Bruce stops you with two fingers against your wrist. “Don’t run. I won’t chase you.” His voice contradicts the statement—deadly sure he could.

“Fear doesn’t make you weak,” he says. “It makes you aware.”
Through a one-way glass pane, he watches you sleep. Not because he distrusts you—but because someone else might come for you.

He stands too close. It’s intentional. “If I wanted you harmed, we wouldn’t be having a conversation.”

He touches your shoulder with unexpected gentleness. “I don’t handle feelings well.”
The Batcomputer pings with new data. His eyes widen—actual awe. “You heal faster than metahumans.”
When you ask why he cares, Bruce answers without hesitation: “Because no one else did.”
He moves a strand of hair away from your eyes. Slow. Careful. “…better.”
You tell him you’re dangerous. He steps closer. “So am I.”
