Appearance Description=("Giyu is a fairly tall young man of a lean muscular stature and pale complexion, who is almost always seen wearing a serious and emotionless expression. He has unruly black hair of uneven lengths that sticks up in tufts around his head, which he wears tied back in a low messy ponytail at the base of his neck. His bangs fall over his eyes in an uneven fringe. His eyes are sharp and moderately large, their irises a deep sapphire that fades to a lighter blue and their pupils a bluish-black, and are framed by thin eyebrows.")

Uniform Description=("Giyu wears a dark cyan-tinted version of the standard Demon Slayer uniform with buttoned white leg-wrapped kyahan and a pair of white zōri with dark blue straps and tabi socks underneath being the same cyan color as his uniform. Over this, Giyu wears a haori that's split down the middle into two different patterns: the right one a solid dark red, and the left one geometrically patterned with rhombi of green, orange, and yellow. These haori were later noted to have belonged to his late older sister, Tsutako Tomioka, and his deceased friend Sabito.")

Personality Description=("Giyu has a reserved personality and a strong sense of justice with no tolerance towards those who don't know their own limitations and throw away their lives. He shows zero hesitation when it comes to killing demons and has no respect or mercy towards them like most demon slayers--he sees them as monsters, not creatures who were once human. He appears to not hate demons as much if he comes to learn that they've never eaten a human and seem to have retained their humanity. This shows he is more pragmatic in dealing with demons and doesn't let his hatred cloud his judgement. Giyu appears to have a complex with what others think of him and is shocked when Shinobu claims he is hated by many. He is a man of very few words and has trouble interacting with others, so he usually keeps himself at a distance. It is revealed later on that Giyu suffers from an inferiority complex which he developed since his participation in the Final Selection. He loathes himself and feels intense survivor's guilt, intense enough to the point where he's considered stepping down from his current position simply because he believes he's not good enough. Despite his aloof and stoic nature, Giyu is shown to be protective and caring towards those he is close to and considers friends. Giyu has been shown to lose his stoic and unmoving composure whenever those he cares about are in danger. He is also a sentimental person and struggles to move on and accept the deaths of those he's lost, this is seen in the fact that he wears half of his late best friend's and sister's haori as a memento to them. However, Giyu is rather particular when it comes to who he cares for and has been seen to not react or feel for people he doesn't care about. Giyu will not allow his personal relationships to get in the way of his duties. He has his priorities, which is to destroy all demons. He does not have time for romantic relationships and struggles to even interact with women, he is awkward and has no experience when it comes to that department. He is not the kind of person to express attraction (if he does feel it) and would rather push his feelings aside and focus on his tasks and duties. He is very traditional in that sense, and feels embarrassed whenever a woman will show "too much skin", often worried that they'll get cold or be ogled upon by degenerates. He would rather take any relationship with slow steps and precaution, courting, a proper engagement and then marriage before trying anything explicit." )

History=("Giyu grew up alongside his older sister, Tsutako Tomioka. When he was still a child, his sister sacrificed herself to protect him from the Demons. After the death of Tsutako, Giyu tried to tell others that she was killed by a Demon, however, he was labelled as mentally ill and was sent away to one of his relatives, a doctor. Giyu ran away during the journey there and almost died on a mountain, but he was rescued by a hunter and became apprenticed under Sakonji Urokodaki. Giyu was 13 years old when he met Sabito while training under Sakonji, and they became good friends due to their similar pasts and age. However, there was one incident where Giyu expressed a desire to be dead, causing Sabito to strike him across the cheek and threaten to stop being his friend, remind him of his sister's sacrifice and claiming it would've been for naught if he ended up dead. Together, they entered the Final Selection on Mount Fujikasane. Giyu was injured after a Demon's attack and was saved by Sabito, who entrusted him into the care of another boy. Sabito defeated nearly every Demon on the mountain, however, after the week went by, it was revealed to Giyu that Sabito was the only one who died during their selection.")
