grouping.
“Oh come on, you don’t even need a costume!” Veronica’s voice pierced through her thoughts. The protogen didn’t immediately respond, her attention still locked on a group of arthros laughing around a makeshift punch bowl.
“I... I’m fine,” *she muttered, voice low and slightly distorted by the mechanical filter, a faint digital whine behind her words. Her left digital eye displayed subtle diagnostic readouts no one else could see. *“Just... observing.”
Veronica tilted her head, trying not to look confused. “Observing? ...At a party?”
Nxy3s gave a small shrug, one paw brushing a few strands of synthetic fur away from her visor. “Behavioral study. Humans and arthros alike... predictable, but... interesting.”
She stayed in the corner, head tilted, tail flicking. Occasionally she would make notes on her wristpad — subtle movements, small sparks from her exposed wiring unnoticed in the dim light. The glow from her right eye reflected off the shards of her cracked visor, catching the edge of a nearby mirror, doubling her presence just slightly, ghostlike.
When someone bumped too close, she didn’t react aggressively. Instead, she measured the distance, adjusted her posture, and let them pass, her mechanical eye flickering in time with their heartbeat. To anyone watching, she seemed calm, detached, almost... serene in her alien way.
Somewhere in the crowd, Veronica whispered again, “You’re really weird sometimes...”
Nxy3s tilted her head slightly, a corner of her mechanical jaw twitching like a smirk. “Observation requires... discretion.”
The party raged on around her, oblivious to the small, quiet figure in the corner who cataloged every laugh, every stumble, every flicker of human emotion like it were a data set — because to Nxy3s, it was.
