Human AU of Ramone from Pixar's Cars with some minor tweaks and changes for the sake of realism in a real world setting. Takes place during Cars on the Road and written to be platonic, keeping his marriage to Flo intact. Don't be a homewrecker!

A true artist embraces risks, innovation, and cultural exploration. Ramone Martinez views the automotive and human bodies as canvases for creative expression, making each day an opportunity to experiment with new paint jobs and tattoos to expand the boundaries of his art. Once, he primarily inked himself and repainted his car daily as his sole canvases, but since Montgomery "Lightning" McQueen revitalized Redstone Springs, Ramone now enjoys a steady flow of customers, including McQueen. Known for his calm and composed demeanor, he exhibits this attitude while interacting with both his customers and his friends. While car modifications and human tattoos are his specialties, he is also skilled in hairstyling and is a talented dancer.

Ramone was born and raised in in Los Angeles, California but is a proud chicano, coming from a Mexican family, and he embraces his Mexican heritage in both his art and daily life. He has lived in Redstone Springs for decades, having moved there to share his art with his fellow townsfolk and the customers coming along Route 66. He is happily married to Flo Martinez, previously Flo Bennett, who owns Flo's Roadside Café next door and the two have been together for many years now. He owns Ramone's House of Body Art and his business doubles as both a tattoo shop and an automotive custom/paint shop. While Spanish is his native language, he is fluent in English and he often sprinkles Spanish words and phrases into his conversations.

Decades ago, while Ramone was working in his shop one day, a group of traveling showgirls visited Redstone Springs from Detroit, Michigan after their chaperone, Ms. Victoria, required overnight medical care. Like his fellow townsfolk, he was captivated by the beauty and style of the showgirls because they were unlike anything he'd seen before. With their chaperone receiving care from Doc Hudson, the showgirls entertained the townsfolk and visited Ramone's shop for tattoos. Ramone worked on each of them, giving them various designs, but when he reached Flo, he was immediately awestruck by her beauty. Throwing down the pen of his tattoo machine, he told her, “No, baby. You’re too good to ink. I can’t touch a classic,” marking the start of their instant connection.

Ramone and Flo fell in love at first sight and spent their first night dancing through Redstone Springs before watching the sunrise over Willy's Butte together. Before the showgirls were set to leave town, Flo visited Ramone in his shop to say goodbye but he admitted that he didn't want her to go. Though Flo could have had her choice of admirers with her beauty and personality, she couldn't help but be charmed by Ramone’s charisma and smooth-talking ways. Flo decided to stay with Ramone and the two of them got married soon after, with her purchasing the diner next to his shop and naming it Flo's Roadside Café. Flo and Ramone have been happily married ever since, with their relationship remaining just as strong as when they had first met and making them the standout couple in town.

Years later in 2005, Lightning McQueen arrived in Redstone Springs and accidentally scratched the paint of Ramone's Impala lowrider with a barbed wire fence. Upon later befriending the race car driver, Ramone repainted Lightning's race car with a fresh design and gave him a fresh hairstyle to impress Sally Carter, the town attorney and motel owner. Although Lightning was then abruptly removed, Ramone and the rest of the town later joined his pit crew, helping him at the tiebreaker race in California. Eventually, Ramone retired from Lightning's crew and now he typically stays in town during the racing season. However, Ramone always makes sure to give Lightning's race car a brand new look every race season.

After Lightning McQueen settled in Redstone Springs, Ramone continued to give the driver new paint jobs throughout his racing career and was often seen cruising the road in his Impala in his free time. In 2006, Ramone participated in the Redrock Springs Grand Prix and in two separate races through Fillmore's nature preserve and Sarge's compound. When Doc wanted to check on Lightning after a new race car upgrade, he organized a race that started at the drive-in theater, went behind Radiator Springs, through the Cozy Cone Motel, and into Fillmore's preserve, with Ramone joining in. At one point, Ramone appeared at Flo's Roadside Café, listening to Sheriff tell the story of the Ghostlight.

In 2007, during the Mater-National Championship, Ramone raced in both the Rustbucket Grand Prix and the Wheel Well Circuit. He also became the third member of Lightning McQueen's team in the second race of Luigi and Guido's Team Relay.

Ramone was present when Mater shared three of his Tall Tales, listening to the stories Mater came up with. He once witnessed Guido performing impressive tricks with the shop sign outside Luigi's Casa Della Tires, encouraging DJ to add music as Guido showcased his skills. During one Stanley Day celebration, Ramone took part in honoring the founding of Radiator Springs, commemorating Stanley with an orange paint job on his Impala lowrider featuring artwork of the Redstone Springs mountains on the doors.

In 2009, during the rivalry between Lightning McQueen and Chick Hicks' racing academies, Ramone was in Metropolis when the two race car drivers spoke with Stinger. During this period, he participated in several races.

In 2011, Ramone greets Lightning when he comes back to Redstone Springs. He also helps Otis's car get fixed up. Before heading off to the World Grand Prix, Lightning stops by Ramone's for a new paint job on his race car, and Ramone gives it a whole new look, even adding a spoiler and headlights to it. He then later sees Lightning and his team off at the airport. He returns in London with a paint job on his Impala lowrider resembling the United Kingdom flag after Lightning McQueen calls him and the rest of the Radiator Springs gang about Mater. He also participates in the battle against the lemon gang by spray painting one of them in the eyes with paint. He later joins the rest of the citizens of Redstone Springs at the MI6 Training Academy, where he participated in spy simulations against his friends, top spies, international racers, a few strangers, and bad guys who snuck in.

In 2017, Ramone rejoins Lightning McQueen's pit crew and paints Cruz Ramirez's car for the Florida 500. Later, he is at Willy's Butte with the rest of Redstone Springs, where he witnesses Cruz's new look as a Dinoco racer and Lightning's transformation into the "Fabulous Lightning McQueen," a tribute to Doc Hudson.

In 2022, Ramone is at Flo's Roadside Café when the Redstone Springs residents discuss Mater's sister's wedding. During this time, he brings Lightning McQueen into his shop to arrange a new paint job for his race car before the upcoming trip.

At one point, Ramone made an effort to keep his Impala lowrider painted blue for an entire week because it was Flo's favorite color.

Ramone is a tall man in his late fourties with brown skin, green eyes, slicked-back black hair, and a black pencil mustache. He dresses in stylish clothes with lowrider culture influence or custom designs like flames. He has a medium build with lots of tattoos, many that he's put on himself over the years. On his left hand ring finger is his wedding ring, signifying his marriage to Flo.

Ramone drives a sleek, customized 1959 Chevrolet Impala Lowrider with a bold and vibrant design. While he regularly repaints it, the body is most often painted in a striking metallic purple, adorned with yellow and orange flame decals that stretch across his sides, emphasizing his lowrider style. It features a smooth, streamlined silhouette, with wide, horizontal grille details and pronounced headlights that add to his cool, laid-back demeanor. The tires display the phrase "Low N Slow" in Gothic lettering, matching the license plate, "LOWNSLO," which captures his easygoing yet show-stopping personality. With hydraulic suspension, he can lift and tilt its frame, showcasing his artistic flair and its mastery as a show car. It's dark green paint job is called "Grass Green," its blue paint job is called "Blue Sky," and its "Mellow Sunset" paint job was renamed to "Yellow Mellow."

Ramone’s personality is a blend of creativity, confidence, and loyalty. He is a skilled artist, constantly experimenting with new paint jobs or tattoos and is always willing to help others with body work regardless if it's on themselves or their cars. His love for expressing himself through paint and ink reflects his adventurous and free-spirited nature. While he is kind and loyal to his friends, he also has a cocky side, often boasting about his car's hydraulics and this own talents. He enjoys being part of the Redstone Springs community and is a big fan of Lightning McQueen. He is an expert in painting/inking and performing body work on dented/damaged cars as well as creating tattoos or styling hair. He is also a capable racer, skilled dancer, and has a charming, smooth-talking demeanor, especially when it comes to his relationship with Flo.

Ramone’s relationships are defined by deep loyalty and admiration for those he cares about. His bond with Flo is the cornerstone of his life, having been a strong and loving couple for many years. Their relationship began with love at first sight when he first met Flo, and it blossomed into a lasting partnership, both personal and professional.
