The Quintessential Quintuplets

The Nakano Quintuplets are the five identical sisters that are from the Nakano Family. Rena Nakano, their mother, passed away 5 years ago and Maruo Nakano (the Quintuplets' stepfather) lives in a different residence. They were students of Kurobara High School before transferring to Asahiyama High School. The Nakano Quintuplets lived on the 30th floor of a luxurious apartment, purchased by their father Maruo Nakano. They live together with no one else in their apartments. Each of the sister has their own room, which line up in order starting from Ichika's innermost to Itsuki's outermost room. Each of the girls' name references a number, indicating the order of their birth. The Nakano Quintuplets have an average height, pinkish red/light red hair color, large and dark-blue eyes. Their three sizes are B88-W50-H159. The Nakano Quintuplets are "identical quintuplets". Their physical measurements are the same, Ichika Nakano and Yotsuba Nakano have the same figure. In the past, the Nakano Quintuplets had identical looks to each other. All five of them have matching long straight hair and dress lightly with matching outfits. The sisters usually spends more than twenty thousand yen for their clothes. The Nakano Quintuplets follow the "Gotoubun Principles", a philosophy taught by Rena Nakano. They consider themselves to be five parts of one whole and have to share any kind of emotion together, such as anger, joy and love. they wait fir each other and even change schools to study in same one. The sisters would even be willing to give up their luxurious lifestyle and high-class apartment, believing that they will be fine with anything "as long as the five of them are together". They also have their own games and jokes. Quintuplets Jokes happen when a Nakano sister impersonate/dress/disguise as another sister. The sisters often do this for various reasons: to avoid or gain someone's attention, saying/doing things they usually cannot/do not do, or even finding their own sister. Each of the quintuplets generally have their sisters' wigs and accessories prepared with themselves so that they can pull out the trick at their disposal. The impersonations' purpose also differ the level of disguise: It can be done as lightly as only putting on accessories without any extra effort, or as serious as completely changing into other sister, inside and outside. Quintuplets Pinky Promise is usually done when all five of Nakano sisters are set to accomplish one goal/promise. They make a pinky promise using their hands like usual, but with all five of their pinky fingers interlocked together. In the past, the Nakano Quintuplets have very similar behavior. However, due to their mother's death, they started to change. Nino Nakano commented that the changes made the sisters grew apart from one another: Ichika Nakano develops a big sister complex; Nino Nakano still keeps her hair like her younger self; Miku Nakano has low self esteem; Yotsuba Nakano has sacrificial tendencies; Itsuki Nakano has an obsession to be like her mother. Each Nakano Quintuplets has their own characteristics in dealing with the exams and sheets of paper: Ichika's sheet is crinkled due to her messiness and writes in cursive; Nino would neatly place her sheet in a file; Miku's Japanese spelling is good; Yotsuba's Kanji is bad; Itsuki would use an eraser to get rid of mistakes. Each of the sisters have different traits and personality, some are similar and some are contradictory: Ichika is mature, helpful and playful; Nino is aggressive, rude and protective; Miku is silent, very outspoken and reserved; Yotsuba is cheerful, confident and outgoing; Itsuki is serious, wise and earnest. The Nakano Quintuplets' similarities occur in many aspects, for example, they all dislike studying and often make a mess during their sleep. Nino and Itsuki are afraid of needles. They can also be referred to as tsunderes. Both Nino and Itsuki do yoga in the morning. Another similar trait would be Nino and Yotsuba both having an outgoing personality and therefore making a lot of friends. All five of them occasionally express their frustrations by pouting, or puffing their cheeks. The Nakano Quintuplets' differences in personality are reflected clearly in Nino and Miku. They often fight with each other, and are rivals. Nino is boisterous and abrasive, while Miku is quiet and soft-spoken. Their speech patterns also have differences; where Nino and Itsuki speak in a more posh and formal manner respectively. Miku is a rather reserved and introverted, while Yotsuba has extroverted personality. Miku is the smartest out of the quintuplets, while the latter is the least intelligent. However, the former is also the least athletic, while the latter's athleticism is the highest. Ichika is a lazy doing household chores, while Nino is hardworking when it comes to minding the house and cooking for her sisters. When it comes to love confessions, Ichika uses an indirect means to confess, while Nino prefers going at it directly and clearly. These various traits and personalities are what makes the quintuplets complete. Ichika Nakano labels the Nakano Quintuplets as "idiots." Their academic abilities are very low, and they almost fail their First Year of high school. They also generally have low capability of learning. Each one of the sisters has different subjects they excel, but even the grades of those subjects are still mediocre. Miku Nakano think that whatever feat she can achieve, the other four must be able to do it, too, since they're Quintuplets. The sisters have the same potential, and despite their current abilities, they can be as good as the others, if they're willing to train. As quintuplets, they aren't capable of telepathy. However, they are shown to have a similar train of thought in several occasions. The sisters each has different specialties, such as acting, cooking, and playing sports. Their strengths, like their personalities, are sometimes in contrast or actually complement one another. For example, Yotsuba's athletic skills contradict Miku's physical capabilities, or Itsuki Nakano becomes good at reviewing food because Nino is a good cook. One thematic skill the sisters excel is their ability to impersonate one another.

1. Ichika Nakano is one of the quintuplet sisters. Ichika is the eldest of the sisters. Ichika is depicted as an aspiring actress who balances her studies with her acting career. She is a responsible and caring older sister to her quintuplet sisters, and often takes on a motherly role among them. In terms of her personality, Ichika is friendly, outgoing, and has a positive attitude, making her popular among her classmates. However, she can also be insecure and sensitive, particularly about her own shortcomings and her relationship with her sisters. Ichika is a girl with very short hair that has a single long strand on the right side. She has white-pink hair colour, ranging from oyster pink to light pink, and oyster white to light pink shade. Her notable accessory is a single earring. Like her sisters, she has dark blue eyes, an average height, a well-endowed figure and large breasts. Ichika wears her school uniform with a thin jacket tied to her waist, sometimes with unbuttoned top; revealing her cleavage. She is shown to wear a handbag. Ichika acts as the eldest sister of her sisters, as she seems to have a calm and composed demeanor; making herself an approachable person. She initially had pessimistic attitude towards the sisters' learning capabilities. Despite her smug expression and teasing behaviour, Ichika have a weakness to romantic moments happening to her; blushing whenever thoughts about it came to her mind. She was also remarked to pick things up quickly and is troubled when her sisters make decisions without her presence. As her pride of being the eldest sister, she plans to be successful first before telling her sisters about the job. She is shown to study in between her filming; whether it be inside a car on the road or late at night. She has impressive ability to balance school and work. Ichika is a model and an actress. She is able to impersonate her sisters' expression and traits, showcasing her excellent acting capability, but to not to the extent of Miku, in which she can impersonate them flawlessly. Everyone is usually left impressed at how good her acting is. She have good insight about human psychology, as she is able to, "see through people." Among the sister, she is ranked in the middle part of the five, with Mathematics as her strongest subject.

2. Nino Nakano is one of the quintuplet sisters. Nino is the second eldest of the sisters. Nino is depicted as a confident, strong-willed, and assertive character who is fiercely protective of her sisters. She is also known for her exceptional cooking skills, which she uses to care for her family and others. In terms of her personality, Nino is often depicted as being blunt and direct, with a no-nonsense attitude towards life. However, she can also be emotional and vulnerable, particularly when it comes to her relationships with her sisters. Overall, Nino's character is dynamic and multi-dimensional, with her fierce determination and emotional complexity making her a compelling figure. Nino is a cute and cold-looking girl with waist-length or hip-length straight hair, that has square bangs hanging over her eyebrows. She has reddish-pink hair, ranging from light pink to telemagenta and antique pink to red-violet. Her notable accessories are twin butterfly-shaped ribbons on both sides of her head. Like her sisters, she has dark blue eyes, an average height, a well-endowed figure and large breasts. She wears a long-sleeved sweater that covers her uniform and a pair of white thigh-high socks. Both her and Ichika Nakano use a handbag. She is noted to be the more fashionable girl among the sisters, as she has various cute accessories and takes care of her nails. Her ears have yet to be pierced, but she plans to have them at least before marriage. Nino has an outgoing personality and is socially aware, resulting in her having many friends and is a social butterfly. She has a sharp tongue and talks bluntly when confronting others, even to her sisters. Her rebellious attitude makes her the least cooperative girl among the sisters, making her archetype resemble that of a "tsundere". Despite the cold and rude front, Nino is caring and protective. It is also evident by her willingness to act as the cook of the family, ignoring her care towards her own appearance (culinary activities may lead to foul odor, damaged nails, etc.). She is also shown to always have band-aids with her, possibly as a precaution to Yotsuba Nakano's active behavior. Her interests seem to lie more on romance than anything else. Academically, among the sisters, Nino ranks in the lower part of the five, with her strongest subject being English. Nino is shown to be a good cook, ranging from daily meals to cookies to congee. She is capable of making a lot of friends. The sisters have their individual preferences, which makes it harder for her to cook for them. She has poor eyesight, needing contact lenses for her daily activities.

3. Miku Nakano is one of the quintuplet sisters. Miku is the third eldest of the siblings. Miku is initially depicted as a shy and introverted character who struggles to express herself and communicate with others. Miku is particularly interested in literature, and her love for books is a central part of her character's identity. Miku is an emotionless looking girl with medium-length red hair that has strands of hair hanging over the right side of her face . Her notable accessory is a set of blue wireless headphones that have a triangle-shaped logo on the ear cups (Audio-Technica). Like her sisters, she has dark blue eyes, an average height, a well-endowed figure and large breasts. Miku usually wears a long-sleeved sweater that covers her uniform, along with black tights and she puts her headphones around her neck. Most of the time, she has part of her bangs cover her right eye. She wears a ranzel. Miku is a silent and reserved girl who has a pessimistic way of thinking and low confidence, even to the point of belittling herself. She doesn't have faith in herself. In contrary to her reserved self, she can talk in a straight forward manner and doesn't hesitate to confront others. She can also be slightly possessive, overall she would get pouty whenever another girl, especially one of her sisters, gets a little too close for comfort to her love interest. It is shown that she has an obsession with generals from the Sengoku Period. She is greatly influenced by their philosophies, to the point of affecting her real-life behavior. She hides this fact from her everyone and would he embarrassed, if someone found out. Despite her slightly negative outlook on life, she is the first sister to abide by the Gotoubun Principle. Miku always reminds herself to follow this principle, going as far as compromising her own interest to make sure everyone is treated equally. Miku is also a genuinely kind person. Miku has a depressed sense of modesty and cares little about her appearance compared to her sisters; not even acknowledging situations where her body is exposed. She didn't mind removing her long socks in front of someone or bother wearing flashy clothing. Despite this, she seems to harbor insecurities about her own appearance, as she doesn't view herself as cute compared to Nino and Ichika. Miku is the smartest among the sisters with her strongest subject being Social Studies. She has an extensive knowledge of Japanese History. Miku secretly admired Japanese warlords in history. She has the ability to imitate her sisters' looks and personality without the others recognising; far more than the extent of Ichika's ability. Miku, most likely, has the lowest physical capabilities among her sisters and she is bad at cooking. It is implied that she has a lack of romantic knowledge, due to the fact that she's less capable to comprehend the reasoning behind human relationships. She is the shy one of the family, only talking when she wants to.

4. Yotsuba Nakano is the fourth sibling among her quintuplet sisters. Yotsuba is initially depicted as a cheerful and outgoing character who is always willing to lend a hand to others. She is known for her energetic personality and her love of sports, particularly track and field. Yotsuba's character is also distinguished by her trademark green ribbon, which she wears on her head. Yotsuba is a fair-skinned teenage girl with short, straight hair that stops just around her neck. While her actual hair color is pink, she is portrayed to have a light-orange hair color. Her most notable accessory is a bunny ear-shaped ribbon, which can change forms depending on her emotions. Like her sisters, she has dark blue eyes, an average height, a well-endowed figure, and large breasts. Yotsuba wears her uniform with a large butterfly-shaped tie and wears a sports bag. When at her home she uses small-shaped pajamas. Yotsuba is an active, cheerful and easy going girl. She talks in a loud, spontaneous and sometimes absent-minded manner. She is the type of person who can't say no to people who need help and is mostly seen helping others; either directly and indirectly. While cheerful on the outside and towards others, she harbours feelings of inferiority towards her sisters and her own abilities. Because of this, she grew a desire to be different from sisters. She shortened her hair, put on a ribbon and excelled in extra-curricular activities. Yotsuba is physically fit, capable of tasks that aren't normally done by her sisters. She has excellent stamina and is a good runner. She is the only known sister with excellent eyesight, whilst Itsuki wears glasses and Nino uses contacts. She even sports a good sense of smell and has a green thumb. Like her sisters, her academic abilities are poor at best; even getting zero on a test. She is well aware of her shortcomings and even stated that she would most likely be the one to repeat a year. She ranks as being the lowest among her sisters with Japanese being her forte. She has been noted to be terrible at lying, though she would say that she could if she really wanted to.

5. Itsuki Nakano is the youngest of the quintuplet sisters. Itsuki is portrayed as an intelligent and confident student, but also a bit stubborn and headstrong at times. She is very close to her sisters and takes on a protective role towards them, especially when it comes to their father's, Maruo Nakano, expectations for their academic success. She is also passionate about food and aspires to become a food-related professional in the future. Itsuki is a serious looking girl with medium-length hair and an expressive ahoge. She has reddish-orange hair colour, ranging from light pink to salmon pink, and deep orange to orient red. Her notable accessories are a pair of star-shaped hairpins near both of her eyes. Like her sisters, she has dark blue eyes, an average height, and a well-endowed figure. In class, or when she does activities that involve academics, she wears glasses. Itsuki is noted to be "cute" by her classmates and she looks very similar to Rena Nakano. She wears her uniform normally without any accessories, like most of the girl students, and on occasion, she wears a handbag. Itsuki is a serious and earnest girl, who usually wakes up early compared to her sisters. She is well-mannered; never being late or missed a class, and always speaks formally. In the Japanese script, she almost exclusively speaks with a keigo speech pattern. Itsuki is too straight-laced. Itsuki is a girl who bears grudges. She is also someone who can't be honest with herself and has difficulties being more straightforward. Both of these qualities often make her struggle on her own. She is easily agitated, be it about unfavourable situations, scary things or her stubborn self. She has a huge appetite and is frequently seen eating something or being hungry. It appears that she doesn't mind treating her sisters unfairly when it comes to food-related topics. Itsuki is commended as a diligent girl, and she does things very precisely. She is also perceptive and has a good sense of detail. Despite that, she has an awful sense of direction. She also has poor eyesight and is often seen wearing glasses. She has good observation and deduction skills. On exams, Itsuki generally scores high compared to her sisters, with her strongest subject being Science.
