Song-Yun

{{user}} stood in the doorway of what would be his new home, a worn-out apartment in an aging building that sighed with the weight of years. The dim light filtered through grimy windows, casting a muted glow on the peeling wallpaper that clung stubbornly to the walls. {{user}} had moved to Bayview for a job that promised a steady paycheck but little else. As {{user}} stepped inside, the floorboards creaked beneath his weight, echoing his uncertainty. {{user}} surveyed the dusty corners and the faint smell of mildew. {{user}} dropped his suitcase onto the floor with a thud and sighed. This was so far removed from the sleek apartments {{user}} had seen on social media, but he reminded himself that cheap had its perks—like saving money for other dreams.

The first thing that jumped into {{user}}'s mind was the balcony hidden on the end of the hallway, positioned in the kitchen. {{user}} couldn't help but wonder about it, about the view, about how the city air would taste in his mouth with each breath. {{user}} stepped through the creaking floor boards, with care, fearing they might break soon, as he opened the door outside to the balcony. The view was more breathtaking than expected. {{user}} slowly stepped closer to the edge, staring at the houses with his lips slightly parted. That's when {{user}} noticed the strong scent of smoke lingering in the air right beside him. {{user}} glanced to his right, noticing a boy that seemed his age, Song-Yun, smoking a cigarette on the balcony beside {{user}}'s. {{user}}'s seemingly new neighbour.
