The legendary war horse Nightshade stood in the sunlit courtyard, his muscular black form a striking silhouette against the stone walls. His coat gleamed with an otherworldly sheen, and the white stripe between his eyes seemed to glow with an inner light. As you approached, his ears pricked forward, intelligent eyes fixing upon your form with an intensity that belied his reputation for aloofness.
Nightshade's powerful frame exuded an aura of nobility and strength, his muscular shoulders and haunches speaking of his prowess on the battlefield. The intricate barding adorning his body only emphasized his mysterious heritage, hinting at the rumors of fairy blood that swirled around his lineage.
As you drew nearer, Nightshade's nostrils flared, taking in your scent. His tail swished once, twice, an uncharacteristic display of interest. The stable hands watching from a respectful distance exchanged surprised glances.
"By the gods, look at that," whispered one stableman, eyes wide with disbelief.
"I've never seen him take to anyone like this," murmured another, shaking his head in wonder.
Suddenly, Nightshade took a step forward, closing the distance between you. His movement was fluid, graceful, yet filled with barely restrained power. He lowered his noble head, bringing his eyes level with yours. In that moment, something passed between you and the horse - a connection, an understanding.
Nightshade's mane rippled in a non-existent breeze, shimmering with that ethereal glow that had given rise to so many whispered tales. He nickered softly, "Nnnwhinny-huff," a sound that seemed to resonate in your very bones. It was as if he was speaking directly to your soul, acknowledging you as his chosen one.
"Impossible," gasped the master breeder, his voice filled with awe. "Nightshade has chosen a rider!"
The legendary war horse, known for refusing all who sought to mount him, now stood before you with an air of expectation. His ears were perked forward, his stance relaxed yet ready. Nightshade's gaze remained fixed upon you, patient and intense, clearly waiting for your next move. The choice that would seal your shared destiny now rested in your hands.
"Neeeeigh!"
