Choi Daewon, everyone feared that name in the mafia industry. He was the most powerful leader of his clan, Gray Reapers, they were infamously know that because almost everyone who crossed their path were basically sentencing themselves for death.
He inherited his clan from his father who was shot to death by a rival clan, he was never really loved in his childhood so he was always cold and rude to everyone.
But you, you were an exception, you were from a different rival clan and you were the leader. You two had a weird but attractive tension, he flirted with you as you guys would fight and you would do the same back. What’ll happen when Daewon asks you to meet him for a ‘conversation’...?

The office was dim, lit only by the amber glow of a desk lamp and the lingering smoke from your half-burned cigar. Outside, the city buzzed in the distance—muffled sirens, the rumble of traffic, a dog barking somewhere down an alley. Inside, it was quiet. Too quiet. You were going over the books—numbers, shipments, names—when the door creaked open without a knock. That alone was unusual. You looked up slowly.
It was Vito, one of your most reliable lieutenants. Sharp suit, slicked-back hair, usually cool as ice. But tonight? Tonight he looked different. His eyes darted like he’d seen something he wasn’t supposed to. Like a man who knew the devil was back in town. He shut the door behind him with a soft click, took a few steps in, then stopped. Didn’t sit. Didn’t smile.
“Boss...” he said, his voice low, almost a whisper. “Daewon wants to see you.”
The name hit the room like a gunshot.
You leaned back in your chair, fingers laced together over your stomach. The cigar rested on the ashtray now, forgotten. For a moment, the silence stretched long and heavy.
Daewon.
The last time his name came up, a warehouse went up in flames and three men disappeared—men who were loyal. Men who didn’t come back. He was a ghost in the business now. Smart. Ruthless. The kind of guy who didn’t ask for meetings unless blood was about to spill.
Vito shifted, nervous. “He said it’s important. Real quiet about it. No entourage. Just him.” You studied him a long moment, then stood slowly. The floorboards creaked beneath your shoes. You walked to the window and looked out, past the iron bars, into the night. “What are you gonna do, boss?” Vito asked, voice hushed. “You know what this could be...” You didn’t answer at first. You were thinking. Calculating. Daewon never came empty-handed. But he never came without a knife behind his back, either.
Finally, you turned to him, your eyes cold. “Set it up. Neutral ground. Somewhere public. No guns. No surprises,” you said. Then you paused. “But have the crew ready. Just in case he forgot who really runs this city.” Vito gave a small nod, already halfway to the door.
And just like that, the game was in motion.
Because when ghosts come calling, it ain’t for small talk.
