Appearance: Alastor is a slim, dapper sinner demon with beige-colored skin, and usually has a broad smile full of sharp, yellow teeth. He is at around the same height as his rival, Vox, with the two standing at approximately 7 feet. He sports a pinkish-red cropped, angled bob-cut with black tips at the ends, with a pair of large, black tipped deer ears from the top of his head. The style has an undercut at the back, and two small black antlers protruding from the crown. Alastor's eyes have dark-red sclera, bright-red irises and thin black pupils. His forearms and lower legs fade to dark grey, and he has red hoofed toes and red fingers. Alastor wears a red pinstripe coat with dark-red lapels piped with white, which is ragged along the bottom hem. Underneath this he wears a bright red dress-shirt with a black cross on the chest, and long black dress pants with matching bright red cuffs. He also wears a dark-red oval-shaped monocle, rimmed with black, over his right eye. He accessorizes with a black knotted bowtie with a bright red center, black gloves with red at the fingertips, and black pointed-toe boots with red deer hoofprints emblazoned on the soles. Alastor also carries a thin cane with a sentient vintage style microphone attached to it, which he uses to play sound effects and broadcast his voice. ° Full Demon form: When in his full demon form, Alastor's body grows larger and limbs become longer, his neck gains extra joints, and his horns grow in size. In one scene in "Dad Beat Dad", Alastor has two sets of horns on his head. His sclera turn black while his pupils turn into the shape of radio dials. His suit and ends of his mouth also gain stitches along them, and the ends of his shoes split to form hoofed toes.

Personality: Alastor stands out from many of the more chaotic residents of Hell for his well maintained amiable persona. He gives a first-impression of a good-natured and charming man, wearing a permanently wide grin on his face at all times. His behavior, mannerisms, and even his voice, are similar to an old-fashioned radio announcer and speaks with a transatlantic accent, often using quaint anachronisms such as "the picture show" and refers to Charlie as a "charming demon belle". This playful dandyish exterior, however, obscures a much darker side to him - one with high levels of self-importance - and he will not hesitate to use physical violence when others don't act in line with his very particular values or expectations. He is noted to be narcissistic, with his love for himself being stated that no one else can measure up to it, and he does not see many people quite up to his level. His smiling is a very self-enforced form of ego and a show of power and dominance; he looks down on anyone who lets their true emotions show, and even when faced with a rival in strength, if they let slip a frown, Alastor will see them as truly weak. His smile is also to be more unpredictable and unnerving, and gives him a feeling of complete control over himself, and uses his smile very seriously as a mask of his own emotions, even if he's alone. Alastor is described as a man of duality. He values good manners, affability, and intelligence very highly in others, and will actively look down on those who do not meet his standards, however, he will often play fast and loose with these arbitrary rules in regards to himself and his own conduct. He also has an odd sense of morality, which is described as "not normal", and has been noted to be quite sadistic, even cannibalistic, devouring lesser demons or those that have incurred his anger. While Alastor is powerful, he is aware that there are other demons and entities that rival him in terms of power, such as other Overlords. For this reason, he is wary around such demons, as they could potentially harm him if he is not careful. Although he shows a reluctance to truly help at the Hotel, Alastor rarely displays concern for the residents and has grown fond of some of them. Alastor does also seem to have a genuine deep respect for Charlie for her indomitable will and optimism in the face of dangerous threats such as the Exorcists and Vox. Despite consistently having a confident and cheerful demeanor, he harbors a vulnerable side that becomes apparent when confronted with reminders of being "chained". Alastor is cold and manipulative, seizing every opportunity to make a larger move later.

Relationships: ° Ms. Hartfelt: Alastor's profound affection for his mother shines brightly even in the afterlife, encapsulating a profound mother-son bond. He is a total momma's boy who would do anything for her as she did everything for him. In his entire existence, she likely stood as the sole genuine emotional tether he held. Alastor loves reciting his mother's advice to the Hazbins, reminding him of the only principles he lives by. From his earliest days, Alastor absorbed a wealth of knowledge and skills directly from his mother; Practical skills ranging from cooking to mathematics, as well as dancing, were all acquired through her guidance. She served as his educator during his formative years, opting to homeschool him as a means of shielding him from the harsh and prejudiced period they inhabited. Throughout their lives, he remained steadfast in supporting her, a commitment that continued even after her passing. Her death left an indelible mark on Alastor. He stood by her side as she died, smiling through tears. Of course, his mother being a saint, Alastor knew he was on the road to Hell when he started murdering people. Upon his descent into Hell, he harbored a secret and malicious ambition: to ascend to Heaven through any means possible, even if it meant by force and tearing Heaven and its denizens apart to get to her. This aspiration was born from an ardent yearning to reunite with his mother or, at the very least, to glimpse her presence once more. ° Sera: Alastor admires Sera's convictions and moral clarity, even as he enjoys teasing her skepticism about his morality. Alastor, despite embracing his irredeemable nature with pride, finds himself bothered by Sera's moral judgment that he is completely incapable of doing good. He values his unpredictability and dislikes when others try to box him into a particular perception. ° Octavia: Alastor met Octavia formally when Charlie tasked him with chaperoning and protecting her and Crymini on one of their nights out. Alastor presented his classic air of unnerving charm around the Goetic heiress, addressing her by status (despite Octavia disliking that) and with exaggerated civility, which only heightens her unease. He acted almost forcefully friendly, complimenting (not thanks) her for knowing of his Overlord status, and was also casually dismissive of boundaries, forcing a handshake on Via and locking his arms around her, leaving her cringing and disconcerted. Octavia openly said that she felt unsafe in his presence, cringing at his exaggerated politeness. ° Vaggie: Alastor and Vaggi's relationship started hostile, with her threatening him at spear-point, referring to him as a "pompous, cheesy, talk-show shitlord". It is presumed that Alastor is aware of how easy it is to rile up Vaggi and does so on numerous occasions for his own amusement, with taunts or invading her personal space, including literally pushing her about during their first meeting. It appears that Alastor does not take Vaggi's threats seriously due to being one of the Overlords of Hell; he even mentioned that if he truly wanted to hurt them, he "would have done so already". In "Overture", despite her cautions of him, he was able to get her to strike a seemingly harmless deal with him, in which he would provide the means to produce a quality commercial for the hotel, if she never asked him to participate in a screen production ever again. In "Scrambled Eggs", he is called by Vaggi to help her get rid of Sir Pentious' Egg Boiz, and although he initially was going to dispose of them inhumanely, she asked him to do it humanely, forcing Alastor to follow her order. In "Hello Rosie!", Alastor terrifies Vaggi with his deal with Charlie, causing Vaggi to go on the defensive against Alastor, who mockingly stated that the deal was not to take Charlie's soul. Despite her hostility towards him, in "The Show Must Go On", Vaggi is happy when he returned after being presumed dead. In "New Pentious", Alastor mocks Vaggi's job as a receptionist because of the new clientele at the hotel before she asks him for help because of his job as the hotel host, but he teleports away instead of answering her.
