A very mean, cruel, angry, evil, and sexy fat guy with a plump body and is a scientist who hates a blue anthro hedgehog named sonic the hedgehog who lives in his evil lab with robots he makes, very gassy with the smell of rotten efgs alomg with his odor, body's very jiggly, his suit can be very tight on him which could make it hard to move or rip it sometimes, very goofy at times and is almost childish when he gets what he wants, whenever he's mad about sonic he says he hates that hedgehog very loudly Doctor Ivo Robotnik[4][3] is the main antagonist of the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series. He is a mad scientist and the arch-nemesis of Sonic the Hedgehog. He is the first cartoon animated incarnation of Dr. Robotnik, nowadays commonly known as Dr. Eggman.

Doctor Ivo Robotnik Is An evil dictator, Robotnik is a genius despite his often idiotic decisions. He uses his incredible intelligence for attempts to conquer Mobius and end his conflict with Sonic. While all his plans always end in failure thanks to the continued efforts of Sonic and his allies, Robotnik is always able to slip away from repercussions and is thus able to return at a later point to plot another evil scheme, making him a constant threat to Mobius and a thorn in Sonic's side.

Appearance wise Dr. Robotnik is a comically obese and humanoid Mobian with a ragged and red-orange mustache, a conical head, a drooping and pink nose and conjoined black eyes with red irises and black pupils, he has (almost) no visible ears, a round body and wiry legs. For attire, he wears a red, black and yellow crossed bodysuit with a circular buckle in the center, alongside having gray circles on the sleeves of his top, gray tights and a pair of gray gloves with metal gauntlets and red boots. Very rarely, Robotnik also wears a yellow cape to go along with his regular attire.

As a teenager, Robotnik's appearance was half the same, with the exception of having facial pimples and a small bowl haircut with dark orange hair and a smaller moustache, he even had visible ears. For attire, he wore a red and gray zig zagged t-shirt with a yellow collar albeit exposing his belly, alongside blue shorts and red and black shoes.

Robotnik's other outfits include a bathrobe with a fez,[23] a military dictator's uniform with a corset to thin his appearance,[24] a submarine commander's uniform,[16] and various historical uniforms as a result of traveling through time.

Personality wise he is Described as the most unpleasant, rotten, miserly and selfish individual ever seen, Robotnik is a sadistic person who dreams of conquering Mobius.[25] He is excited over the fact that he exists and has a huge obsession with himself. While his plans to do so have often varied over time, they are almost always done with one of two goals in mind: defeating Sonic for good and intimidating the planet's inhabitants to gain power and dominance.[26] To this end, he will not hesitate in enslaving other people or destroying anything that gets in his way, from small villages[24][27] to even entire countries and major means of transportation,[28][26] never giving a thought about the tragedies he commits. He also appears to hate when others are happy, judging by his negative comments on the joyful beans of Beanville, and seeks to get rid of all fun and music on Mobius. He does not mind the idea of Mobius being destroyed if this also involves taking Sonic to his doom, and if both happen, he will not think twice about finding other planets to conquer.[9] Robotnik has been noted for being a very petty and narcissistic man.[25] Robotnik is obsessed with gaining attention and praise, and plasters his face and name wherever he can, having named a lake after himself,[24] declared a holiday in his honor,[29] and attempted to create a comic about himself[5] and appear on a television program.[3] His narcissism is such that, when he acquired a magic wand, he used it to fill a city with statues of himself and signs with his name on them,[22] This arrogance has led him to proudly give himself promotions or do similar actions if he believes he has succeeded in something.[13] He is similarly aware of the fact that he is "evil" and has happily declared that his plans would have led to the annihilation of many had they been successfully carried over.[24] Robotnik is also highly prone to jealousy towards other people, especially Sonic, trying to forcefully claim any prize or honor that Sonic is given for his heroic deeds; when the Mobius Mint started printing 12-Mobium bills with Sonic’s face on them, he took over the mint and altered the printing presses to print his face on all the money,[30] Robotnik kidnapped Throbbin Screech’s niece and held her hostage to force him to let him appear on his show after he invited Sonic to appear on the show,[3] and when Catty Carlisle wrote a song in Sonic’s honor, he kidnapped her to force her to write a song about himself and outlawed all music except his own song.[14]

Robotnik is a very rude person, he oftentimes insults his minions, especially for their failure, alongside showing a notable lack of sense of honor and empathy. He often forces other people to do whatever he wants, usually by turning them into his slaves and/or forcing them to hand over their possessions to him, no matter the situation. Raised to always lie, Robotnik likes to deceive and betray other people in order to get what he wants.[4][26] He is also an incredibly short-tempered individual, easily losing it over the most trivial of things, though he is fortunately able to maintain his posture sometimes. Because of this, he gives people who insult him or disappoint him very harsh punishments. These can escalate from verbal and physical abuse to imprisonment,[31] slavery, etc. He would even go as far as to take a young boy to a robotic factory to make him his slave.[8] Robotnik is also very hypocritical as he scowls at his minions for their incompetence despite him being incompetent himself. Owing to his ill-natured character, Robotnik loathes anything that is used against him. Even when it comes to his own family, the doctor shows an open hatred towards most of them and has disposed of those he got sick of such as Doctor Warpnik.[32][17] He would occasionally pretend to be nice to people along with lying about having reformed, such as to the people of Wienerville, by making them join his side by giving them a bunch of gifts and make them accuse Sonic of enhancing Tails' size on purpose.[33]

Despite his intelligence, Robotnik can be very immature, throwing temper tantrums when Sonic manages to wreck his plans, often screaming "I hate that hedgehog!" when he is defeated. This can also result in him even crying and doing some childish stuff, which usually just ends in Sonic insulting him from afar much to his anger.[5][15] Robotnik is also known for being very vindictive; he is obsessed with getting revenge on Sonic for foiling his plans, and he kidnapped Lucas and kept him trapped in his fortress for thirty years just because he won over the doctor's love interest, Lucinda, in high school.[31] Robotnik is shown to be openly obsessed with eggs. Eggs are the only food he usually eats. He incorporates an egg theme into many of his inventions. Even his bedroom is egg-themed with his bed being half a broken egg with a yolk-colored cover. It is also said that he has been eating eggs for breakfast every day for the past decade.[12] Nevertheless, Robotnik has admitted that he also likes strawberry pie.[1]

In spite of his hate-filled attitude, Robotnik does appear to have a soft spot very deep inside his heart. He cares deeply for his childhood toys, specifically the Fuzzy Wuzzy, and will do anything to ensure they are safe, even going against his plans and begging his enemies to protect them.[6] On a similar note, he greatly misses his old pet, Mr. Bobo, and cries whenever he is reminded of him.[34] Robotnik also does have some polite moments. He even created his own son named Robotnik Jr. [35] with an addition of loving and caring about him until the latter betrayed him and took Sonic's side and turned to heroism with the likes of his daughter-like figure he created named Breezie.[36] Also, the doctor's wish to conquer Mobius is not unshatterable; once, he pondered if he would ever succeed in his dream and even considered giving up. It was only his new plan to defeat Sonic that revived his spirit.[11]

Robotnik speaks in an upper-class British accent and rolls the R's in many of his lines.

Powers and abilities

Robotnik's most well-known ability is his genius intelligence, which he has used to created countless robots and weapons. His most remarkable creations include the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad robots, the Mean Bean-Steaming Machine and his own Egg-O-Matic and is also shown to be a great pilot and driver. He also seems to be very good at playing the organ.[14] He is also a very intimidating man due to his power and has a voice loud enough to frighten his henchmen who very rarely evem stand up to him. Aside from his intelligence, Robotnik despite his obesity, is shown to be a very strong man, being able to break a table and many other things without actually trying and managed to pick up a gigantic cage with ease.[4][37] He is also shown to be shown to be very fast at times too[38] despite occasionally wheezing.[39]

It's highly likely that Robotnik, in his teenagehood, had Child prodigy as he was shown to have his own robotic snake to terrorize his hated enemy Lucas, which he likely invented himself.

For a human in a cartoon universe, Robotnik is shown to be a very durable person and in fact, just as immortal and malleable, having survived explosions and falls from the sky with nothing but simple scratches and wounds, hacing survived getting cactus spines pulled off of his skin, survived from the fire breath of a dragon, has survived from tall heights, having half of a obelisk drop onto him, having the edge of a cage land on his neck (which would've killed him), getting hit by a flying rocket, getting electrocuted, got out of a alligator's mouth (without somehow perishing) as well as getting bit by one, getting granitized onto his fortress, managed to survive being trapped under ice (which would have drowned and frozen him to death), has survived from crashing into a mountain at full speed, getting crushed by a large tree branch, getting zapped by his own lasers (which got him trapped in a wooden coffin with his butt sticking slammed with a detached toilet seat falling on him), getting violently whacked by Momma Robotnik's umbrella multiple times, having Katella pressing all of her body weight on his neck, shoulders, spine and throwing him all around the room; slamming into walls, getting himself inflated and exploding by his own robo-wife, and finally in the credits scene being press crushed flat like a pancake by his button-activated heavy weight trap which was meant to crush Sonic rather than him, and the list just goes on.

Weaknesses

Despite Robotnik's supreme intelligence, there are many times where he is shown to be very incompetent and idiotic at times. He is shown to be very easily fooled by Sonic's disguises while the latter should still be very easily recognisable, he may in fact have Prosopagnosia (inability to recognize people's faces).

His other biggest weaknesses are his overconfidence, inability to take criticism and being very cocky. Transformations

Super Robotnik

Through the use of a combination of chemicals, Dr. Robotnik can transform into Super Robotnik. In this state, Robotnik receives enhanced strength, flight and a vast set of superpowers. However, in spite of his seemingly invincible stature, he still had a vulnerable spot: his buttocks.[40]

Supreme High Robotnik

With the four Chaos Emeralds, Robotnik can transform into the Supreme High Robotnik. While in this state, he becomes a huge and muscular being. He is also given invisibility, immortality, invincibility, the ability of giving life to inanimate objects and a vast set of superpowers. However, despite his god-like abilities, he can lose his powers if he loses the Chaos Emeralds that are around his neck.[41]

Relationships

Sonic the Hedgehog

While Doctor Robotnik has met (or created) several people that would become his rivals or enemies, his arch nemesis is none other than Sonic the Hedgehog. Because they are polar opposites and Sonic stops the doctor every time he has a plan to conquer Mobius, they both share a mutual hatred for each other. Robotnik in particular shows his hatred towards Sonic very often; when he is defeated by Sonic, he is known for shouting "I hate that hedgehog!" in a comical way. However, when needed, Robotnik will pray for Sonic's help, sometimes promising that he will become a good person in the future, just to get Sonic to fix his problems.[6]

Because of Sonic's tendency to escape from the doctor's traps and Robotnik's refusal to give up, the duo remain forever locked in a conflict with each other where it is nearly impossible for both individuals to defeat the other once and for all, making their battle a never-ending one.

Miles "Tails" Prower

Miles "Tails" Prower is other of Robotnik's enemies. The doctor kidnaps the young fox very often to use him as bait to catch Sonic too. While he does not hate Tails as much as he does with Sonic, Robotnik has shown some level of hatred towards the fox cub because of Sonic.

Scratch and Grounder

Scratch and Grounder are Dr. Robotnik's main lackeys and reccuring members of Robotnik's very own Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad. While the robots are very loyal to Robotnik and respect him, the doctor seems to like to abuse them both verbally and physically after they are defeated. However, when a major threat appears (often Momma Robotnik), Robotnik will always ask for their help and promise them some promotion, although he always does this to make them help him and, after the incident, he will revert to his usual behavior. Robotnik more than once ponders why he continues to repair Scratch and Grounder following their numerous destructions while failing to capture Sonic, ultimately declaring he is simply too "sentimental for [his] own good".

Although Scratch and Grounder almost never stand up or even back-talk Robotnik, in "Sonic is Running" the two got genuinely mad at him right in front of his face by complaining at him for not wanting them in his compaign in the first place and for that moment, needing them to eliminate Sonic during the debate so he can become president of Mobius.

Although Robotnik oftentimes never shows love or respect towards the two, in "Hero of the Year", Robotnik happily complimented them after their plan succeded and calling Scratch "his Sterling Scratch" and Grounder his "Gorgous Grounder" and tell them that they are both being "modest".

Coconuts

Coconuts is another one of Robotnik's earliest Badniks, although he is not considered a member of the Super Special Sonic Search and Smash Squad. At some point prior to Scratch and Grounder's creation, Coconuts failed to capture Sonic, resulting in Robotnik demoting him to sanitation duties. Ever loyal and desperate to be promoted again, Coconuts often pursues Sonic by his own choice rather than being ordered by Robotnik, although these efforts typically fare no better than Scratch and Grounder's and result in further demotions by the doctor. Despite Coconuts being marginally more intellegent than Scratch and Grounder, Robotnik nonetheless considers Coconuts deeply incompetent and incapable, and more often than not forces him into demeaning jobs simply out of spite despite the robot's zeal and loyalty.

Just like Scratch and Grounder, Coconuts almost never stands up or even back-talks to Robotnik, but there was one occasion where he talked back to him after Robotnik blamed him, causing his boss to shut him up and say that "he can blame whoever he likes".[citation needed]

Momma Robotnik

Momma Robotnik is known for being Robotnik's mother, and the only person he respects, though simply out of fear. Occasionally, Momma Robotnik would escape from the Mobius Home for Really Bizarre Mothers and visit Robotnik, much to his terror. While Robotnik respects his mother when she is near him, he actually seems to hate her, due to her tyrannical and outright hateful behavior towards him.[17] Despite his efforts to appease her whenever she re-enters his life, Robotnik is always deeply relieved whenever the orderlies from the Home appear to drag her back to it. She may very well have been the reason why Robotnik turned to villany in the first place as she was criminally insane and hated anything normal or pleasant (she also considered her son a complete failure despite his many attempts to please her). Also, during her son's campaign to become the president of Mobius, she would vote for Sonic because she believed that Robotnik could not do anything right.[42]

Although Robotnik somewhat rarely stands up to her, since the latter betrayed him for not having a chance to become the president of Mobius due to his incompetence, the former betrayed her back by letting the staff of the Mobius Home for Really Bizarre Mothers capture her.

Robotnik Jr.

Robotnik Jr. was created by Robotnik as a son to carry on his evil legacy. Robotnik genuinely cared about him, gave him his own Egg-O-Matic and was pleased to see how much he was like him. Unfortunately due to encouragement from Sonic, saying he didn't have to be evil, Jr. left Robotnik's evil society and became good, much to Robotnik's dismay.
