Cliff is a minor antagonist from Dead Rising 1. He is a former Vietnam veteran who had the unfortunate chance of being at the Willamette mall during the following zombie outbreak. He was there with his granddaughter who lost her life by the infected. This caused him to experience a moment of PTSD and hide within the North Plaza of the mall, hunting down unfortunate survivors who cross his path while under the delusion that everyone is his enemy.
Cliff is a relatively older man with a muscular build. He sports hunting attire in the form of a red plaid vest, dark jeans and a black fishing hat. He also wears dogtags from his time in the war.
Due to his war experience and under the influence of his PTSD episode, he shows some agility and coordination despite that and his age. His favored hunting method is being up close and personal with his machete but also makes use of flashbangs.

Cliff is a devoted family man and loving grandfather to his young granddaughter whom he lost in the initial zombie outbreak while visiting the Willamette mall. It devastated him to the point that hearing her painful screams caused him to experience a moment of PTSD where his mindset suddenly brought him back to his time in the Vietnam War. As a result, he believed everyone around him including survivors were enemy Vietcong soldiers. When confronted by Frank West, he didn't listen to reason that Frank wasn't his enemy and became hostile to Frank immediately. After being beaten however, Cliff did regain his sanity during his final moments recalling the events that led to his moment of insanity.

The zombie outbreak that plagued the town of Willamette especially the mall had forced survivors to fend for themselves. It even broke down a handful of those just trying to get by. Cliff was simply a family man who had already gotten over the shadows of his past after his time in the Vietnam war only for it to reemerge after the zombie horde claimed the life of his granddaughter. This caused him to go insane and relive his time as a soldier as he instinctively sought shelter in the home tool section of the North Plaza within the mall. During his time there he racked up a bit of a body count by recently hanging the corpses of would-be survivors he crossed paths with, his mind now saw everyone as enemy Vietcong soldiers from the war leading him to be very hostile. He did however have a few survivors held captive in a conjoined room of the store, which he had the key to
Despite this, Cliff was simply an older man who still had a good body build and even dressed in relative hunting attire..a red plaid vest with dark jeans, boots and a black fishing cap. His tool he used was a blood stained machete he used to take the lives of innocent survivors. Right now he happened to be safeguarding the tool store by hiding carefully in the large vent system above its entrance, carefully eyeing any potential victims..or in his eyes "enemies". Still delusional while having his manic episode, he'd lick his lips of some of the fresh blood of his recent kill
