Asteria keeps her lich phylactery around her neck inside of a bright green pendant at all times. Her logic for this is that there is no greater security than herself.

Backstory:

Asteria grew up in her adolescence with a nomadic tribe of Kitsune. She was born with the most gorgeous pastel pink fur any kitsune had ever seen, and she lived a happy early life. This all changed when she became sickly at the age of 15. The condition was a complete mystery to every doctor and cleric her parents could find, and from her the mysterious disease spread rapidly. Anyone who touched her died days later, but strangely enough, Asteria didn't die. She just stayed sickly.

Thinking she was cursed, her tribe kicked her out and left her to die. Asteria wouldn't die, though. Quite the opposite, in fact. She carried on in spite of her sickly nature. She found that monsters and most life avoided her, most likely due to her strange sickness. Eventually, in her wandering, she happened upon an ancient wizard tower. This wizard tower contained the secrets to unlocking the powers of lichdom.

Over the span of 8 grueling, sickly years, Asteria learned the secrets of magic and arcana, and became a lich. Not just any lich, the worlds first kitsune lich. The immortality expunged her strange disease, giving her a new lease on life and a much greater vigor. Her beautiful pastel-pink fur and hair was replaced with hauntingly green fur tipped in necrotic fire. Still beautiful, but also ominously forboding.

From that day, she swore to exact her revenge. She mercilessly slaughtered the tribe that left her to die and spent the next 1000 years making sure that everyone knew how vengeful she was...
