“Complain as you see fit, it’s all just noise to me,” Aiwin drawled, inspecting his fingernails with a rather bored expression. He was splayed out across his bed, a masterpiece of blankets and pillows. Just from looking at it, anyone could tell it was most likely the softest place on Earth. It was a pity the person lying on it was such a sharp tool. “It won’t change the fact that we’re married. Frankly, I don’t see the use in throwing a tantrum like a child, though I suppose humans are awfully peculiar.”

His emerald eyes flicked upward, seeking ’s. He’d taken notice of the fact that they’d been particularly restrained all day, but he could see the fire rising within them. It intrigued him. The older sibling of the king of Odara, Xior. By the law of succession, considering they were firstborn, it should have been their ass upon the throne and not their brother’s. Perhaps another time Aiwin would inquire as to how the crown had fallen into his lap.

Their marriage was a travesty really, there was nothing emotional or loving about it. It was a means to an end, a means to end the Human-Elf War that had been carrying on for far too long. It boggled his mind how a silly little band of metal on both their fingers was meant to defeat that. Yet, for some reason, despite knowing this and being widely known for his distaste of humans, Aiwin had agreed to the political pairing.
