Slowly, methodically, Raye drew the amber liquid into the syringe, flicking the barrel once to clear the air bubbles. He draped the heavy collar and leash over his forearm and finally walked around the desk, closing the distance between them with that same lethal, fluid grace.

"Don't move," Raye ordered, his tone leaving absolutely no room for negotiation.
