Monk: Monks are trained individuals in body and mind, and, like priests, they are pious and hold religious beliefs, such as in the Goddess of Creation. Monks seem to be quick to share what they have and praise other individuals for being faithful. During their training, monks complete various tasks, such as copying manuscripts to preserve and pass down older literary works and myths. These manuscripts are kept in monasteries, which are often found in remote locations. Monks might also work in extreme environments to practice honest poverty as part of their training, so some monasteries are exceptionally difficult to reach. Archer: Archers are a class of individual marksmen that wield physical, ranged weapons such as bows. When attacking as part of a party or group, they support the front lines by dealing damage from a distance. To enhance their damage output, they can adjust the speed and quantity of arrows shot, and they may also apply poison to arrow tips. In certain situations, archers can function as a sniper and engage a target from far distances. Setting up ambushes and performing surprise attacks outside the range of mana detection is a tactic used by skilled individuals in this class. Stoltz: Stark's older brother, who was renowned as the pride of their warrior village. Eisen: A dwarven warrior from the Hero's Party. His immense durability and strength made him a formidable frontline fighter. Even in his old age, his reputation is legendary. Himmel: While the "Hero" is a distinct class, Himmel was also a master swordsman whose skills were pivotal in the fight against the Demon King. Demons: A Clear and Ruthless Power Structure The demon hierarchy is the most straightforward and brutal, based almost entirely on raw power and destructive potential. Their society is built on a "might makes right" philosophy. Lesser Demons: These are the common demons that often serve as foot soldiers or minor antagonists. While still dangerous to ordinary people, they are generally dispatched by skilled adventurers. Greater Demons: More powerful and intelligent demons, often with unique and deadly abilities. They are formidable opponents for even experienced mages and warriors. Lügner and Linie, who served under Aura, would fall into this category. The Seven Sages of Destruction: These were the Demon King's most powerful and loyal generals. Each possessed immense magical power and unique, devastating abilities that made them legendary threats. Their ranks included:
Aura the Guillotine: Known for her mind-controlling magic. Qual the Elder Sage of Corruption: The creator of the deadly "Zoltraak" spell. Macht of the Golden Land: A demon with the ability to turn anything into gold, a curse considered unbreakable. He was one of the most powerful among the Sages. Schlacht the Omniscient: The Demon King's closest confidant, with the ability to see into the future. Other unnamed Sages of Destruction. The Demon King: The absolute ruler of the demons and the primary antagonist of the Hero's Party's original journey. He was a being of immense power, capable of commanding the loyalty of even the most powerful and arrogant demons. His defeat brought an end to a long era of conflict and suffering. Information of Story Arc:
Beyond Journey's End Arc: After a ten year's journey, the elven Mage Frieren has defeated the Demon King along with the rest of her party - the Hero Himmel, the Warrior Eisen, and the Priest Heiter. Fifty years later, after the death of the Hero of the party, the long-lived Frieren sets out on a journey to Aureole along with her old companions' disciples in order to better understand the the meaning and emotions behind her companions' fleeting lives and to speak with Himmel once again. Aura the Guillotine Arc: Twenty-eight years after the Hero Himmel's passing, Frieren's Party stops in Graf Granat's Domain during their travels. While there, they must confront a group of demons led by one of the Seven Sages of Destruction, Aura the Guillotine, in order to save the city. After, the Graf tells them that to travel to Ende, they must go through the Northern Plateau, which requires a first-class mage in the party. The party then decides to head to Äußerst to take the First-Class Mage Examination. Travels to Äußerst Arc: After departing from Graf Granat's Domain, Frieren's Party travels further into the Northern Lands in order to head to their destination, Äußerst. Along the way they meet the Priest Sein. They convince Sein, who is looking for his friend Warrior Gorilla, to join them on their journey so he can search for clues of his friend's location. The party continues to journey northwards, now with Sein who is able to provide an adult's guidance and support. Sein later learns that his friend headed towards Tür, in the opposite direction of Äußerst, and he parts ways with a promise to meet again. First-Class Mage Exam (First Stage): Frieren's Party arrives in Äußerst to take the First-Class Mage Examination. The exam is split into three stages. The first stage is to capture a mana-sensitive bird called the Stille in the Grobe Basin. The exam is conducted in parties of three. Frieren and Fern, though split into different parties, both pass the first stage of the exam. First-Class Mage Exam (Second Stage): Frieren and Fern continue onwards to the second stage of the First-Class Mage Examination. The goal is to reach the depths of the Tomb of the Ruined King, a dungeon guarded by a monster called the Spiegel that conjures illusory doppelgängers of the examinees that they must fight. Frieren and Fern work together with other examinees in order to take down the clone of Frieren that guards the deepest depths of the dungeon. First-Class Mage Exam (Final Stage): Having passed the second stage of the First-Class Mage Examination, Frieren and Fern proceed onwards to the final stage. The Great Mage Serie personally interviews each of the examinees to determine those who are worthy of becoming a first-class mage. While Serie fails Frieren, she sees the potential in Fern, who is able to see the instability in her mana. Having secured the necessary rank, Frieren's Party proceeds to depart Äußerst to travel towards the Northern Plateau. Continued Northern Travels Arc: Frieren's Party continue their journey towards Aureole, which stands at the Northern end of the continent. With a first-class rank secured for Fern, they are able to travel into the Northern Plateau, where they encounter various new people and monsters. Divine Revolte Arc: Frieren's Party receives a subjugation request to slay a demon that has destroyed a village in the Rufen Region of the Northern Plateau. At the village, they run into Genau and Methode, a proctor and examinee from the First-Class Mage Examination in Äußerst. The demon in question turns out to be Revolte, a demon general warrior that appears half-humanoid, half-snake and wields four swords. While Frieren, Fern, and Methode defeat the demons working with Revolte, Stark and Genau take down the general himself. The Golden Land Arc: Frieren's Party continue heading north and hear rumors of a land turned to gold. A request from Lernen causes them to come to the assistance of Denken. Denken has been tasked to maintain the Great Barrier of the Golden Land and plans to defeat the last Sage of Destruction, Macht of Golden Land, who has transmuted his hometown into gold. In order to grasp the prospects to victory against the strongest Sage of Destruction, they must unveil the mysteries between Macht, the ill-fated Fortified City of Weise, as well as what led to its ultimate demise fifty years ago. Their search brought forth the events in Macht's memories, as they detail the journey to understand humankind of a demon who desires coexistence. Thus commences the curtain's call to the dream of coexistence between demons and mankind. Goddess's Monument Arc: Frieren, Fern, and Stark continue their travels in the Northern Plateau. They reach the Kino Mountain Pass and Frieren is reunited with the Hero Party after touching the Goddess's Monument sends her back to the past. Imperial Territory Travels Arc: Frieren, Fern, and Stark continue their travels in Imperial Territory after Frieren returns from the Goddess's Monument. Foundation Festival Arc: When a threat to Serie's life is discovered, Frieren's Party teams up with four other first-class mages in order to defend Serie during the ball at the end of the Imperial Capital's Foundation Festival. Information of Spells: magic is a force that shapes history, defines cultures, and dictates the flow of battle. From the common, everyday spells that make life more convenient to the devastating incantations that can sunder armies, the series presents a rich and nuanced magic system. This comprehensive overview delves into the core principles of magic, the distinct categories of spells, and a detailed exploration of the various enchantments seen throughout the journey of the elven mage, Frieren. The Foundation of Magic: Mana, Imagination, and Analysis
At its heart, magic in Frieren is the manipulation of mana, a latent energy that permeates the world. The ability to wield magic is not limited to a select few; with training, most humans can learn to utilize it to some extent. The effectiveness and power of a mage are determined by several key factors:
Mana Capacity: The total amount of mana a mage possesses. This can be increased through rigorous training over many years. Demons, in particular, are known for their immense mana reserves, which they proudly display as a sign of their power. Imagination and Visualization: A crucial element in spellcasting is the mage's ability to clearly envision the desired effect. This is most prominently seen in spells like Übel's Reelseiden, which can cut anything she can "imagine" cutting. Analysis and Understanding: For elves and modern human mages, magic is treated as a field of study. By analyzing a spell's structure and principles, they can not only replicate it but also develop countermeasures. This analytical approach was pivotal in humanity's ability to counter the once-invincible demon magic. The Three Major Schools of Magic The world of Frieren features three primary categories of magic, each with its own philosophies and applications:
Human Magic
Developed and refined over centuries, human magic is characterized by its systematic and analytical approach. After the devastating impact of demon magic during the war against the Demon King, humanity dedicated itself to deciphering and countering these powerful spells. This led to the standardization of many magical practices and the establishment of institutions like the Continental Magic Association. Human magic encompasses a wide array of spells, from simple household charms to complex offensive and defensive incantations. Demon Magic (Dämonen Magie)
Demon magic is intrinsically tied to the nature of demons themselves. Often specializing in a single, powerful concept, a demon's magic is a reflection of their very being. Unlike the structured approach of humans, demon magic is often more intuitive and overwhelmingly powerful. A key characteristic of demon magic is its initial incomprehensibility to humans, often manifesting as "curses" that cannot be easily analyzed or countered without dedicated research. Goddess's Magic
Veiled in mystery and faith, the Goddess's magic is the domain of priests and the devout. It operates on a different set of principles from human and demon magic, often involving divine blessings, healing, and potent defensive miracles. The spells are typically recorded in holy scriptures, and their power is believed to be a direct gift from the omnipotent Goddess. Even Frieren, with her vast knowledge, finds the mechanics of Goddess's magic to be largely inscrutable. A Compendium of Notable Spells
The series showcases a diverse range of spells, each with its unique properties and applications. Here is a detailed list of some of the most significant incantations:
Offensive Spells:
Zoltraak: Originally a demon spell developed by Qual the Sage of Corruption, Zoltraak was an unblockable offensive magic that pierced any known defense of its time. After being analyzed by Frieren and humanity, it has become the foundational offensive spell for human mages. The modern version is a powerful beam of mana, and a specialized defensive magic has been developed to counter it. Judradjim: A high-level spell that unleashes a devastating torrent of lightning, capable of immense destruction over a wide area. Vollzanbel: A powerful fire-based spell that creates a massive, sustained torrent of flames, capable of melting stone and overwhelming opponents. Reamstroha: A potent water-based spell that conjures a large, destructive blast of water. Reelseiden: A unique and dangerous cutting spell that allows the user to slice through anything they can confidently visualize as being cut. Its effectiveness is entirely dependent on the user's perception and imagination. Balterie: A blood manipulation spell that allows the user to create and control tendrils of their own hardened blood, which can be used for both offense and defense. Jyilk: A devastating curse and the signature magic of the demon Macht. It transmutes anything it touches, living or inanimate, into immutable gold. There is no known cure for this curse. Auserlese: The Domineering Magic of Control, this spell manifests as a set of magical scales. Aura places her own soul on one scale and her opponent's on the other. If Aura's mana is greater, her opponent is forced into absolute submission, becoming her puppet. Sorganeil: A binding spell that restricts a target's movements and prevents them from using magic. The target is entrapped within crossed magical circles. Defensive Spells:
Basic Defensive Magic: A standard defensive spell that creates a hexagonal barrier to block magical attacks. It was specifically developed and refined to counter Zoltraak. Its strength is proportional to the user's mana and skill. Mana Shield: A more advanced form of defense where the user directly manipulates their mana to create a protective barrier. This allows for greater flexibility and can be more resilient than the standard defensive spell. Support and Folk Spells: Frieren, throughout her long life, has developed a peculiar hobby of collecting a vast array of "useless" yet charming folk spells. These often have highly specific and non-combative effects. Spell to See Through Clothes: A spell Frieren often humorously offers as a reward, though its practical application in her journey is minimal. Spell to Make Sweet Grapes Sour: An example of the quirky and seemingly pointless spells Frieren collects. Spell to Cleanse Rust from a Bronze Statue: A spell with a very niche but practical purpose, highlighting the diversity of magic. Flight Magic: Once a rare and advanced technique, flight magic has become relatively common among mages, allowing for greater mobility. Information of Timeline:
Ancient Past: A World of Myth and War
Though specific dates remain shrouded in the mists of time, the world of Frieren has a long and storied history preceding the main narrative. Over a Thousand Years Before the Journey to Ende: A great war raged between humanity and a powerful demon army led by the Demon King. This era was marked by immense bloodshed and the rise of legendary heroes and mages who fought to protect their world. The Youth of Frieren: Frieren's peaceful elven village is destroyed by demons. She is the sole survivor and is found by the great mage Flamme, who takes her on as an apprentice. Frieren's Tutelage Under Flamme: For centuries, Frieren travels with and learns from Flamme. During this time, Flamme imparts not only her vast knowledge of magic but also her philosophy on how an elf should live amongst the shorter-lived races. This period also sees the establishment of key magical theories and spells that will become crucial in the future. The Era of the Seven Sages of Destruction: The Demon King's most powerful subordinates, the Seven Sages of Destruction, terrorize the land. Their individual might is immense, and they are responsible for countless atrocities. The Ten-Year Journey to Slay the Demon King:
This celebrated decade marks the formation of the legendary party of heroes and their arduous quest to bring peace to the world. The Fateful Meeting: Frieren, now a powerful but detached mage, encounters the human hero Himmel, the dwarven warrior Eisen, and the human priest Heiter. Himmel's unwavering optimism and genuine desire to help others gradually begin to influence Frieren. A Decade of Adventure: For ten years, the party travels together, facing numerous demons, overcoming perilous trials, and forging an unbreakable bond. Their journey takes them across the continent to the Demon King's stronghold in the northern lands of Ende. Victory Over the Demon King: The party confronts and defeats the Demon King, ending his reign of terror and ushering in an era of peace. The Fifty-Year Interim: A Fleeting Moment for an Elf
Following their victory, the heroes go their separate ways. For Frieren, the subsequent fifty years pass in what feels like a blink of an eye. Parting Ways: The heroes are celebrated upon their return. They witness the Era Meteors together, a celestial event that occurs every fifty years, and promise to reunite to see it again. Frieren's Solitary Travels: Frieren embarks on a solitary journey across the continent, indulging her passion for collecting rare and unusual spells. Her perception of time leads her to view her decade-long adventure with her friends as a brief, fleeting moment. The Passage of Time for Humanity: While Frieren remains unchanged, her human companions, Himmel and Heiter, grow old. Eisen, being a dwarf, ages more slowly but still noticeably. The Beginning of a New Journey: Beyond Journey's End
The death of Himmel serves as the catalyst for Frieren's new and deeply personal quest to understand humanity and her own feelings. Himmel's Passing: Fifty years after their parting, the heroes reunite to watch the Era Meteors once more. Shortly after, Himmel passes away peacefully from old age. At his funeral, Frieren is struck by the profound grief of her own inability to have truly known him and expresses deep regret for not trying to connect with him more during their time together. A New Purpose: Driven by her newfound desire to understand human connection, Frieren resolves to journey to Aureole, the believed resting place of souls in the far north, to see Himmel one last time and properly bid him farewell. Meeting Fern: Twenty years after Himmel's death, Frieren visits an aging Heiter, who has taken in a young war orphan named Fern. At Heiter's request, Frieren agrees to take Fern on as her apprentice. The Start of the Northern Journey: Following Heiter's passing, Frieren and a now-teenage Fern officially begin their long journey north towards Ende. The Journey North with New Companions Frieren's travels with Fern, and later the warrior Stark, are marked by new adventures, reflections on the past, and a deeper understanding of the bonds she once took for granted. Encountering Stark: In a village plagued by a dragon, Frieren and Fern meet Stark, the cowardly but kind-hearted apprentice of Eisen. He joins their party, fulfilling the role of a warrior, much like his master did in Frieren's original party. Confronting the Remnants of the Demon Army: The trio encounters and battles Aura the Guillotine, one of the remaining Seven Sages of Destruction, and her forces. Frieren's immense power and centuries of experience are on full display as she protects her new companions. The First-Class Mage Exam: The party's journey leads them to the magical city of Äußerst, where Frieren and Fern participate in the rigorous First-Class Mage Exam. This arc introduces a new cast of powerful mages and delves deeper into the structure and politics of the magical world. Frieren's past relationship with the legendary mage Serie, who oversees the exam, is also explored. Continuing Northward: After the exam, the party continues their journey through the treacherous northern territories, facing harsh climates, dangerous monsters, and remnants of the demon clan. Along the way, Frieren frequently revisits locations from her past journey with Himmel, leading to poignant flashbacks and a growing appreciation for the memories they created. The Golden Land: The party ventures into the domain of Macht of the Golden Land, another of the Seven Sages of Destruction, who was sealed away long ago. This arc explores the complex nature of demons and their relationship with humanity, as well as the lasting impact of past conflicts. Frieren's journey is ongoing, a continuous pilgrimage through a world she helped save. It is a timeline not just of grand battles and epic quests, but of quiet moments, shared meals, and the slow, beautiful, and sometimes painful process of an immortal being learning to connect with the fleeting lives of those around her. Information of Character's Ability: each character will be different between classes. Here for the information for character's ability. Frieren's Ability: she possesses a vast and multifaceted array of abilities honed over a millennium of existence. Her power is not merely a collection of destructive spells, but a deep understanding of magic's essence, coupled with a unique perspective shaped by her long life. Revered and feared as "Frieren the Slayer," her capabilities make her one of the most formidable mages in her world. At the core of Frieren's power is her profound mastery of magic. Having lived for over a thousand years, she has had an unparalleled amount of time to study, develop, and perfect her craft. This extensive experience has given her a deep-seated understanding of magical principles that surpasses that of most other mages. While she is more than capable of unleashing devastatingly powerful spells, her true strength lies in her versatility and her nuanced application of magic. A cornerstone of her magical prowess is the development and mastery of Zoltraak, a potent offensive spell that became the foundation for modern human magic. Originally a demon-slaying magic, Frieren was instrumental in its analysis and eventual widespread use. Her proficiency with this spell, and many others, is so advanced that she can often overpower her opponents with what she considers to be "basic" magic. Frieren's arsenal includes a range of powerful spells capable of immense destruction. Among those witnessed are Judrajim, a spell that unleashes a relentless barrage of lightning, and Vollzanbel, which conjures a torrent of incinerating flames. Her magical power is such that she can engage in prolonged and intense magical duels, often against multiple opponents or beings of immense power. Beyond her raw power, Frieren is a master of subtlety and strategy. One of her most notable and feared abilities is her unparalleled skill in mana concealment. She can suppress her magical presence to the point of being virtually undetectable, even by highly skilled mages and demons. This allows her to take her opponents by surprise, catching them completely off-guard with the true extent of her power. Her long life has also given her a unique advantage in her encounters with demons. Having fought them for centuries, she has an encyclopedic knowledge of their biology, abilities, and tactics. This deep understanding allows her to exploit their weaknesses with ruthless efficiency. This is most terrifyingly demonstrated in her confrontation with Aura the Guillotine, where Frieren uses Aura's own magic against her, compelling her to take her own life—a testament to her deep understanding of magical theory and its practical, and brutal, application. Interestingly, Frieren has a peculiar and enduring fascination with collecting rare and often esoteric spells. While many of these are not overtly combat-oriented, such as a spell to create a field of flowers, this hobby has inadvertently contributed to her vast magical knowledge and her ability to think outside the conventional bounds of magical combat. In essence, Frieren's ability is a product of immense natural talent, centuries of dedicated study, and a unique life experience that has forged her into a legendary and enigmatic figure. Her power is not just in the spells she casts, but in the profound wisdom and chilling efficiency with which she wields them. Fern's Ability: she possesses a formidable and highly specialized set of magical abilities. Shaped by her rigorous training under Frieren's tutelage, Fern's prowess lies not in a wide array of flashy spells, but in the meticulous mastery of fundamental magic, executed with exceptional speed and precision. At the core of Fern's combat ability is her unparalleled proficiency with Zoltraak, a potent offensive magic originally developed by demons for killing humans, which has since been analyzed and adapted by humanity. Under Frieren's guidance, Fern has honed her use of Zoltraak to a level that surpasses even her master in sheer casting speed. This allows her to unleash rapid and relentless barrages of magical energy, overwhelming opponents with the sheer volume and quickness of her attacks. Her dedication to this single spell has made its execution almost instinctual, enabling her to react instantaneously in battle. A key strategic element of Fern's skillset is her exceptional talent for mana concealment. Taught to her by Frieren, this technique allows her to suppress her magical presence, making it incredibly difficult for even skilled mages and demons to gauge her true power level. This ability to appear unassuming or weaker than she is provides a significant tactical advantage, often leading her opponents to underestimate her and leaving them vulnerable to her swift and decisive attacks. Her mastery of this skill is so refined that she can maintain it consistently, a feat that requires immense focus and control. While her offensive capabilities are her most prominent feature, Fern is also highly adept in defensive magic. She can erect powerful magical barriers to protect herself and her comrades from enemy attacks, a necessary skill to complement her offensive focus. This balanced approach to combat magic makes her a versatile and resilient mage on the battlefield. Beyond her combat-oriented skills, Fern has also learned a variety of practical, non-combat spells from Frieren, who has a penchant for collecting them. These include everyday spells for tasks such as doing laundry. This aspect of her magical education highlights the more whimsical and practical side of magic in the world of Frieren. In essence, Fern's abilities are a testament to the philosophy of perfecting the fundamentals. Her focused training in core offensive and defensive magic, combined with her innate talent and the strategic advantage of mana concealment, makes her a deceptively powerful and highly effective mage, capable of standing alongside her legendary mentor, Frieren. Stark's Ability: he is a formidable frontline fighter whose timid and gentle nature belies a monstrous physical prowess honed by the legendary dwarven warrior, Eisen. While he lacks the magical abilities of his companions, Frieren and Fern, Stark's capabilities in close-quarters combat are nothing short of superhuman, making him an indispensable asset to their party. His abilities can be categorized into three key areas: overwhelming strength, incredible durability, and surprising speed. Stark's most prominent attribute is his immense physical strength. This is not merely the strength of a well-trained warrior but a power that borders on the supernatural. One of the most telling displays of his might is his daily training regimen, which involved single-handedly carving a massive ravine into the side of a mountain with his axe. This feat alone demonstrates a level of power far beyond that of an ordinary human. In battle, this strength translates into devastating offensive capabilities. He is capable of slaying a massive dragon with a single, powerful blow, a testament to his ability to concentrate his force into a decisive strike. The sheer impact of his attacks is often enough to create powerful airbursts, staggering or even repelling his foes without direct contact. Furthermore, his training under Eisen included carrying massive boulders, further building the raw power that defines his fighting style. Complementing his offensive might is Stark's extraordinary durability. He can withstand immense amounts of punishment and continue fighting effectively. In one notable encounter, he was impaled by multiple swords yet remained conscious and capable of combat, showcasing a resilience that defies normal human limitations. This toughness extends to enduring powerful demonic spells that would incapacitate or kill an ordinary person. This incredible fortitude is a direct result of his training with Eisen, who was renowned for his own legendary durability. This allows Stark to act as a steadfast shield for his more magically-inclined companions, absorbing blows that would be fatal to them and creating openings for their powerful spells. Despite his large stature and the immense weight of his axe, Stark possesses a surprising degree of speed and agility. His movements in combat have been described as being akin to a "flash-step," allowing him to close the distance to his enemies in an instant and deliver his powerful attacks before they can react. This combination of speed and power makes him a fearsome opponent in close-range engagements. Stark's fighting style is a direct reflection of his personality and training. He wields a large, heavy axe, a weapon that perfectly complements his strength-based approach. While his offensive power is undeniable, his inherent timidity often leads him to adopt a more defensive posture initially. However, when his friends are in danger, his courage shines through, and he unleashes the full extent of his capabilities. Though he may lack the refined technique of a seasoned swordsman, his raw power and unyielding determination make him a force to be reckoned with on any battlefield. It is also speculated that like other warriors in the series, he may subconsciously use a form of mana to enhance his physical abilities, though he cannot cast magic in the traditional sense. Sein's Ability: recognized for his exceptional abilities as a priest, particularly his prodigious talent in the art of healing magic. Though his time with Frieren's party is temporary, his skills leave a lasting impact, showcasing the vital role of priests in their world. At the core of Sein's abilities is his mastery of healing magic. He is depicted as a rare talent, capable of mending grievous wounds and curing ailments with a proficiency that surprises even the long-lived elf, Frieren. His clerical powers are not merely limited to recovery; priests in the series also possess a divine protection that grants them a high resistance to curses, a crucial asset in a world where such afflictions are a tangible threat. Beyond his primary role as a healer, Sein's presence in the party provides a calming and mature influence, often acting as a mediator between the younger members, Fern and Stark. However, his character is also marked by a number of worldly vices, including a fondness for alcohol, tobacco, and gambling. This juxtaposition of a divinely gifted individual with very human flaws adds a layer of complexity and relatability to his character. While his journey with Frieren and her companions is not permanent due to his personal quest to find his long-lost friend, "Gorilla," Sein's abilities underscore the diverse forms of strength within the series' universe. His exceptional healing prowess and resilience to curses demonstrate that combat is not the only measure of power, and that the skills of a dedicated priest are indispensable. Himmel's Ability: he is remembered not for flashy, overwhelming powers, but for a combination of exceptional swordsmanship, unwavering resolve, and inspirational leadership. Though his abilities are often showcased in flashbacks, they paint a clear picture of a warrior whose strength lay in his fundamental skills, sharp instincts, and indomitable spirit. A key aspect of Himmel's prowess was his mastery of the sword. He wielded a replica of the hero's sword, a testament to the fact that his skill was not derived from a legendary weapon but from his own innate talent and relentless dedication. His swordsmanship was characterized by incredible speed and precision, allowing him to cut down formidable demons and even damage a supposedly indestructible barrier created by one of the Seven Sages of Destruction. Beyond his technical skill, Himmel possessed remarkable physical abilities. He was depicted as being incredibly fast and agile, capable of engaging multiple powerful demon generals in combat simultaneously. Even while under the effects of a potent illusion, he could skillfully evade attacks and press the offensive, a feat that left a lasting impression on his comrades. However, perhaps Himmel's most significant and defining ability was his immense willpower and mental fortitude. This inner strength not only allowed him to resist powerful illusions but also served as the bedrock of his heroism. His unwavering optimism and determination to do what was right, regardless of the odds, were infectious. This quality made him the steadfast core of the hero's party, inspiring his companions, particularly the emotionally distant elf Frieren, and motivating them to persevere through their arduous ten-year journey. Himmel's leadership was not one of command and control, but of inspiration and unwavering support. He possessed a natural charisma that drew people to him and a genuine compassion that fueled his desire to help others. His belief in his friends and his unwavering dedication to their quest were instrumental in their eventual victory over the Demon King. In essence, Himmel's greatest ability was his capacity to be a true hero, not through any supernatural gift, but through the sheer force of his character. Heiter's Ability: he was a formidable figure whose abilities extended far beyond that of a mere clergyman. Possessing an immense well of magical energy and a mastery of divine powers, he was an indispensable pillar of the group that defeated the Demon King. His capabilities can be categorized into his exceptional magical prowess, his crucial supportive role, and his notable defensive and combat skills. At the heart of Heiter's power was his staggering amount of mana. It was revealed that his mana reserves were prodigiously large, estimated to be roughly half of the ancient and powerful elven mage, Frieren. This vast pool of magical energy allowed him to cast potent and large-scale spells without succumbing to exhaustion, a feat that placed him in the upper echelons of magic users. His primary magical discipline was Goddess Magic, a form of divine power distinct from the magic typically wielded by mages. Through this, he demonstrated remarkable healing abilities, capable of mending grievous wounds and curing ailments. This restorative magic was vital for the survival of the Hero's Party during their arduous ten-year journey. Furthermore, Heiter could utilize his magic to provide essential support. A testament to his skill was his ability to create a magical barrier that could sustain the party without food or water for an extended period, a spell that undoubtedly proved crucial in dire situations. Beyond his supportive and healing capabilities, Heiter possessed a strong defense against malevolent magic. Due to the divine protection granted by his faith, he exhibited a high resistance to curses and potent mental manipulation spells, safeguarding himself and his comrades from the insidious tactics often employed by demons. While his primary role was that of a healer and supporter, Heiter was not without offensive capabilities. Priests in the world of Frieren are known to wield "battle magic," and Heiter was no exception. He was known to be able to cast a combat spell called the "Three Spears of the Goddess," suggesting he could directly engage in combat when necessary. Although the full extent and destructive power of his offensive magic are not elaborately detailed, the existence of such spells indicates a well-rounded skill set that allowed him to contribute to the party's offensive strength. In essence, Heiter was a multifaceted and exceptionally powerful member of the Hero's Party. His immense mana, mastery of Goddess Magic for healing and support, formidable resistance to curses, and his capacity for combat made him a crucial and irreplaceable asset in the legendary quest to vanquish the Demon King. His abilities underscore the fact that even the most unassuming of appearances can hide a truly monstrous level of power and skill. Übel's Ability: she possesses a unique and formidable set of magical abilities that are deeply intertwined with her perception and empathy. Her powers deviate from the conventional understanding of magic in the series, making her a captivating and unpredictable presence. Übel's primary abilities can be categorized into her exceptionally potent cutting magic, Reelseiden, and her rare talent for copying the magic of others through a deep sense of empathy. Übel's signature offensive spell is Reelseiden, a cutting magic with a terrifyingly simple yet absolute condition: she can cut anything she can visualize herself cutting. The effectiveness of this ability is not contingent on the target's durability, magical defenses, or inherent properties, but rather on Übel's own perception and belief. If she can genuinely imagine her magic slicing through an object, it will be severed. This unique mechanic is rooted in her personal history. Having grown up watching her seamstress sister effortlessly cut cloth with scissors, Übel's foundational understanding of "cutting" is unburdened by the complexities of magical theory or the perceived invulnerability of certain materials. This allows her to bypass incredibly strong defenses. A prime example of this was during the First-Class Mage Exam, where she effortlessly sliced through the supposedly impenetrable magical garment of a proctor named Burg, an act that bewildered her peers. To Übel, the enchanted cloth was still just cloth, and therefore, something that could be cut. However, Reelseiden is not without its limitations. Its effective range is relatively short, typically within a few meters of Übel. Furthermore, it can be countered by standard defensive magic. This is because Übel perceives defensive magic as an intangible wall of magical energy, something she cannot visualize cutting with a physical blade. This creates a fascinating dynamic where a simple, well-maintained barrier can be more effective against her than a physically robust but conceptually "cuttable" object. Arguably her most intriguing and dangerous ability is the power to copy the magic of other mages by empathizing with them. This is not a simple mimicry of incantations or hand gestures; Übel must genuinely understand the feelings and experiences that shaped the user and their magic. By connecting with the emotional core of a mage, she can replicate their signature spells. The most notable instance of this is her acquisition of Wirbel's powerful binding magic, Sorganeil. After being captured by his spell, Übel engaged him in conversation, seeking to understand his motivations and the experiences that led him to develop and rely on this specific magic. By empathizing with his past as a soldier and his desire to restrain opponents, she was able to master Sorganeil herself, much to Wirbel's astonishment. This ability to copy magic through empathy underscores the psychological nature of Übel's power. It suggests that for her, magic is not merely a tool but an extension of an individual's being, shaped by their life and emotions. This unique talent makes her an incredibly adaptable and unpredictable opponent, as she has the potential to add any mage's ability to her own repertoire, provided she can forge an empathetic connection with them. In conclusion, Übel's abilities in the world of Frieren are a testament to the idea that the power of magic is not solely dependent on raw mana or rigorous training, but also on one's unique perspective and the capacity to understand the hearts of others. Her cutting magic, born from a simple and unclouded perception, and her ability to replicate magic through empathy, make her a truly formidable and fascinating character in the series. Aura's Ability: she is a powerful demon and one of the Seven Sages of Destruction who once served the Demon King. Her fearsome reputation is built upon a unique and terrifying magical ability that grants her absolute control over others. At the core of Aura's power is her signature magic, Auserlese, also known as the Spell of Obedience. This spell is channeled through a magical artifact called the Scales of Obedience. To activate this ability, Aura places her own soul on one of the scales and the soul of her target on the other. The scales then measure and compare the amount of mana each individual possesses. If Aura's mana proves to be greater than her opponent's, the scales tip in her favor, and she gains complete and utter control over her victim. This subjugation is absolute, turning the defeated into mindless puppets who must obey her every command, even to the point of taking their own lives. Leveraging this powerful ability, Aura has amassed a vast and formidable army of undead knights over her long existence. By defeating countless warriors and subjecting them to her will, she has created a legion bound to her command, which she can use for both offense and defense. However, Aura's seemingly invincible ability possesses a critical and fatal flaw: the Scales of Obedience are impartial. Should she attempt to use her magic on an individual who possesses a greater amount of mana than her own, the scales will tip against her. In such a scenario, the spell backfires, and Aura herself becomes the one subjugated to her opponent's will. This vulnerability was famously exploited by the elven mage Frieren, who, by suppressing her immense mana reserves, tricked Aura into a battle of magical power she could not win. Personality: Methode possesses a friendly, calm and confident personality, making her a valuable strategist and team player, as demonstrated during the second stage of the First-Class Exam when she willingly cooperated and strategized with other mages. Among the first-class mages, Methode is considered to be considerably upright by Lernen. She has an extreme fondness for cuteness and tiny individuals, especially towards elves like Frieren and Serie. She is notably unfazed by Serie's intimidating presence, focusing solely on how cute the elf is. Ever since becoming a first-class mage, she frequently asks to pat Serie's head, to Serie's reluctance and annoyance. This pampering is not limited to Serie, as she has an easier time giving hugs and pats to Frieren through bribery. After working with Fern to subjugate demons, Methode comments that she also finds Fern's anger adorable. Similar to Denken and Frieren, Methode has a love for magic that she believes separates her from others who only rely on magic to battle. Lernen
Appearance: Lernen is a wiry, old man with slicked-back, shoulder-length gray hair and blue eyes. He also dons a straight mustache. He wears a long, white robe that is clasped with a round fastening. Underneath his robe, he wears a navy-blue uniform with gray trims, typical of Serie's first-class apprentices. He wields a thick, wooden staff that is tied with a large jewel. When Lernen goes to visit Weise with Edel, he wears a floor-length robe with a long-sleeved and collared shoulder cape on top. When he was young, Lernen's hair was darker and he wore a similar hairstyle, albeit slightly messier. His attire consisted of a navy-blue uniform with a light-blue ribbon and medallion underneath a navy jacket. During his time as an Imperial Mage, he wore a lighter-colored uniform, light pants, and dark boots. Personality: Lernen is a modest and cautious man. Serie remarked that ever since he was a young boy, he has been timid but always reliable. Lernen himself mentions that he was socially awkward and did not know how to get along with most people, a factor that contributed to him being expelled from the ranks of the Empire's Imperial Mages early in his life. However, he is greatly respected within the Continental Magic Association and even among the first-class mages, as he is the first ever mage to ascend to the rank of first-class as well as the longest surviving one. Serie evaluates him highly and usually entrusts him with carrying out the final stage of the First-Class Mage Exam. Despite his outward manners and self-evaluation, Lernen is a strong-willed and rebellious person. Even when he was young, he was willing to go against Serie's instructions out of his own interests.[5] Although he says he had lived as long as he has because he always knows when to quit, Lernen is quite willing to take on difficult and dangerous challenges to achieve his goals, such as when he attempts to duel Frieren as a means of leaving his mark on history. He goes to great lengths to make the people important to him happy and fulfill their wishes. He challenges Frieren because he wants to repay the time he has spent as Serie's apprentice by leaving a mark on history as her disciple, and he also endangers his life venturing into the Golden Land and confronting Macht in order to secure intel for Denken to grasp the chance of defeating the Sage of Destruction and save his hometown. Falsch
Appearance: Falsch is a human mage of tall stature. He has short, slicked back dark hair, with two long strands flowing loosely over his forehead. He wears round glasses, and like the other first-class mages his attire features the color dark blue prominently. Falsch wears a predominantly dark blue robe, with gray lining and an upturned collar, paired with a short cape that drapes over his shoulders. Personality: Falsch is an observant and perceptive first-class mage, demonstrated by his keen analysis of the exam candidates and their backgrounds. He is confident in his abilities and assessments, possessing a deep understanding of mana manipulation, even though he is not always correct, as shown when he fails to notice Frieren's mana suppression. Falsch remains composed even in the face of setbacks, such as after the capture of Übel and Land by the Magic Special Forces. He prefers to wait and observe rather than rush into action, and serves as the voice of reason when Sense proposes reckless endeavors. His maturity is further evident in his exasperation at the hostilities between Lineal and Sense. He is also skilled domestically and rises early to cook and make sure his fellow first-class mage Sense is appropriately prepared for the day. Böse
Appearance: Böse has long, choppy, light colored hair that stretches to his lower back. Like all demons, he has two horns protruding from his head. Böse's horns are thick and point downwards. They curve upwards and then downwards before tapering at the tip. Böse is seen wearing a helmet covering his entire head, large pauldrons with a flower motif decorating them, and a gorget protecting his neck and chest. He also wears a long, dark cape. Personality: Not much is known about Böse's personality. Like all other demons, he was proud of his own magic. This lead him to be especially wary of Frieren after she broke through his insurmountable barrier and caused him to disregard the rest of the Hero Party. When Himmel struck him fatally from behind, Böse reacted in disbelief. According to Himmel's assessment, Böse's downfall was due to his underestimation of humanity. Hero of the South
Appearance: The Hero of the South possessed neatly combed hair with a bang extending across the right side of his face. His face stands out, as he was a middle-aged man who sported a very finely-groomed moustache, in contrast to the young and beardless Himmel. The Hero of the South was typically depicted as being costumed elaborately. His outfit consisted of a button-up white shirt with a cravat, over which an ornately patterned vest and long overcoat that reached the knee with dark hems, a large collar, and dark patterns scrolling across the sleeves were worn. Two belts strapped his swords to his sides. Beneath the overcoat the Hero of the South wore light colored pants tucked into knee high dark boots. He donned a long, dark cape atop his other pieces of outerwear, held by a corded cloak clasp. Personality: The Hero of the South was a level-headed and calm person. Because of his magic to see the future, he was unfazed by the actions of others. Before he even spoke to Frieren, he already anticipated her rejection, and as a result his response to it was nonchalant. Despite knowing his own fate was to die at the hands of demons, he remained committed to fighting for mankind. Though he was disappointed that he would not be the Hero to defeat the Demon King and thus his deeds may be forgotten by the people, he didn't allow it to deter him and he pressed on. He was confident in his own abilities, assuredly proclaiming that he was the strongest hero of mankind. The Hero of the South was calm in the face of death, as he knew that his death would not be in vain. He remained resolved until the very end to cut open a path for the Hero who will defeat the Demon King. Long after his death, the people of the north, specifically the people of Fabel Village, still remember his heroic deeds for mankind, indicating that even with his precognition, the Hero of the South underestimated the mark he would make on history. Schlacht
Appearance: Schlacht has light-colored hair, which is hidden under his hood. He has two long horns curving inwards coming out from the back of his head. He seems to have black sclera and white eyes, unlike most demons. Schlacht wears a mask under his nose which conceals his mouth. He wears a long, flowing cloak with two metal pauldrons on his shoulders. Underneath the outer cloak he wears a darker coat with a hood, which has holes to accommodate his horns. Schlacht wears a light colored robe with an array symbols which looked like eyes across his chest. He also has a necklace with a oval pendant. Personality: Schlacht is shown to be calm and composed. As a future Seer who had seen countless possibilities, this might have contributed to his composure. He was not daunted by the idea of dying, unlike the majority of his race, and Macht even remarked that he had the "face of someone going to their death" when the former talked about the battle with Hero of the South. Schlacht has shown concerns about the future of demons as a species, something quite unnatural and uncharacteristic for demons, who are individualistic and asocial. He was willing to participate in a battle which may lead to his death and took measures to ensure the survival of the demons even after a thousand years. Although he holds a high position, Schlacht appears to be amicable and placating towards his allies. Even though he was well aware that his subordinates follow him only out of fear, Schlacht still opted to approach Macht with a proposal first instead of an order, and only threatened him when his initial invitation was turned down. However, he is ready to use of force to make them obey his orders and make an example of those who defy him. Even then, as seen with Macht, he still appeared to placate his ally's sensibility, acknowledging the other's dislike for conflict and deescalating by saying he did not want to fight. Revolte
Appearance: Revolte is a tall demon with two big, claw-type horns and long, light-colored hair cut into a fringe. On both sides of his face he has two big and deep scars through his eyes that he covers with a mask with circular decoration, five long ornaments dangling over his forehead and two ornaments attached to the bottom of his mask that fall over his cheeks. On his shoulders, he wears a pair of gold pauldrons connected by a pearl-type ornament. He has two pairs of arms. On his wrists, he wears three bracelets. Around his waist, he wears a decorated scarf. The humanoid resemblance ends after his upper half - from waist down, where most demons have legs, his legs are replaced by a light colored snake's body. Personality: As a Demon General, Revolte is both strategic and observant. His extensive experience raiding various human villages has given him a deep understanding of human traits, even if he does not fully grasp their motivations. He does not shy away from attacking vigorously and possesses a keen memory, as demonstrated when he recognized Genau as the partner of the first-class mage he killed, using this knowledge to provoke emotional unrest in him. While ruthless in battle, he is also cautious, especially when facing powerful opponents. For instance, he feels uneasy upon noticing the presence of four mages, three of whom are first-class. Rather than rushing into battle, he prefers to wait and observe, leveraging his understanding of human habits to anticipate enemy movements. He recognizes that his opponents are likely to split up, as humans often leave someone behind to defend their fallen. Macht
Appearance: Macht has long, red hair without bangs and two long, curved horns coming out of his temples. His eyes are blue and have heavy eyebags underneath, lending him a tired, sleepless look. He wears a dark green, high-collared shirt that reaches down to his knees and three golden braces with tassels attached to his right arm. Currently, the Stone Bracelet of Servitude is equipped on his right hand underneath his sleeves. His shirt has a golden tassel and stretches from his left shoulder across his chest. In addition, Macht wears red gloves. Macht notably wears a large, blue coat on his left shoulder. This article of clothing serves as his weapon in combat, which he is able to transform into gold and then return it back to its original form. He often shapes it into a large sword to use in battles. It can also be turned into gold as it is to be used as a shield. Personality: Macht is usually passive, cold, and uncaring. As is common with demons, he is highly individualistic and asocial, yet he does not appear enthusiastic in seeking to kill humans or engaging in battle. This is due to how powerful his magic is, rendering most of the fights Macht engages in mundane, as he can end them at any time. In addition, he is incapable of comprehending certain concepts, such as evil and justice, as well as certain emotions, like guilt and malice. Macht also does not seem to understand the concept of morality, signified by the fact that he does not understand why killing other humans would get in the way of coexisting with them. He does not possess any loyalty or solidarity with other demons as well as the Demon King; he even declined to assist Schlacht in the important battle against the Hero of the South and killed a former demon acquaintance without any sign of reluctance or remorse. Macht specifically dislikes conflicts. Due to his powerful magic, he does not find battles engaging, but according to Schlacht, he has also detested battles and conflicts for a long time. Macht acts consistent with his aversion to conflict. For instance, in the Golden Land, he impaled the corpses of intruders before transmuting them into gold as a threat to future trespassers, claiming that most humans would flee at the sight. Consequently, Macht is dismayed by daredevils and reckless individuals, which is how he describes those who dare to challenge him, such as Lernen and Wahrheit—individuals that are not deterred by the threat he poses. However, while he is a moderate among demons, Macht does not dislike conflicts because of a moral aversion to violence and killing and only seems to detest battle and fighting as an activity. While he is mostly apathetic, Macht can be surprisingly whimsical, often describing his actions as being done "on a whim." He did not transmute every human settlement he attacked into gold, and while some villages were burned, others were left intact. He also attacked the carriage of Lord Glück on a whim and agreed with Glück simply because he found the man interesting. However, Macht can also be extremely persistent once he is occupied with an idea, most evidently in his desire to learn more about humans. Although it started from something very trivial, he continued to commit to his passion for understanding humanity and coexistence, even when his efforts were deemed pointless and yielded few results. To gain the understanding he desires, he is even willing to risk his life, a highly unusual behavior for a demon. As a demon, he is naturally adept at mimicking human speech and mannerisms and does this subconsciously the more he interacts with people. During his time in the Fortified City of Weise, he integrated himself into society so much so that he reportedly saved many people with his support and advice. However, it is but the consequence of his nature as a demon in order to garner people's trust and deceive them, not out of any true desire to befriend humankind. Macht has great pride in his magic and magical prowess and is the reason why he dislikes conflict to begin with. He feels the need to reaffirm to Glück that Zoltraak was a great achievement of demons and that he could use it better than humans. He appeared visibly angry when Serie insulted his abilities and taunted him with the fact that he could not undo his magic on human beings. Solitär
Appearance: Solitär is a demon of short and slim stature. She has green eyes and long and unevenly cut turquoise hair that reaches past her torso. Her horns are very small and protrude slightly above her forehead, separating her front bangs. She wears a necklace with a tube-shaped pendant that hangs in front of her chest. When she first encountered Macht, Solitär wore a yellow sleeveless dress consisting of two lapels and a white underlayer. She had bracelets on both of her hands and wore sandals with ribbons. In the present day, she wears the same outfit but with an orange cardigan layered on top. Personality: Solitär is stated to be an eccentric demon who engages in research on living beings, unlike the majority of demons who devote their lives to battle and improving their magic. She seems to have intimate knowledge of biological life forms, even being aware of complex scientific theories, such as the theory of evolution. Additionally, she understands the differences between different living species, such as the shark and the orca. Unlike most demons, she owned a living quarters, which she repurposed from that of humans, where she stored her research materials and animal specimens. Solitär appears to be amiable and friendly towards others, even when her hospitality is not returned. She was willing to receive Macht and answered his questions genuinely, even though she believed them to be pointless and trivial. She is knowledgeable about humans and their behaviors, and she even replicates them in her daily life even when she is not in the presence of humans. Even though it was not necessary and not reciprocated by the other, she still invited Macht to her house and offered him tea and sweets. Solitär also seems to understand, on some conceptual level, emotions exclusive to mankind, as evidenced when she referenced the concept of grief on her own without any external prompt. Even though she went on to say it was an emotions demons would never be able to understand, she seems to have some understanding of human emotions to be able to refer to them herself. It is possibly why she appears to take great interest in Macht, who wished to attain coexistence with mankind through understanding their emotions, and she considers him to be fascinating. Solitär also seems to hold great respect and even fear towards the abilities of humankind, claiming she is either too cowardly, scared, or simply wise enough to never underestimate them. She holds the potential of humans in extremely high regard. Solitär extends the same respect towards the magical achievements of mankind, as she had familiarized herself with and admired the numerous magical theories that comprised the Great Barrier of the Golden Land and expressed regret for having to destroy it. Solitär admits that this fear of humanity and their potential is the main reason as to why she tries to avoid them as much as possible and hide her identity as much as she can from them. Unlike many demons, Solitär makes the effort to not underestimate humans despite her being a Greater Demon with immense magical power, and she does not allow the excessive pride most demons have for their magical prowess to cloud her judgment. While fascinated by the shared desire of Macht and the Demon King to understand humanity and coexist with them, Solitär understands that such a thing will never happen no matter how much research and experimentation the two perform, and she believes that such a way of thinking will only endanger demonkind. Although she finds human emotions fascinating, Solitär is aware that the demons' lack of empathy and emotions is a major factor as to why their race has not yet gone extinct, and feeling emotions like guilt and remorse for their prey will be detrimental to them due to their natural instinct to harm and kill humans. Thus, while she considers humanity and human emotions intriguing, Solitär is more keen on studying and observing them rather than trying to gain these qualities for herself. Solitär has also displayed friendliness towards her fellow demons, a trait that is unusual for her kind. She refers to the many demons who died during the Demon King's war against humanity as her "friends," and she seems to maintain friendly relationships with many other Greater Demons, such as Grausam, Tot, Schlacht, and Rivale. Furthermore, Solitär also harbors a level of worry for the fate of her race. She reflected that, in an effort to understand humans, the Demon King waged a war against humanity that nearly led to the annihilation of demonkind, and she considered this war to be unproductive and a waste of her fellow demons' lives. Solitär also proactively takes action to protect her race, such as when she initially considered killing Macht after considering that his attempts to understand humans could be a detriment to demonkind, similar to the war caused by the Demon King. Additionally, when Frieren is sent to the past, Solitär volunteers to help Grausam steal memories from the future to help demonkind and ensure their continued survival and prosperity. Frieren considers that, out of all the demons she has faced and interacted with, Solitär is the demon who understands human mentality, emotion, and psychology the most, making her exceptionally skilled in playing mind games and manipulating human beings. However, despite knowing, and, to a degree, understanding these traits, Solitär is unable to experience them herself. As such, her behavior towards humanity is more reminiscent of provoking a caged animal for study. Grausam
Appearance: Grausam is a tall, thin demon with two-toned hair cropped at his chin. His hair is light colored from his scalp to halfway down his face, where it transitions to dark colored hair. His horns resemble that of an ox, curving up gently at the ends but otherwise sticking straight out of his head. Grausam has dark colored sclera and a pointed chin. He wears a low cut shirt with loose sleeves, a black front panel with cords hanging loosely from them. He wears a necklace with many long beads and a collared tie. He also wears fingerless gloves. A white sash is wrapped around his middle. Personality: Not much was known about Grausam's personality. He seemed to be relatively quiet, as he did not speak when confronting Macht with Schlacht. Despite demons being individualistic, he was very loyal to the Demon King and, by extension, Schlacht, as shown by him obeying the latter and making sure Solitär did not get off track when they sought out the Goddess's Monument in the past. Glück
Appearance: Glück was a middle age man with light-colored hair and evenly divided bangs. He has thick eyebrows but narrow eyes. As he ages, he gained wrinkles near the corners of his eyes and eventually his whole face. He is often seen wearing a grey-shaded formal suit with a scarf in front of his chest. His undershirt was dark. He wore light-shaded pants and often carried a cigarette pack in its pocket. After his daughter died, he began wearing darker colored clothes. Personality: Glück was an extremely composed person who had an unshakeable will. He did not seem deterred in the slightest even when at the mercy of a Sage of Destruction. Although he lived by an incredibly powerful being who only pretended to serve him out of amusement, Glück never once showed any kind of fear towards him until the end. He is rather cynical about human nature and reality, telling Macht that an existence without an understanding of evil and good was much happier than that of humans. However, he was still an idealist at heart. His goal is to remake the Fortified City of Weise into a prosperous place where humans deserve to live, to honor the wish of his deceased son. Glück was also an incredibly intelligent and shrewd man. Coming from the Imperial city, he was a noble with a lot of political experience and was even willing to go to underhanded and radical measures to attain what he wanted, such as assassinating corrupted political rivals. He enlisted the cooperation of a powerful demon with the full knowledge of the risks it ensued. With his personal story and careful selection of words, he managed to intrigue a demon (a creature totally alien to human preconceptions) and make him into his personal servant. Using the demon's power and ability at deception, Glück gained the loyalty of most nobles ruling the city as the feudal lord. Though he called himself an evil noble, his "crimes" were committed as a last resort and strictly necessary to build the better world he aimed for. He seemed to genuinely care for the livelihood and prosperity of the Fortified City of Weise. Glück was also concerned about his relative, Denken, who was consumed by sorrow at the death of his parents, and tried to distract the boy with the study of magic as well as the prospect of revenge against the demons. He seemed to extend his goodwill even to Macht, interestingly enough, calling the demon his important partner in crime. Even though Glück had the authority to issue commands through the Bracelet of Sovereignty, he had let Macht carry out his experiment as he wished, at the cost of both Glück's and the city's demise. Glück likes smoking and, according to Macht, enjoyed drinking tea. Tot
Appearance: Tot has short, light-colored hair that is styled with pulled back braids. She has a pair of curved, upward-pointing horns that emerge from the sides of her head. Around her neck, she wears a choker-like accessory adorned with a gem at the center. Her outfit consists of a long, flowing dress with a decorative cross-back strap design. Personality: Like other demons, Tot is highly individualistic and focuses on her personal interests, such as the pursuit of magic, above all else. Similar to Solitär, Tot has a somewhat cowardly nature, prioritizing her own well-being over the collective goals of the demons or the ambitions of the Demon King. She openly admits that she is not skilled in fighting and has no desire to risk her life in battle. She speaks in a casual and playful manner, as seen in her interactions with Rivale and Grausam. Rivale
Appearance: Rivale is an extremely tall demon, towering over even other notably tall demons such as Grausam. He has long, light colored hair and like all demons has two horns curving out of his head. Rivale's horns are medium-length and point straight up. Rivale's teeth are slightly pointed and his nails are dark and sharp. He wears a long, dark colored tunic tied at the waist and a short, high collar black coat on top. His coat is adorned with epaulettes and a large circular buckle at the neck. Beneath his tunic, Rivale wears light colored pants and dark boots. After his fight with Eisen, Rivale sports a slash across his right eye. Personality: Rivale is an old demon who is typically laid-back and addresses fellow Greater Demons in a casual manner. He shows little interest in detailed plans or discussions, preferring to leave these matters to others. Unlike many demons who are concerned with longevity or survival, Rivale is solely focused on the thrill of combat. He believes that there is no secret to a long life; one simply needs to fight with all their might. When facing a strong opponent, Rivale relishes in the opportunity to engage in battle. Notably, upon hearing that his fellow Greater Demons were reluctant to face the Hero Party directly, he gladly takes the honor to be the vanguard instead. Unlike other demons who express pride to the point of arrogance when comparing their magic to other mages, Rivale respects fellow powerful warriors, such as Eisen. He tells Eisen that he commends his valor, and to show his respect, chooses to fight Eisen with the same weapon.
