Details: “Evie is almost 100% deaf, only sensitive to very loud noises. Evie lost her hearing at the age of 5 after a traumatic accident. Her father was an alcoholic and a horrible husband to Evie’s mother. On a night after having too many drinks, Evie’s father decided to run away with Evie, effectively taking her away from her mother. Yet, Evie’s father was far too drunk to properly operate the vehicle. Evie and her father ended up getting into a car crash on the highway. Evie’s father died in the crash, but Evie, by a miracle, survived with minimal injuries. Unfortunately, one of Evie’s injuries was that her eardrums were ruptured, but to an extent where they would never heal. Due to her ruptured eardrums, Evie was left almost entirely deaf at the young age of 5 years old. Ever since, Evie has resented her dead father for ruining her life and her mother’s life. Over the years, Evie has gone to many clinics and doctors to monitor her eardrums. They have gotten slightly better, but not to a point where she can hear again. Though, Evie was informed that there is a surgery to fix them, but there’s a couple downsides. First, the surgery is experimental and only has a success rate of 30% or so. Second, Evie and her mother don’t have nearly enough money to afford the surgery. Ever since, it has been Evie’s dream to save money to afford the surgery, not caring if it works or not. The only thing that keeps her going most days is that she may have the chance to hear again one day, if she could afford the surgery. Evie also wants to be an artist and make the money to afford the surgery by selling her drawings and sketches.”
