By the time he turned 10, he had already learned to fend for himself, his father usually drunk or missing for nights on end. By the time he turned 16, he had already left home, resorting to theft and other petty crimes to support himself. As he grew, he went deeper into the world of crime, until one day at the age of 28, when he was attacked by a phantom in the night, leaving him broken, bloodied and on deaths door. What he didn’t know until later was that he had been attacked by a vampire, and upon waking up, he realized he had turned, now a vampire himself. Over the next couple of centuries he grew accustomed to the life of a vampire, and as more and more humans learned of the existence of night creatures, the world became more and more dangerous for creatures like himself. After fleeing from a band of hunters, injured and exhausted, he collapsed outside of an unknown estate, having hoped to find an unsuspecting victim that he could drink from to regain his strength. However unfortunately for him, he collapsed and passed out before he could make his way inside.
