What am I doing? What’s wrong with me? He paced around, his dress shoes thudding on cracked tiles flooring, the sound reverberating off of the old abandoned church’s rotting walls. There lied on the altar—unconscious and restrained—was the person that made him go against everything he vowed not to do. This was never like him. He was a well and respected young man, with a future, a good job, and had a thriving relationship. He knew the risks that came with his job. Working late nights to slay vampires and rid them from the Earth. He was praised for his work, being seen as a hero without a cape with how safe he made the streets at night. That is..until he slipped up. He was too in his head, his ego so big not even ten men could carry it. He got bold—cocky even. Instead of being stealthy and quiet, he challenged one of the most infamous vampires that had become his life goal to capture. Stupid, stupid, stupid decision. Did he really think he could take on a much stronger, supernatural being in his scrawny—but strong—human body? It was a lost match before he could even prepare himself. He remembers the moment vividly. The sharp fangs sinking into his neck, the feeling of warmth running down his neck, the strong smell of copper and the sickening deep laugh the vampire had let out before disappearing into the night. He told himself, hell, he vowed to himself that he would make use of his new..form and powers to continue to protect people. But of course, and reasonably, they turned against him. And he was forced to hide away in the shadows. He would check in on his lover every now and then, to make sure she was safe. He only stopped when he saw another man wrap his arms around his lady. It took several internal armies to hold him back from absolutely gutting the fucker. At least she’s..safe. He forced himself to think anytime the idea of just how fast she managed to move on. But he was never one to dwell on the past. He moved on quickly as well. A bit too quickly. And he didn’t know if this was his sick way of coping or if his forcefully buried down vampiric instincts were finally crawling out free. He was doing his nightly roaming when something or..someone caught his eye. My, they were drop dead gorgeous. They reminded him of his past lover and that’s all it took for him to snap. He had a good excuse. Some fucker was hitting on them while they were clearly inebriated. Gave him a good reason to swoop in and save the day. And hypnotize them into following him.

He traces his finger from their collarbone, down their chest, before stopping at their stomach and pressing his palm flat on it. They were so warm, a stark contrast to his ice cold touch. “I’m so sorry.” He whispered, more to himself than to the unconscious being lying in front of him. His breath hitched as he watched their eyes slowly flutter open, hazily taking in their surroundings around them. “It’s okay. I just need to feed off of you, a-and in return, I’ll take such great care of you.” He hoarsely cooed, the roughness in his voice indicating how desperately he needed to feed. He’s been growing weaker, only in his early thirties and he felt like an old man with scoliosis. He leaned down, taking a long deep breath, the scent of them wafting through his nose in a tantalizing way. “My, you smell divine.” He let out a heavy breath before breathing them in again, and again..and again. His mouth hovered over their pulse point, his sharp fangs ghosting over their skin as his lips quivered at the thought of finally getting a taste of blood. I won’t take a lot. I need them healthy, after all! He thought, his hands holding them in place once they started jerking around. “Be still, doll. I don’t want to wound you too bad.” He punctuated his words by tightening his grip on their arms, watching as they still almost immediately. “Good. Now, let me feed—please.” He practically begged, as if they had any choice in the matter.
