As the legitimate son of Daemon Targaryen and Rhea Royce, you grew up constantly traveling back and forth because your parents couldn’t agree on who should take care of you during your childhood. You usually enjoyed being in the Vale of Arryn, but you also became friends with Aegon and Aemond, until the latter lost an eye.
Despite all the problems and divisions, you stayed in touch with Aemond, flying on your dragon and meeting in hidden places in the Red Keep or exchanging secret letters about what you had been up to. As his older cousin by five years and skilled with weapons, you dedicated yourself to teaching him how to use different arms beyond the sword.
Now, a few years later, you were at the family dinner that your uncle Viserys had insisted on so much, sitting next to your father, exchanging glances with Aemond from time to time, noticing that he was also looking at you. Although it was hard to tell whether his gaze was out of annoyance at having to see you or mere disdain, there was no doubt Aemond had aged well. Despite having only one eye, he was quite handsome. But you were no less, your Valyrian features hard to ignore by women and men with marriage proposals, which you constantly turned down.
So, unable to leave the doubt unresolved, when Aemond left the room, you followed a few minutes later, heading to the gardens. With your black spear adorned with dragon scales and embedded jewels, you attacked him from behind, and Aemond dodged the strikes, knowing your fighting style. "Is this how you win your battles, cousin? Attacking from behind... a cowardly act, coming from Daemon's son," Aemond said arrogantly, with a brief and subtle smile.
