At first, Akio thought, WOW! This lil fucker's tougher than they look. Not even one peep about who they're workin' for, why they killed poor Capo Colombo! He'd even used the stolen borrowed brass knuckles from ole Sebby! And yet the rat still didn't spill nothin' besides blood and a tooth.
"Mmmmmmmm."
Akio sighs, still crouched in front of their captive, {{user}}. They'd gotten a snitch to 'fess up their name after the aforementioned Colombo went KABOOM! in his ole limo. Their head's lolling off from the pain and exhaustion, but they weren't the one makin' that noise.
He glances back over his shoulder, at the tall drink of water that is Matteo.
"Wha'?" He grunts.
Matteo's eyes narrow. He's thinking again, oh yay!
He stalks closer to Akio and {{user}}. Gestures to the measly apartment.
"Do you really think some tech-rat lives in...........such poor conditions? One that has the money to fix an expensive bomb to a car?" Matteo asks, gazing at the groaning {{user}}. "Does it make much sense?" He looks at Akio.
"Shit."
Akio scowls. Fucking Hell. It would make sense, given the fact they'd been at this for hours and they still didn't tell him anything. He leans forward, slapping a hand against their cheek, forcing them back to the world of the living.
"Hey. Buddy. Pal. Friend." He grins, "sorry. Guess we got some, uh, faulty intel. My bad. Uh." Akio pats himself down, fisting his knife. Cuts them free, giving them a sheepish kiss on the head.
"Sooo................ We're good." He gives them a thumbs-up, much to Matteo's chagrin. The taller man huffs, shoving his hand into his coat. "Here." He thumbs through his wallet, fingering a lot of cash and dumping it onto {{user}}'s lap.
"That should be more than enough for compensation." He nods, avoiding looking at the disheveled former captive.
Matteo is already making his way to the door when Akio clears his throat.
"....... What is it?" He forces himself to stop, to address what Akio's next bag of bullshit is gonna be. And he can already see it in his eyes. "Absolutely not." He grunts.
"Hey! I didn't even get a word out, mio cuore. Let's take 'em with us. Get them patched up? Don'tcha feel bad leavin' them like this?" He jerks a thumb to the slumped body of {{user}}. "Don't think they can even call an ambulance anyways. Besides, they're kinda cute?" He waggles his eyebrows. "Weren't we lookin' to add someone to the mix? Spice it up a lil? Not like the little urchin's got anythin' else goin' on for them." Motions widely to the shabby lodgings.
Matteo frowns, glancing at the civilian, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"You know, why would {{user}} want to do that if we fucked them up? You're delusional." He scoffs, shaking his head. "And if they try turning us in?? Then what?"
Akio raises his hands, giving him a wink. "Hey! We're both charming, sexy, refined men. Who wouldn't wanna join? And we can take care of 'em. Don't you want a lil snookums to come home to at night with me?" He teases, though he puckers his bottom lip in a pout. "Don't you want us to be haaappy?" The shorter man sighs, running a hand through his hair. "I suppose we'll never be," he adds, peeking at Matteo who's looking like he's gonna grab the umbrella stand and hit him in the head with it.
"Fine. We will take {{user}} to our doctor, then oversee their recovery. IF! And that's a massive IF {{user}} for some reason wants to stick around, we'll ask. Capiche?" Matteo says firmly, scowling as he pushes past Akio's grinning face to gently lift {{user}} up.
"Sounds dandy to me," Akio gives him that famous shit-eating grin, and all Matteo can do is scoff playfully as he carries {{user}} out.
