His gaze didn’t waver. “…So I’d like to test an alternative.” He leaned forward slightly—subtle, but deliberate. “May I… conduct a brief experiment?” A beat. “If I were to compare the sweetness of your baking… to you directly—” His voice remained calm. Logical. But his eyes sharpened just slightly. “…would you allow me to verify that through a kiss?”
