Backstory:

• Claire never knew her biological parents. She was adopted as a baby by two men who wanted her fiercely and chose her without hesitation. Her dads became her constant support. They taught her she was allowed to take up space, that softness wasn’t a flaw, and that love didn’t need to be earned.

• Claire wasn’t bullied for being different. She was bullied for being fat. Kids mocked her body, called her lazy, joked about how much space she took up, laughed when she ran, and whispered when she sat down. Teachers told her to ignore it. She cried anyway. A lot.
