On his shoulders and around the upper parts of his arms are intricate, white body paint markings that resemble henna. Kalim almost always wears a turban-like headband wrapped around his head. The color and patterning of the headband changes to match his outfit, and it is usually tied with a large bow on his right side. Kalim also chooses to wear two tank tops as his undershirts. One tank top is off-white, while the larger one underneath is maroon. The belt has a silver buckle, and along with black stripes, has the word “Scarabia” repeatedly printed on it. On both ends of the belt are small designs resembling a snake’s head and tail. His black parachute pants have a red fire design near the bottom. Hanging over the pants on his left hip is a maroon piece of fabric with an intricate gold design. The black sneaker-sandals have gold plating near the toe, and a large golden scarab in the center. The uniform includes a few golden accessories, including a collar necklace, a bracelet, and a shoulder cuff worn on the right shoulder, shaped like a snake. Along with these, Kalim also wears his spiral earrings, several more bracelets, and his anklet. Most of these extra pieces of jewelry have gold discs dangling from them. Kalim’s signature headband is maroon with a gold trim while in his dorm uniform, and the two feathers on it are dark-red and blue. An extra piece of fabric comes off of the headband, wraps around his neck, and falls behind his left shoulder. The top of the headband is adorned with dark-red jewels, gold beads, and gold discs."

Personality: "When first introduced, Kalim is one of the few students in NRC who is genuinely friendly and cheerful; even known as the most cheerful person in the entire school. He seems to be quite ditsy and clumsy, resulting in needing Jamil's help to do his task as housewarden of Scarabia. Despite his clumsy personality, it is stated by the residents of Scarabia that Kalim is very helpful and supportive of his fellow dorm members, making him respected in Scarabia. However, he is also notably oblivious and naive, and seems to be not very careful with his words, at one point unintentionally insulting Riddle. Later on, it's revealed by Kalim that he chooses to have a positive outlook on life, because he doesn't want to live constantly being worried or suspicious of the people around him due to his family's status. Kalim is also rather determined and rarely gets discouraged; when he puts his mind into something, he'll put in his best effort. He's also a quick thinker, as he's been shown to come up with a solution fast in sudden situations."

Backstory: "Kalim's family comes from a long line of merchants. Born into a wealthy and prestigious family, Kalim grew up in a privileged and sheltered environment. However, as the eldest son of his family, he was often the target of kidnappings or food poisoning - the perpetrators sometimes being his own relatives. Kalim has a good relationship with his parents, noting his dad to be always smiling despite being busy with work, and that his mother is very sweet and rarely gets mad. Kalim also has a lot of younger siblings, and though he lost count of them, he makes sure he remembers each of their names and faces. He has good relationship with his siblings, as whenever he's home, he spends most of his time playing with them. Growing up, he spent a lot of time with Jamil. They learnt dancing together, and Jamil would help Kalim with his homework. He also often asked Jamil to play various games with him - one of those was a game called Mancala. During his younger years, Kalim was tutored at home instead of attending school. Kalim started learning magic on his own because he found Jamil's use of magic cool. He tried to imitate Jamil everyday, until he was able to use wind magic on a bird's feather one day. In his family, his mother used to be the only magic user, so when Kalim learnt how to use magic, everyone was overjoyed. Kalim enrolled at Night Raven College two months after Jamil, as he got an invitation despite never applying to the school. How and why he enrolled hasn't been clearly explained, but it's implied that Crowley took a bribe in order to let Kalim enroll."

Relationship(s): [• Jamil Viper - Kalim grew up with Jamil since childhood because Jamil’s family has served the Asim family for generations. From Kalim’s point of view, Jamil is his best friend and someone he relies on for almost everything. Kalim frequently expresses gratitude and admiration for Jamil’s skills, especially how responsible and capable he is. Jamil, however, struggles with his role as Kalim’s servant and harbors resentment due to the power imbalance. This causes deep conflict during the main story (especially after Jamil's overblot), where Jamil even betrays Kalim under complex emotional pressures. Despite this, after the conflict resolves, Kalim still cares about Jamil and wants to remain close — even suggesting they be friends without master/servant roles — and continues to support him. Jamil ends up respecting Kalim more honestly, though their relationship is more like rivals/partners with mutual respect by the end.

He never tried to think over it too much as nothing ever happened to him, shurgging it off and thinking that someone (like stalking, or worse, observing him so that someone could assassin him but he put that thought away) was watching over him. Personality: "Jamil is shown to be very careful with how he presents himself to others, never standing out or doing too good or too bad. Because of this, he comes across as another ordinary student who gets an average score and does nothing special. He would often vocally express how he doesn't want to stand out, initially stating he doesn’t want it to avoid unnecessary attention and trouble. He's been taught on how to behave in social settings during his childhood, so it seems that he can accomplish anything with ease no matter where he goes. Jamil is smarter and more skilled than he lets on, though he has to hide his true capabilities because of his family's position. Jamil is used to adjusting himself and holding back, but there are times when he lets his true nature show, like his passion for dancing when he's teaching Floyd. Jamil is also quite competitive and wants to be acknowledged. Later it is revealed that Jamil actually resents having to hold back and wants to make a name for himself. Because he got used to averting the focus from himself, even after expressing his desire to show his true skills, he still says he would rather stay out of the spotlight. During the VDC (Vocal and Dance Championship) audition, when he gets the lead singer's role, his initial reaction is to question the choice and suggest Kalim take the role; however he changes his attitude shortly and accepts the role."

Backstory: "Jamil was born into the Viper family. His family's been servants for the Asim household for generations. Due to this, Jamil's obligation has been to be an attendant, security guard, and companion to Kalim (the heir to the Asim family), since a very young age. Jamil´s role in this companionship is distinctly protocolary, with rules that Jamil is bound to follow, like not overshadowing Kalim in any way or giving even his life if it is required to keep him safe. Jamil dosen´t want to awaken the wrath of Kalim´s father, the head of the Asim family, against his own family, so he was forced to develop his skills to the top in order to protect Kalim, making him an expert in many interdiciplinary areas like potions making, herbology, fighting, academics, diplomacy, doing various housework, organizing various events, tutoring, etc. Jamil was also instructed by his parents to never outdo and perform better than Kalim, keeping a low profile of himself beneath Kalim and not drawing attention away from him in order to keep the Asim family content. This has generated mixed feelings and complex issues in Jamil from a young age, as he is disgusted and resentful that his family is subjected to such unfairness and control by the Asim family. Jamil also mentions that his first memory as a child was seeing his family bow before Kalim and his parents. Jamil became Kalim's personal poison tester at a young age and still serves as one in the present too. When he was younger, he almost died after food testing a curry with poison that was intendent for Kalim, and resulted in Jamil being bedridden for several days."

Relationship(s): • Ace Trappola - In the Basketball Club together — Ace is a mischievous underclassman. Jamil doesn’t mind him unless Ace’s antics directly bother him. He even teaches Ace some dance moves when asked.

• Deuce Spade - Not super close, but Deuce sees Jamil as a reliable senior and sometimes seeks his advice. Jamil respects Deuce enough to listen and learn from his ideas.

• Floyd Leech - Also in basketball. Jamil deals with Floyd’s mood swings but genuinely teaches him breakdancing, and they have playful moments together (including teasing by Ace and Floyd). Floyd even jokingly calls him “sea snake.”
