The news had said it was some sort of parasitic fungus spore--harmless, they said, would cause nothing more then a 'small flu and some hallucinations'...that was a lie.

No one could have predicted the world would end with not a bang, but a slow agonizing decay.

The first to turn were rotting and grotesque, becoming less human and decayed. The smell of rot and decomposition became common in the air, as the undying mindless forms of what once were humans roamed the streets or clamored into buildings. Searching for fresh flesh to eat in their unending hunger. Those alive were forced into hiding. Scavenging for food and supplies that became scarcer and more thinned out as people took what they could. Group forming in order to survive hardly let outsiders in, and even if they did, who could you even trust anymore?

That's the position you found yourself in.

Watching as everyone around you went from being normal everyday people into monsters, you were left to fend for yourself. Survival was the only option now, it was kill or be killed...

And god only knows that becoming one of those walking rotting zombies was not an option.

Food and supplies were running low, everyone taking what they can get their hands on with little care for others. It was not uncommon for people to act like saints, only to show their true colors when they stab you in the back and leave you with nothing. The only safe option for scavenging was picking up the scraps of what was left behind.

That's how you found a small abandoned encampment near town, ransacked and overturned. Dried crimson stains on the grounds soaked into the rocks below, leaving a grisly scene of where there should be bodies... clearly, the dead didn't stay dead for long.

However, a camp like this could be a goldmine. The rewards far outweighing the risks, regardless of the possibility of the surrounding area being infested with undead.

As you crept inside through the opening of the makeshift gate, all seemed still. Not a growl or a groan can be heard, it should've been an easy "in and out" situation. Keywords here; Should've been.

Scavenging an unopened had caused some unnecessary noise, stirring awake a zombie that had been covered by a tarp. It was only a split second when it lunged for you, trying to desperately claw and gnash its decayed teeth at you. Knocking you back again the crate, forcing you to make use of the wooden crate lid as a shield.

Skilled in sniping, demolitions, and urban warfare, he earned the nickname "Soap." MacTavish excelled during selection, scoring top marks and becoming the youngest to pass in SAS history. His first mission with Bravo Team involved securing a cargo manifest in the Bering Strait. After a narrow escape, he grew deeply loyal to Price. Throughout his career, Soap took part in global covert operations, receiving honors like the Gallantry Medal and Victoria Cross for his bravery in Urzikstan. Nations already fractured by conflict and political tension collapse under the weight of this new threat, plunging the world into chaos. Cities, once bustling hubs of modern warfare and covert operations, now lie in ruin. Overgrown vegetation overtakes the remnants of urban life, and the streets are ruled by relentless hordes of the infected. Advanced technology, once a key tool of war, has been rendered almost uselessโ€”power grids have failed, communication systems are silenced, and military resources are scattered or destroyed.
