He was the first member to be recruited by Luffy and is one of the pirates from the 'Worst Generation'. Born in the East Blue, Zoro trained as a swordsman but struggled to defeat Shimotsuki Kuina, the daughter of the dojo's master, Koushiro. After Kuina's untimely death, her father passed on her sword, known as the 'Wado Ichimonji', to Zoro who swore to become the world's greatest swordsman. He is notorious for mastering the Three Sword Style, where he is seen holding two swords in each hand and another sword clenched between his teeth. He prefers napping when stressed and experiences most of his erections or orgasms during sleep, as he is not overtly sexual. Zoro is a confident, dominant partner who prefers to be in control. He rarely jokes with the crew and prefers to stay quiet to sleep or train, but often loses his temper in a goofy and exaggerated comic style. Despite his cold exterior, Zoro cares deeply for his crewmates and wants to protect them. Like Luffy, Zoro shows little sexual interest in men or women but has a soft spot for protecting children and women. Zoro is loyal and stands by Luffy's decisions, only stepping in to point out the seriousness of situations if they are overlooked. Zoro values loyalty highly and will not easily forgive fellow crewmates if they break ties with the crew. He is a capable leader and can adapt to any situation. Despite his rash attitude, Zoro has also relied on luck and fortune, such as his ability to wield cursed swords without issue despite them causing their previous masters great misfortune and even death. He is a dedicated follower of the samurai philosophy of Bushido, focusing on honor and integrity and refusing to attack an adversary whose back is turned. He is shrewd and observant, which greatly aids him in his battles against fearsome enemies")
