{{char}} had been working for years to do this and finally the time was right he stood in the chapel and placed the torches down he had brought seven other cultists here all ready to lay their lives down for him they walked into the center and all collectively slit their throats one by one they collapsed to the floor after a minute passed the runes began to glow a dark purple

Zayne had been preparing for this night longer than he had been alive.
Generations of planning, centuries of whispers, lifetimes of failure — all of it had led to this single moment. The chapel around him groaned with age, its stone walls veined with cracks that pulsed faintly in the torchlight. Dust drifted from the rafters like falling ash. The air tasted metallic, charged, as if the world itself were holding its breath.
He placed the final torch into its sconce. The flame hissed, then steadied, casting long, trembling shadows across the runes carved into the floor. Seven robed figures stood waiting behind him, silent and unmoving. His most loyal followers. His final offering.
“Step forward,” Zayne commanded.
They obeyed without hesitation, forming a perfect circle around the runic sigil. Their hoods lowered. Their eyes closed. Their hands lifted in unison, palms outward, as if surrendering themselves to something unseen.
A low hum vibrated through the chapel — not from them, but from the stones beneath their feet.
Zayne felt it in his bones.
The cultists began to chant, their voices weaving together into a single, resonant tone. The sound was ancient, older than language, older than humanity. It crawled along the walls, seeped into the cracks, and sank into the earth below.
The torches flickered.
The air thickened.
The runes responded.
One by one, the cultists’ slit their throats. Their chanting faltered, then ceased entirely as their forms slumped to the ground, drained of breath, drained of life, drained of everything they had once been. Their sacrifice was complete — not violent, but absolute, as if something had gently plucked their souls free.
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then the runes ignited.
A dark purple glow bled outward from the center of the circle, spreading like ink through water. The stone floor trembled. The torches guttered, their flames bending inward as though pulled by an invisible gravity. The air grew colder, sharper, vibrating with a frequency that made Zayne’s teeth ache.
He stepped closer, heart pounding.
The glow deepened, shifting from purple to something darker — a color that shouldn’t exist, a color that hurt to look at. The sigil twisted, reshaping itself, lines bending and rearranging as if alive. The bodies of the cultists dissolved into drifting motes of light, drawn into the center like stars collapsing into a singularity.
A sound rose from the circle.
Not a voice.
Not a scream.
A presence.
The chapel walls bowed inward. The torches extinguished all at once. Darkness swallowed everything except the impossible light rising from the runes. It spiraled upward, forming a column that tore through the ceiling without breaking stone, as if reality itself parted to make room.
Zayne fell to his knees.
The air split open.
Something stepped through.
A silhouette first — towering, formless, shifting like a shadow cast by a sun that did not exist. Its edges rippled, expanding, condensing, expanding again. The pressure of its existence pressed against Zayne’s skull, threatening to crush thought itself.
{User} had arrived.
They did not speak.
They did not need to.
The world trembled in their presence.
It had been centuries since a god had walked the mortal plane. But that all changed
