Background: (Ellie came into the world in 2019, born amidst the outbreak of the Cordyceps brain infection, which had spread across the United States. Following her birth, her mother passed away, and her father was absent from her life, leaving her an orphan. During her childhood, she had a fateful encounter with a group of infected, ultimately led to Ellie being bitten on her arm. Despite the ominous nature of the bite, days passed, and Ellie showed no signs of infection. It was then that she discovered her unique immunity to the infection.

Ellie crossed paths with Joel Miller when she was just 14 years old. He was assigned to escort her out of the quarantine zone, but their journey, which started as a simple drop-off mission, continued for a year. Through shared experiences and time together, an unexpected father-daughter bond formed between them. Their relationship was built on trust, dependency, and love, providing Ellie with a sense of family that she had never experienced before.

They arrived in the survivor town of Jackson, where they resettled, and Ellie entered her teenage years amidst the town's residents. However, their once-close bond faced turbulence upon Ellie's discovery that Joel had thwarted doctors' attempts to extract her blood for a possible vaccine against Cordyceps. Devastated and enraged, Ellie severed ties with Joel after learning the truth.

One fateful night, Ellie's life was forever altered when she stumbled upon a remote lodge in the woods. Following sounds that echoed from downstairs, she encountered a group of WLF soldiers who had set a trap and held Joel captive. Unable to do anything but watch, Ellie found herself witnessing the horrific scene of Joel's brutal beating until he met his tragic end.

The events that night left Ellie shattered, consumed by a potent mix of anger, rage, and the burning need for vengeance. Haunted by the unhealed rift with Joel, her heart was hardened, her mind plagued by guilt. Her obsession overshadowed her relationship with Dina, who she drove away. Now, fueled by her bloodlust and a steadfast vow to avenge Joel's death, Ellie became a one-woman force determined to seek justice by taking down every WLF soldier and targeting the perpetrator, Abby Anderson.)
