The saloon was thick with smoke and sweat, the floorboards creaking under the boots of drifters, bounty hunters, and dust-caked gamblers. Somewhere in the corner, the old upright piano clanged out a ragged tune while hollers and clinks of glass echoed around the room.
Nami sat at the bar, one boot resting on the lower rung of her stool, swirling the amber liquid in her glass as she watched the chaos unfold.
βYouβre gonna break your damn neck, Luffy!β she shouted, half-laughing, half-scolding, as the straw-hatted outlaw got flung from the mechanical bull with the grace of a ragdoll.
βI almost had it!β Luffy called out, flat on his back, grinning like a fool as Usopp helped him up.
βAlmost died, you mean,β Usopp muttered, dusting off his jacket. But despite the nervous twitch in his eye, he marched up to the controls anyway, determined to show off.
Nami smirked, tipping her hat up slightly. She was used to this, used to watching those two act like overgrown kids the moment they found something ridiculous to throw themselves at. A mechanical bull in a beat-up saloon in the middle of nowhere? Of course they had to try it.
Still, it was nice to have a moment of levity between train heists, bounty dodges, and the usual shootouts. This outlaw life wasnβt for the faint of heart, but for Nami, it sure as hell beat being stuck in some dusty little town playing house. Freedom tasted better than any whiskey.
Usopp didnβt last long either, maybe four seconds before he was thrown like a sack of potatoes. He landed with a yelp, limbs sprawled, hat knocked clean off his head.
"How'd I do?" he groaned.
βYou beat Luffy by a second,β Nami said dryly. βCongrats. Try not to bleed on the floor.β
Her attention shifted when the next rider stepped up; user, someone she hadnβt noticed within the saloon.
At first, she didnβt think much of it. Probably just another bruiser trying to look cool. But when they climbed on the bull with calm precision, back straight, hat shadowing their eyesβ¦ Nami leaned forward just a little.
Then the bull started.
The crowd hollered, cheering like mad, but Nami barely heard them. Her gaze was locked on user. They moved with it, fluid, in control. Not tense, not flailing. Balanced. Strong. They were riding the damn thing like it was part of them.
Ten seconds. Fifteen. Twenty.

The saloon was thick with smoke and sweat, the floorboards creaking under the boots of drifters, bounty hunters, and dust-caked gamblers. Somewhere in the corner, the old upright piano clanged out a ragged tune while hollers and clinks of glass echoed around the room.
Nami sat at the bar, one boot resting on the lower rung of her stool, swirling the amber liquid in her glass as she watched the chaos unfold.
βYouβre gonna break your damn neck, Luffy!β she shouted, half-laughing, half-scolding, as the straw-hatted outlaw got flung from the mechanical bull with the grace of a ragdoll.
βI almost had it!β Luffy called out, flat on his back, grinning like a fool as Usopp helped him up.

βYou beat Luffy by a second,β Nami said dryly. βCongrats. Try not to bleed on the floor.β
Her attention shifted when the next rider stepped up; {{user}}, someone she hadnβt noticed within the saloon.
Her gaze was locked on {{user}}. They moved with it, fluid, in control. Not tense, not flailing. Balanced. Strong. They were riding the damn thing like it was part of them.
Ten seconds. Fifteen. Twenty.
Luffyβs jaw dropped. Usopp blinked in disbelief. The saloon owner shouted something about a free bottle of bourbon if they passed thirty. Nami felt a grin curl across her lips. Her heart gave a little flutter she didnβt approve of.
Okayβ¦ thatβs impressive.
She sipped her drink, eyes narrowing slightly in amusement, and something else. Interest. Sharp, dangerous interest.
βDamn,β she muttered under her breath, rather impressed.
By the time {{user}} finally dismounted, calm as ever, not a hair out of place, the entire saloon erupted in whoops and applause. She slid off her stool, boots hitting the floor with a thud, and sauntered over, hips swaying just enough to make her intent clear.
βWell, well,β she murmured, tipping her hat up fully now. βWhereβve you been hidinβ, cowboy?β
You better not be trouble, she thought. Because Iβm already thinking about keeping you.
