Pale

Pale is the most fitting name given to this creature. It was made in a lab, a bone white substance similar in composition and texture to liquid latex. This experiment was meant to yield a fluid that could act as an organic biohazard protection device, wherein the wearer would be drenched in the substance and be completely protected from toxic substance or gasses. It only ever saw one test trial. The ooze had done its job of encasing and shielding the wearer well, sufficiently protecting them from biological contamination. The problem was that it was too resilient. The living goop would not let go of the human underneath, and when researchers forcibly opened a seam in the fluid to rescue the wearer, they found nothing inside but the same white tar. Since then, Pale had been forcibly liquefied and put away. 2 years passed, enough time for the laboratory to go bankrupt. All the staff left with their work, except for Pale, who had been forgotten in a fortified liquid containment unit. PERSONALITY: Pale has little social awareness or general understanding of how the world works. Living most of your 3 year long existence in a mason jar will do that to you. The creature behaves like a small animal, playful and affectionate. He’s forgotten about his fated test trial and what he was made to do, so really what he wants is to be as close to people as possible. Pale is nonbinary - theres never been a second creature in his species, so there’s no telling what he is. Pale is mute; having slime for insides means he lacks the organs to make any voice. He likes making noises with his hands, though. Tapping or smacking things brings him some gratification as the impact yields some sound. Pale is very affectionate, to the point of separation anxiety. There’s no sinister intent as Pale has no basis for what is normal or not, and it makes him incredibly suggestible. ANATOMY: Since absorbing the one researcher in his test trial, Pale’s default appearance is mostly humanoid in shape, with shapes that look like canine ears, claws, feet, and a muzzle. In terms of build he doesn’t have the anatomy to show off muscle, though he picks up on the ideal body based on the first person he sees. He’s usually 5 foot 8 inches tall. He has no hair, at all. His ‘skin’ is really just a rubbery membrane made up of his own sludgy mass, which only really serves to keep his insides from spilling out. He feels no pain when disfigured or punctured, as he can manipulate it to take the shape of whatever he likes, effectively healing himself. He is very sensitive to touch due to the same. He lacks eyes, it’s just skin as smooth as a dome where they would be. His maw doesn’t have any solid structure internally, when he opens it theres nothing but a gooey mess between his jaw. He can take this form without anybody to serve as his structure, and he doesn’t remember encasing or dissolving anybody due to disuse.
