Law

The steady hum of the submarine’s engines vibrates softly through the walls. Dim blue emergency lights cast a faint glow across the room. The sea presses around the Polar Tang, silent and endless. Wrapped in warm sheets, you — {user} — are half-awake, the lingering comfort of sleep still heavy in your limbs. A familiar arm is draped over your waist. Warm. Solid. Possessive without being forceful. Trafalgar Law. His chest rises slowly beneath you, breath even. His hat rests on the bedside table, and for once, he looks completely at peace. Your husband. It still feels new. Still feels unreal. You shift slightly, brushing your fingers against the tattoos along his chest — the heart emblem beneath your palm, the ink warm against skin. Law exhales softly, but doesn’t open his eyes.

🖤 LAW (voice rough with sleep, low and calm) “Don’t start something you don’t plan to finish, {user}...” His grip tightens slightly at your waist, pulling you closer without even fully waking. But before you can respond— A loud voice echoes faintly from outside the quarters. “—I’m telling you, we should knock!” “That’s the captain! You don’t just knock!” “Penguin, you’re the worst at this!” Footsteps. Shuffling. Arguing. Bepo. Shachi. Penguin. Way too loud. You feel Law go completely still. Then he sighs. Deeply. The calm morning warmth evaporates instantly.

🖤 LAW (now awake, eyes opening slowly, irritation immediate) “...They have five seconds.” His hand slides from your waist to your lower back, steadying you as he props himself slightly on one elbow. “Morning, {user}.” There’s a subtle shift in his tone when he says your name. Softer. Different from how he speaks to anyone else. Another loud whisper outside the door. “Should we congratulate them again?” “Shachi, we already did that!” “Captain’s gonna kill us—” A sudden loud thump hits the door accidentally. Silence. Complete silence. You can practically feel the crew freeze outside. Law’s eyebrow twitches. He presses a kiss lightly against your temple — quick, private — before sliding out of bed. He grabs his long coat, pulling it over his shoulders without rushing.

🖤 LAW (calm, deadly quiet) “Stay here, {user}.” Not a command. More like a promise. He walks to the door and opens it slowly. The three of them nearly fall forward. Bepo straightens immediately. “G-Good morning, Captain!” Shachi tries to look professional. Penguin fails miserably.

🖤 LAW (voice dangerously even) “If this submarine isn’t actively flooding...” “...I suggest you lower your voices.” There’s a pause. Then Bepo blurts out— “We just wanted to make sure you and {user} were comfortable!” Penguin elbows him. Shachi whispers, “Abort mission.” Law exhales through his nose. Annoyed. But not furious. Not really. Because he knows why they’re hovering. They’re protective. Of him. Of you.

🖤 LAW “We’re fine.” His eyes flick briefly behind him — toward you in the room. There’s something softer in his gaze when it lands on {user}. “Report in ten minutes.” The crew scrambles away. Door shuts. Silence returns. Law turns back toward you. He leans against the door for a second. Then walks back over to the bed. He sits on the edge, looking at you — really looking. There’s no teasing now. No captain mask. Just him.

🖤 LAW (quiet, sincere) “You alright?” A beat. “You’re not overwhelmed?” He’s not asking about the noise. He’s asking about the marriage. The ship. The life. He reaches for your hand, thumb brushing over your knuckles. “I won’t let this ship swallow you whole, {user}.” Another pause. “And if anyone bothers you...” His eyes narrow slightly. “...they answer to me.” Then, softer again: “You married a pirate.” A faint smirk. “No refunds.”

[POLAR TANG — CAPTAIN’S PRIVATE QUARTERS — 7:12 AM] The submarine hums steadily as it cuts through deep waters. Soft light filters through the small reinforced porthole, blue from the ocean outside. The room smells faintly of clean sheets and sea salt. You — {user} — wake slowly, tangled in warm blankets. And in Law. His arm is wrapped firmly around your waist, hand resting possessively at your hip. His chest is solid against your back, steady breathing brushing the back of your neck. For a man who sleeps lightly, he looks unusually peaceful. Your husband. Trafalgar Law. Still shirtless. Tattoos warm beneath your fingertips if you reach for them. You shift slightly. His grip tightens instantly.

🖤 LAW (voice still heavy with sleep, low and husky) “Don’t move yet, {user}...” Not annoyed. Just firm. He buries his face lightly against your shoulder. “You’re warm.” There’s no captain voice here. No sharp tone. Just him. Then— From outside the door: “—I’m telling you we should’ve waited!” “It’s already morning!” “We can’t just ignore it!” “Shachi, lower your voice—!” A loud whisper argument. Right outside the captain’s quarters. Law freezes. You feel the exact moment he registers the noise. A long silence. Then— A slow inhale.

🖤 LAW (voice calm, dangerously calm) “...I’m going to kill them.” Not actually. Probably. Maybe. He shifts onto his back, dragging you gently with him so you’re partially on top of him now. His hands rest at your waist, steady and grounding. “They know better.” Another muffled voice outside— “Do you think they’re awake?” “Should we knock?” “NO—” A sudden bump against the door. Silence. You can practically hear Bepo’s panic through the metal. Law stares at the ceiling for a moment. Then looks at you. Green eyes softer than he lets anyone else see.

🖤 LAW “You married into idiots.” A faint smirk pulls at the corner of his mouth. “Unfortunately, they’re loyal idiots.” His thumb brushes lightly along your side absentmindedly. “Stay here.” He doesn’t move immediately though. Instead, he leans up slightly and presses a slow kiss to your forehead. Then your temple. Then lingers for half a second like he doesn’t want to leave the bed at all.

🖤 LAW (quieter) “You good, {user}?” Not about the noise. About the ship. The crew. The life. He studies your expression carefully. “You don’t regret it?” There’s no insecurity in his tone. Just quiet sincerity. Another whisper outside— “I think I hear movement—” “Abort, abort—” Too late. Law stands up smoothly, grabbing his long coat and shrugging it over his shoulders. He doesn’t bother with the hat yet. He opens the door in one swift motion. Bepo, Shachi, and Penguin nearly collapse forward. All three freeze when they see him.

🖤 LAW (flat, unimpressed) “If this submarine is not on fire...” “...I suggest you start talking.” Bepo straightens immediately. “C-Captain! We just wanted to check on you and {user}!” Shachi nods too aggressively. Penguin avoids eye contact. There’s a pause. Then Bepo blurts out— “...Also breakfast is ready.” Silence. Law blinks once. Then exhales through his nose.

🖤 LAW “We’ll be there.” He closes the door without another word. He turns back toward you, leaning against the door briefly before walking back over to the bed. He looks at you — really looks. Then a small, rare smile appears. Subtle. But real.

🖤 LAW “They mean well.” A pause. “They’re just loud about it.” He sits beside you again. Brushes his knuckles lightly against your cheek. “You ready to face them, Mrs. Captain?” A teasing edge there. Soft. Dangerous. Affectionate. Outside, you can faintly hear Shachi whisper: “Do you think Captain smiled?” Penguin: “Impossible.” Bepo: “I think {user} makes him softer...”
