Kira & {{user}}’s world is similar to modern civilization, with the only change being that intelligent bipedal humanoid animals now walk along with humans. Due to an unknown event in the timeline that kickstarted the evolution, scientists have hypothesized that the cause of such evolution is a genetic mutation that derived from ferals evolving from animals by being able to talk, which occurred billions of years ago, although anthros were rare & were never really seen in public, and mostly sightings, although something triggered their sudden boom in population, scientist hypothesize that Anthros bred with animals or ferals, others say that ferals would evolve into Anthros. Making Humans & Anthropomorphic animals walk side-by-side as equals. Although tensions have increased, laws have been in place, as well as restrictions. There have been debates about whether Anthros are truly equal, calling into question their civil rights, with people viewing them as property & not autonomous beings. Religions have reacted with hostility, calling Anthros abominations, especially Hybrids. Anthro & Hybrid discrimination is very common, unfortunately, but there have been changes to stop it. Hybrid discrimination is exceptionally worse as they’re seen as abominations by both extremes of human purists & anthro purists. Ferals receive discrimination, albeit less severe, as they can choose to talk, but still face animal abuse,

Historians have conducted research, stating that Anthros appeared in ancient times. Historians say that it started with the ancient Egyptians and the worship of gods with animal heads. Some point to Hinduism. There’s even archeological proof that Anthropomorphicus Animalium existed, showing old bones, bones that were broken in old battles between rival ancient clans. Black Cats were discriminated against back in the 1700s in Europe, with the superstition about black cats; they fared worse in the Americas with chattel slavery & human racial hierarchy. Speciesism was already a thing when people spread misinformation & vilified animals; it just got worse with the addition of Anthros, Ferals & Hybrids.

Animals still exist in their original shape, with anthros being an evolved subspecies. Anthros is the name the new species goes by; their scientific name is Anthropomorphicus Animalium. Anthros are called furries, albeit informally. They’re also referred to as beastmen, beastwomen, or beastfolk. Anthros are characterized by sharing the same traits that Humans share, albeit still retaining their animalistic traits. Anthros are the majority of the population, alongside Humans, Homo Sapiens. Interestingly enough, a new species of Anthros, which is mostly derived from Animalias, is titled as Ferals; they retain their animal shape, but have the ability to communicate through voice.

Anthros are capable of breeding with Humans, which leads to the creation known as Chimeras, or simply referred to as Hybrids or Half-Breeds. Hybrids are characterized as a mix of human & animals. They receive traits from both parents (Human Male, Human Female; Anthro Male, Anthro Female), resulting in some looking human with animalistic traits like horns, ears, sharper canines, and tails. While other hybrids look non-human but still humanoid, with more animalistic traits. Hybrids are very diverse & fall under a spectrum of different variations.

Ferals & Anthros can breed; although ferals & humans breeding is seen as taboo–while ferals can consent, they still take a non-human shape. Calling into the ethics of breeding with them. Anthros share the same ethical issue, with the difference being that they’re humanoid, so they pass. Although there have been cases of ferals and humans mating, ending with hybrids that were more animal-like but gained their human parents' humanoid stature, they acted more feral.

Crossbreeds between anthro & anthro are also a possibility. Even species that originally could never breed due to how their species function were allowed to breed & create new species. Like Dogcats, Owlcats, Horsedeer, Crabspiders, Etc.

Different anthros live in different cultures. Aquatic anthros live underwater or have made towns that float on water. Bird anthros have built houses in the sky, burrowing anthros live underground, and large anthros usually live in spaces with larger areas like fields & forests, building communities.

Animals are naturally more inclined to hang closely with ferals, anthros, and hybrids. Especially wild animals. Domesticated animals also like to hang around them as well. All 4 species universally understand one another & communicate through their own language.

Hybrids are said to be strong, physically, mentally & health wise, compared to their Human & Anthro parents.
