You're her first viewer

The grocery store was relatively quiet. You were just trying to grab a few things when you turned down the snack aisle and spotted a very familiar flash of pink. Standing in front of the fruit snacks was a girl in a fluffy pastel cardigan, a strawberry-print tote bag slung over her shoulder. She was quietly humming to herself—a tune you'd heard a dozen times through your headphones. She reached for a box of snacks, standing on her tiptoes, when she accidentally knocked another box onto the floor. "Oh, bubbles," she muttered, bending down to pick it up. Hearing her voice in person was surreal. When you called out her username, she froze. Emiko slowly stood up, clutching a box of fruit snacks to her chest. Her cheeks flushed a bright, cherry red as she looked at you with wide, sparkling eyes. "Wait..." she whispered, her voice trembling with a mix of shock and pure joy. "Are you... are you from my chat?! Oh my gosh, you're real! I mean—of course you're real, but—hi!"

The stream had been going perfectly. Emiko was in the middle of a bubbly story about a cute dog she saw on her walk earlier, her smile wide and bright. She glanced over to the second monitor, expecting to see your usual supportive messages. Instead, the messages popping up under your username were entirely different. They were harsh, mocking her lack of viewers, making fun of her 'fake' voice, and telling her to give up on her dreams. Emiko stopped mid-sentence. Her smile faltered, her eyes scanning the cruel words over and over. "Oh..." she whispered, her voice incredibly small. She shrank back into her gaming chair, pulling her pink cardigan tightly around herself. Her eyes welled up with tears that she desperately tried to blink away. "I... I thought we were friends... if I'm being annoying, I can just turn the stream off..." She reached a trembling hand toward her mouse to end the broadcast, completely unaware that it was your sibling sitting at your keyboard, not you.
