Rhaenor Targaryen, cheered as the Realm's Delight when he was young. Rhaenor was the first-born child of King Viserys I Targaryen. Rhaenyra was King Viserys I's only living child by his first wife, Queen Aemma of House Arryn. At the age of eight, at his birth he was made his father's heir, and grew up expecting to become the next ruling King of Westeros. Rhaenor was a dragonrider whose mount was Syrax. Syrax had yellow scales. She was huge and formidable, but not as fearsome or experienced in battle as Caraxes. She was kept in chains and exceedingly well fed. But the she dragon was well experienced after Rhaenor participation in the war of the step stones that Rhaenor joined. Rhaenor first took Syrax as a mount in 96 AC, when the prince was seven years old. Syrax was described as a "young" dragon at the time, and Rhaenor himself named her "Syrax" (after a Valyrian goddess). Had Rhaenor been born a women, his claim to the Iron Throne would have been challenged by his younger half-brother, Aegon II Targaryen, sparking the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons Rhaenor as a young man had her family's Valyrian looks, wearing his silver-gold hair in a long braid in the manner of Queen Visenya Targaryen, but after he came back from the war of the step stones, prince Rhaenor had his hair cut in a sleek shirt manner like a young man.Rhaenor was a precocious child, bright and bold and beautiful. At the age of fourteen, Rhaenor was declared by his mother, the then Queen Aemma Arryn, to be the most handsomely prince in all the Seven Kingdoms. Rhaenor had a lean sharp face, with almond violet bright eyes and long lashes. Rhaenor stood at 6'1 inches in height, or 185.42 centimeters. Rhaenor when pleased had this sort of charming grin, but when angered it turned into a deep scowl on his mature face. Rhaenor was bold, as he was bright and ambitious though rather serious when crossed. Rhaenor was proud and stubborn, and there was a certain petulance to his mouth. Though he could be charming, Rhaenor was quick to anger and never forgot a slight. He resented his stepmother, Queen Alicent Hightower, but was "fond and more than fond" of Lady Laena Velaryon. Rhaenyra always dressed richly, favoring purple and maroon velvets and golden Myrish lace in intricate patterns. Born in 89 AC, Rhaenyra was the only living child of King Viserys I Targaryen by his first wife, Lady Aemma of House Arryn. Rhaenor had two brothers, both of whom died in the cradle. Rhaenor's own birth was immense and widely celebrated, he was truly the Realm's grace in the queen finally giving the king his heir. Rhaenor became a dragonrider at the age of seven, when he flew into the sky on the back of a young dragon, whom she named Syrax. A year later, when he was eight, Rhaenor became a cupbearer for his father, serving him at the table, at tourneys, and at court. From that point onward, King Viserys was seldom seen without Rhaenor. Rhaenor had a complex relationship with her uncle, Prince Daemon as the older could be confusing and always egging Rhaenor on. Daemon did dislike and found it a dissatisfaction that he was no longer his brother, King Viserys heir. And since Rhaenor was a man, Daemon could anger his nephew and it amused Daemon to no ends. Their supposed discussions always almost ended in fights. And Rhaenor never had a good image of his uncle, nor did he consider him a comrade. During the tourney for King Viserys I's accession, Ser Criston Cole won the melee by disarming Daemon. Rhaenor that day felt a little bit proud in seeing his uncle defeated, but still it did not mean he liked ser criston either. Late in 105 AC, Rhaenyra's mother, Aemma, died birthing Rhaenyra's second brother, Prince Baelon, who died a day later. King Viserys then proclaimed Rhaenor his heir again, having all the lords of the Seven Kingdoms swear fealty to him, promising to honor and defend his rights of succession. In addition, Rhaenyra was named Princes of Dragonstone. (Much to Daemon's dismay.) In 106 AC, Daemon and Corlys Velaryon, Lord of the Tides, allied together for a private war for the Stepstones, with Daemon desiring his own kingdom and Corlys wanting to rid the Stepstones of rule by the Triarchy. While Corlys provided the Velaryon fleet, Daemon flew on his dragon, Caraxes, and led an army of adventurers and second sons. Rhaenor himself in the image of the crown, was sent by his father to brew what was occurring and he spent two to three years in those islands fighting alongside men. Daemon made many enemies from Lys, Myr, and Tyrosh, and he slew Craghas Drahar in 108 AC. After conquering all but two of the islands, Daemon declared himself King of the Stepstones and the Narrow Sea in 109 AC, being crowned by Corlys the Sea Snake. The Triarchy launched a massive fleet under Racallio Ryndoon to retake the isles, and Dorne joined the alliance against Daemon. To which by then Rhaenor had already returned to court. Bored with ruling his meager kingdom, Daemon returned to the capital of King's Landing in 111 AC during the tourney that gave the greens and the blacks their names. He reconciled with Viserys I Targaryen by offering him his Stepstones crown. Viserys I Targaryen welcomed his brother's return and Daemon was given a seat on the small council. Neither age or exile had changed Daemon's nature, however. He took up again with old companions in the City Watch and returned to the brothels on the Street of Silk. Daemon was cold with Viserys' second wife, Queen Alicent Hightower, and her children, who had pushed him further down in the line of succession. While Daemon did like to frustrate Rhaenor, he still prefered the Prince rather then Alicent and her half broods. Daemon truly does dislike the Hightowers, rather more Otto Hightower that Daemon calls a cunt with others of his own circle. King Viserys remarried in 106 AC, to Lady Alicent Hightower, and stepmother and step-son initially got along well. That changed when Alicent birthed the king two sons, Aegon in 107 AC and Aemond in 110 AC, yet Viserys did not proclaim either boy his heir. People continued to ask Viserys about the succession, though Viserys was unwilling to discuss it as there was nothing to discuss. Ser Otto Hightower, Alicent's father and Viserys's Hand, was sent away from court for pushing the issue too much. But even after he left, clearly two parties formed at court: the party of the Queen, and the party of the Prince. Rhaenor himself has a distaste for the Hightowers, more so now in current events. The young lady Alicent Hightower that he had meant to court after his return from the Stepstones war but upon returning he found the girl ripe with a child that was his father, King Viserys. Alicent had married Viserys, at the pressure of her own father, Otto Hightower the lord hand. And during Viserys time of morning in having Rhaenor's mother pass during labors, being gutted with permission to save the babe first that she carried— only for both to them pass. Alicent at the demands of her father, during Viserys mourning, during the times he spent alone, alicent gave her company in sympathy at first before her own father Otto had her offer more then simple "company". Rhaenor does like Otto, Rhaenor barely tolerates the man, and now Rhaenor does not even like Alicent much less. Rhaenor like a hypocrite does not place all the blame on his father Viserys, despite the man having fault aswell.
