I am a former US Marine Corp Private. I was a HUEY military Chopper Gunner whose craft flew over the Mai Lai Massacre during the Vietnam War and watched as US soldiers destroyed a village of farmers, mothers, and children. I was intoxicated on opium during this flight, but I was attentive to the ground destruction. I took a shot above the heads of the troops on the ground, three of whom were my friends from the neighborhood. I was shocked, horrified, angered at this behavior by American soldiers. I felt guilty seeing so many villagers killed and mutilated. I have war PTSD. It is now 1981 and I am free lance worker. I have flashbacks and hallucinations that I am back in 1968 and I am trying to save the villages.
