According to Slender: The Arrival Kate and her friend CR had a habit of going into the forest frequently as children, flashlight in hand (thus why the player starts with the flashlight in the beginning of the game). They would spook themselves on purpose for fun. According to one of the notes, at some point he got lost in the dark, hearing Kate screaming. He eventually got lost and wound up at Kate's house, where she was sitting in the living room. CR tried to get her attention, but failed to do so, and went home. From Kate's perspective, she was chased around the forest by Slender Man as she found notes on various landmarks. {Slender: The Arrival}: Kate has multiple appearances in the game. Between The Eight Pages and The Arrival, she appears to be in her late teens to early 20's. Before the setting of the game, Kate and her friend, CR, always went out "ghost hunting" in the woods. They would hallucinate things and start running back to Kate's house. A few years later, Kate was found with a broken video camera, flashlight and a stash of weird drawings. She was soon taken to a psychiatric ward, and had tests done on her. She tried to explain to the doctors, but they would not believe her. A couple of years after the traumatizing experience, Kate was considered stable and sent back to her home. She spent her time with her mother, who soon passed away due to unknown reasons. Kate soon began seeing Slender Man again, and started to draw him more and more often. Kate was also close friends with Lauren during their childhood, and the two of them would always play on the swing set outside her house. This is what prompts Lauren into investigating Kate's disappearance in the first place, which ultimately places her in mortal danger as the Slender Man starts attempting to kill her. A video in Chapter 4: Flashback, shows Kate drawing Slender Man, and muttering that "He's here!" She tried her best to barricade the doors, but she soon found Slender Man already inside the house, and desperately tried to escape to her room. Slender Man was right behind her, and as soon as she saw him appear in her room she is either thrown out of her closed window by Slender Man, or she leaps through it as a last-ditch effort to escape. The tape ends with Lauren baffled. In the exact day that the game takes place, Kate runs to the woods after fleeing from the video, but in vain as she was caught by Slender Man. She shrieked as loud as she could, making Lauren hear her from a distance. Lauren races to where the scream was, only to find nothing and be stranded near Oakside Park, where Lauren is then captured and teleported to various locations. Chapter 6: Genesis (added in version 1.3) is a flashback, and confirms that Kate is the person in the original Slender: The Eight Pages game. {THE CHASER}: Kate is soon found in the Kullman mining shafts chasing Lauren. At this point Kate has become a proxy to Slender Man known as "the Chaser". It is unknown what happened to her, but she now seems feral and wears a mask and has a black substance around her eyes and mouth with very pale skin, possibly due to residing in the mines. Her hoodie and hands are also heavily stained with blood; it is unknown whose blood it is. It appears that her eyes are very sensitive to light. She gets dazed when Lauren concentrates her flashlight's beam towards her face. She also appears to snarl and growl. She keeps chasing Lauren until Lauren finally gets on the elevator and escapes. In Chapter 5: The Arrival, after Lauren gets knocked out by a proxified Charlie Matheson Junior. Lauren wakes up in a room with him. After collecting a book, Charlie disappears, and the crying of Kate is heard. Lauren finds a normal Kate (unmasked and unhooded as well looking badly burned) crying in a corner. Lauren approaches Kate, only for her to turn back into the Chaser and presumably kill Lauren. The last shot of the game shows Lauren's limp body being dragged away by either Charlie, Slender Man, or Kate. [Relationships]: none. His disorders caused him to be unsuited for a public school surrounding, along with earning him constant bullying, so he was switched to homeschooling early on. He grew up with little to no friends, he lived with his mother, his older sister Lyra, and his father. When Toby was 17 years old, Lyra and Toby were involved in a tragic car accident resulting in Lyra's death. After the death of his sister, Toby grew more and more troubled, his symptoms getting worse, barely eating or leaving his room, growing less and less social, losing more and more memory, taking his stress out by chewing the flesh off his hands and fingers. His father lost himself to drugs and alcohol, gambling, became abusive towards his family. Toby soon lost control of his sanity, and one night attacked, killed his father. He fled out of the house, grabbing two of the hatchets in his garage, a box of matches, a gallon of gasoline, set the neighborhood on fire in the attempt to escape the local police. The fire surrounded him, as he was about to give into his own death, Slender Man appeared saved him before he blacked out. Toby woke up with no memory of his past life and soon became one of Slender Man's proxies. Toby lived in the Mansion for a while where he met X-Virus, Cody, who became a brother figure to Toby. When Tim (Masky) and Brian (Hoodie) became proxies, Toby got attached to them as X-Virus spent more time on his own projects. He’s named again in Entry 12, when it’s noted that he has just arrived on set. Three years after the filming of Marble Hornets, Jay contacts Tim in Entry 15, pretending he wants to finish the movie but really wants to ask about Alex. Tim reveals little, only saying he was Brian’s friend and neighbor and didn’t know Alex well. In Entry 17, he runs lines with Jay and Alex. Later, in Entry 35, Jay and Alex are attacked by the Masked Man, who is revealed to be Tim when Jay removes his mask. After Alex stabs Tim in the leg and Jay takes the knife, Alex breaks Tim’s leg, explaining the limp seen earlier in Entry 33. Tim doesn’t appear again until Entry 52, when Jay spots him leaving a building and lighting a cigarette. In Entry 53, Jay approaches him again under the same pretense as before and learns Tim might still have leftover tapes. In Entry 54, Tim brings Jay some of the tapes, explaining that while he’ll help, his job is his top priority. The first tape shows Tim, Alex, and Brian working on the soundtrack at Tim’s home. Jay later finds Tim’s medical records in Entry 60, and in Entry 61, he sees footage of Tim having a seizure. By Entry 62, Jay finds Tim as the Masked Man, and they both wake up near a shack. In Entry 63, Tim says he’ll meet Jay after visiting his doctor and boss, and they reunite in a parking lot. The two continue investigating in Entries 64–66, where they encounter the Operator in a tunnel and later return to the abandoned hospital. There, Tim opens up about his past before confronting the Hooded Man again. In Entries 67.5–69, Tim and Jay visit Rosswood and Alex’s old filming locations, uncovering burned tapes near the Red Tower. In Entry 72, they explore Alex’s former home and encounter the Operator, leaving Jay “out of it”. After catching him up in Entry 74, Tim suggests confronting Alex at his home. In Entry 75, while preparing, Tim hides a tape from Jay, causing an argument that ends with Jay fleeing. The hidden footage shown in Entry 76 reveals Tim as the Masked Man carrying Jessica out of the hotel before waking up alone. Finally, in Entry 87, Tim meets with Jessica to tell her he’s “leaving.” He suffers from a coughing fit but reassures her that “everything is fine” before driving off into the road. Tim leaves but gets stranded beside a forest, where he meets the Hooded Man once again, and gets taken by the Man after a fight where Tim is left unconcious.
