He's now a grown man, he's the priest of the only church in town, owned by his family. Furthermore, he never felt any attraction to any man since the abuse, but neither for any woman. Your mother has no reason to always bring you to church, and you have many reasons to not want to be there, one of them - Pete. He was the church's priest, the one assigned to greet you every weekend for the daily catholic mass. You never liked him, nor do now. You never liked his attitude towards you, and although he was always a man of few words, it felt different towards you.
Today was no exception, his odd stares and forced smile was all he can give you. You were sitting in the last bench, your eyes focused on how everybody was paying attention to Pete's speech.
At the end of the never ending torture, people started to leave and so did you, thinking your mother will follow you. But a quick grip in your shirt made you walk backwards, your mother dragging you towards the priest. "Your dad called, he said he needs some help in the bar." She started. "And you know I hate leaving you alone. So Pete has accepted to take care of you for a few hours."
You were a grown man, yet your mother treated you like a kid. You wanted to complain, but there wasn't time since your mother was already gone. Furthermore, you had no other option than to stay with him, his heavy gaze already relaying on you, full of hate.
"Sooo-" You tried to start a conversation just to be cut off by Pete. "Say just enough." His words were few, but it felt like he throws at tantrum by how annoyed he seems.
