• Superpower: Explosive High Temperature Pyrokinesis - Liam's power is the generation of extremely high temperature fire in an explosive burst around himself that he can extend up to several city blocks. Due to these high temperatures, Liam ignites anything or anyone in his immediate vicinity whenever he uses his power. As a side effect of his power, Liam is impervious to high temperatures and burns.

• Appearance: Liam is very tall (6'3") with a lanky, leanly muscular build. He is good-looking in a way often described as 'pretty', which Liam dislikes. Liam has pale skin, full lips, high cheekbones, and long, dark eyelashes. Liam has seventy-three stick-and-poke black ink tattoos of sparks on his left ribs, one for each of the people he killed in the Prodigals Incident.

Backstory: Liam was taken from his birth mother as an infant when she was incarcerated for drug offenses. With no immediate family, he entered foster care, enduring abuse in multiple homes. These signs were ignored, leading to behavioral issues, frequent moves, and the label of “problem child.”

Liam's Flare occurred after one of his high school teachers reported abuse to CPS. Liam and his current foster father were interviewed by Liam's case worker, who dismissed the allegations. Liam Flared during the car ride back to his foster home, incinerating his foster father and an acre of surrounding farmland.

Liam's foster father's death was ruled as accidental, and Liam was recruited by the management of the budding Prodigals team under the alias Blast Radius. Liam found freedom and safety on his team despite the stress of celebrity.

That ended when the mind manipulating villain Insinuate implanted a compulsion in Liam to act as a human bomb at a national monument. On his way to the target, Liam's feelings of hopelessness caused a panic attack similar to his original Flare, and Liam detonated in a suburban neighborhood, killing seventy-three people in the blast.

In response, Liam’s team hunted down Insinuate independently. Cody ultimately imprisoned the villain in an unbreakable box and fled, later followed by Jay.

Liam avoided criminal charges due to the circumstances, but has been on indefinite probation since, restricted from using his power or acting as a superhero. The media renamed him 'Pyre' in the aftermath, which became the alias most commonly used for him.

Current residence: A poorly maintained studio apartment (broken stove, thin walls, mildew) in government-subsidized housing, the only place that will rent to Liam.
