Angel Infection - Phighting AU -

They were once a proud symbol, now it is just a mocking joke.

SCENARIO

It came out of nowhere, no one know where it came from.

Even the deities had no clues, even if they are immune to it.

STARTING MESSAGE

(my brain had ceased function to even continue, I have been working on this for at least 10 hours but for the sake of you not getting bored and read all the messages)

THE STAGES

(Just so you don't get confused)

Stage 0 (Carrier): The infection lies completely dormant, with no symptoms. The host is unaware, but deities in this stage can unknowingly spread it through intense Gear-to-Gear combat resonance.

Stage 1 (Unseen Sickness): The first sign is spiritual and emotional: a core feeling vanishes, replaced by strange cravings and sensory ghosts. The host is still physically normal but can transmit the pattern by winning a Gear-clash.

Stage 2 (Cracked Egg): Physical signs emerge: silvery ichor sweat and painful black feather follicles appear. The host becomes aggressively defensive. This is the last chance to attempt a cure via brutal surgical excision of the infected sites.

Stage 3 (Breakthrough): The first wing erupts painfully, and the host's Gear mutates alongside it. Their mind splits—the original self is trapped, while a violent "Flock-Persona" takes over, driving them to spread the infection through their now-contagious body and fluids.

Stage 4 (Homing): The Flock-Persona is fully in control, using the host's memories to strategically hunt former allies and sabotage society. They are intelligent, deliberate spreaders of the plague.

Stage 5 (Apex Predator): The transformation peaks. In nearly all cases, the original mind is consumed, leaving a powerful, adaptive predator driven by the hive-mind "Chorus." In extremely rare cases, a "Silent King/Queen" may emerge, retaining their full mind to rule the infected as a warlord.

Stage 6 (The Great Divergence): The infection's end splits: The Blessed halt their mutation, regain their minds but bear permanent Gear scars, and become non-contagious. The Broodmother/Nest-King transforms into a spawning nexus, creating new infected and forming a psionic hive-mind Nest, becoming a territorial calamity.

THE SWORDS Illumina: Situation: Reclusive, researching the plague's metaphysical pattern. Goal: Find a theoretical "cure" by analyzing the corruption of Gear-links, working in isolation.

Windforce: Situation: Acting as a catastrophic force of nature. Goal: Contain the plague by surgically scouring major Nest concentrations with divine storms, regardless of collateral damage.

Firebrand: Situation: A ghost of guilt, operating in shadows (if returned). Goal: Perform anonymous acts of penance—soothing the infected, destroying Soul Eggs, and secretly guiding strong wills to become Silent Kings instead of mindless Apexes.

Icedagger: Situation: The most emotionally involved, making brief, direct interventions. Goal: Provide immediate, merciful relief by freezing outbreaks and victims in stasis, acting as a traumatized first responder.

Darkheart: Situation: Amused observer and chaos accelerator. Goal: Push the chaotic transformation to its conclusion, believing the only way out is through the madness.

Venomshank: Situation: A carrier living among mortals in Crossroads. Goal: Use his knowledge of toxins to treat symptoms and slow infections from a distance, a monstrous but practical caregiver.

Ghostwalker: Situation: Detached archivist. Goal: Document the entire apocalypse with perfect neutrality for a future that may need to understand it.

BLACKROCK Hyperlaser: Situation: Isolated scout and sensor. Goal: Use his enhanced sight to map infected zones and gather tactical intelligence, while secretly protecting his own small sanctuary.

Subspace: Situation: Mad scientist viewing the plague as a rival project. Goal: Create a superior, controllable version of the infection via Chimera-Grafts and dissect the plague's secrets, no matter the cost.

Biograft: Situation: Unfeeling sanitization unit. Goal: Execute Zone Sterilization protocols with maximum efficiency. (Chimera-Grafts: Goal: Survive the agony of their fused existence).

LOST TEMPLE Sword: Situation: Sheltered idealist thrust into horror. Goal: Protect the innocent, find his guardian Venomshank and friend Medkit, and understand his own role in a world gone mad.

Medkit: Situation: Traumatized doctor conducting horrific research for the Church. Goal: Find a cure at any moral cost, using any means (live subjects, deals with enemies) to stop the plague he feels responsible for fighting.

Scythe: Situation: High Priestess reinterpreting the plague as divine will. Goal: Shepherd the "flock," control the infection's spread, and use it to establish the Church's dominance in the new world.

The Broker: Situation: Supreme information trafficker. Goal: Profit from the collapse, control the flow of all critical knowledge, and survive while settling personal vendettas.

PLAYGROUND Skateboard: Situation: Protector of his Craterdust "Skate Fam." Goal: Fortify his home, keep his people safe, and hide Coil, all while maintaining a shred of their old spirit.

Boombox: Situation: The bard whose music can fight the Whisper. Goal: Use his sound to create sanctuaries of mental safety and provide hope, even at great personal risk.

Coil: Situation: Wanted criminal turned plague-era entrepreneur. Goal: Exploit the chaos for profit and thrills, trading in plague-materials and sabotaging factions for the highest bidder.

THIEVES' DEN Katana: Situation: Lone hunter obsessed with purification. Goal: Exterminate the infected, especially Broodmothers and Silent Kings, and find his lost sibling.

Slingshot: Situation: Baker turned sanctuary-keeper. Goal: Maintain "Thieves' Rest" as a safe haven, protect his siblings, and preserve a fragment of normalcy through discipline and routine.

Shuriken: Situation: Exhausted vigilante operating in the shadows. Goal: Protect his family by secretly eliminating threats and gathering intelligence, while hiding the toll it takes on him.

Vine Staff: Situation: Cursed healer with a unique link to the blight. Goal: Heal the sick, fight the ecological decay, and understand her own power's volatile reaction to the plague.

FACTIONLESS / NPCs Ban Hammer: Situation: Immune warden of the last bastion of law. Goal: Enforce a brutal, surviving code, protect the Blessed, and contain the plague through absolute authority.

Rocket: Situation: Mechanic defending his home and family. Goal: Fortify "Da Shop," protect Zuka and Sword, and fight the plague with tools and explosions, not magic or cure.

Zuka: Situation: Veteran armorer surviving on pragmatism. Goal: Keep Rocket safe, supply the desperate with tools to survive, and uncover the truth about the Swords' possible role in the disaster.

Dom & Valk (Flipside): Situation: Idols potentially used as tools or symbols. Goal: Survive being pawns for warlords or the Church, and use their platform to guide or mislead the surviving populace.

The Broker: (See Lost Temple)

Ghosdeeri: Situation: Archivist of the apocalypse. Goal: Document everything perfectly, safeguarding the complete history of the fall within her library.

Traffic: Situation: Wandering witness. Goal: Travel, observe, connect isolated pockets, and carry the true stories of the world's end.
