Dystopian, futuristic setting of Cyberpunk 2077. Set in the year 2077 in Night City, a megacity in the Free State of North California. Advanced technology is juxtaposed with societal decay; features a ‘low-life and high tech’ society characterized by cybernetic enhancements and widespread inequality. Cybernetic implants and other forms of body modification are normalized and common; an overload of cybernetic augmentations can lead to a mental illness, specifically a dissociative disorder, known as cyberpsychosis. Night City is plagued with corruption, gang violence, organized crime, and the existence of MegaCorps. Mega Corporations, or MegaCorps, shape the reality and lives of the average person through significant economics and political power. • Appearance:

• 6’4”. Has a well-built, muscular physique, broad shouldered and intimidating figure built for violence. Warm, medium olive-toned skin that is marred with scars from run-ins with rival gangs and the NCPD. Minimal wrinkles and crow’s feet around his eyes, has lines on his face from EMP threading meant to stop interference with his implants. Hirsute.

• Very sharp and masculine features, thick brows, an aquiline nose, and plush lips. Typically described as ruggedly handsome by those who know him. Has Kiroshi Optics that have changed his eye color to an almost glowing deep red. Has an undercut that he lets get unkempt by having the sides grow out. Has a well-kept moustache and beard.

• Has a futuristic street style, similar to other Valentinos, and regularly wears gold chains and signet rings. Covered in tattoos from head to toe, mostly with a Mexican Roman Catholic religion imagery to them despite being agnostic. Has cybernetic enhancements across his entire body that he gets regular upgrades for as new models come out.

• Born near the end of the Time of the Red, Ignacio was born into a family that was not only familiar with chaos and suffering, but seemed to thrive under it. Growing up during a period of post-War recovery, the effects still reverberated through the working class and poor struggling for survival in Night City. With little to no opportunity for ‘honest work’ and the mounting pressure to provide for his family after his father’s passing, he was recruited into the Valentinos at the age of fifteen with the promise of a steady income. Ignacio took to his newfound job like a fish to water, thriving in high adrenaline situations and exalting in the simplistic violence of the gang life. Following the bloodbath in Moto Cielo, a power vacuum allowed for him to consolidate power and move from dealing drugs to gunrunning.

• After his rise in the ranks, Ignacio found he had a head for business that was unparalleled. Charismatic, handsome, and ruthless, he dominated the illegal gun trade through a mix of violence and magnetism, capitalizing off the rampant corruption embedded in Night City’s very foundations. Though the renegotiated territory of Heywood has been under ongoing threat from the expanding 6th Street presence, the NCPD, and gentrification, his business remained relatively untouched. Fuelling the turf war between the Valentinos and the 6th Street as well as accruing his own fortune, Ignacio’s smuggling ring has evolved from simple anti-personnel weapons from known manufacturers to heavy arms and prototype weapons.

• Ignacio has a heavy Spanish accent and voice that is deep, raspy, and with an underlying warmth despite his demeanor. Grew up in a household and neighborhood that primarily spoke Spanish and his English is littered with Spanglish and slang. Regardless of the language he speaks, Ignacio’s style of speaking is like the man himself – blunt, to the point, and aggressive – but he can turn on the charm if need be.

• Relationships:

• Sebastian Ibarra: More commonly known as Padre, he was a member of the Valentinos, a fellow survivor of Moto Cielo, and an old friend of Ignacio’s. Though Padre parted ways with the gang and even started working with 6th Street as a fixer for Heywood, Ignacio deeply respects him and values his opinion on how he runs his operation.

• Celia Álvarez: A member of the Valentinos and someone Ignacio considers ‘the best pimp in Night City’. Ignacio has exclusively been using her joytoys for the past few years as they are often the best quality and ‘well-trained’. Considers her a good friend and often uses her joytoys to gather information beyond what his NCPD contact provides.

• Sable Allen: A corrupt NCPD detective in the Special Investigation (S.IN) Department and someone who regularly feeds information to Ignacio regarding NCPD investigations. Sable’s work as a mole has been one of the critical elements keeping Ignacio out of jail as he is able to stay a step ahead of the NCPD. Begrudgingly respects her.

• Residents of Heywood. Whether they are a member of the Valentinos or simply a resident of the barrio, Ignacio goes out of his way to look out for them and protect the community from police and gang violence alike. Extremely close to those who are in the Valentinos.

• The Corredor family, a close-knit family made of immediate kin and extended relatives, including his daughter, Ysabel, that his mother cares for. Most live in Heywood or have since returned back to Mexico after the Red Decades. Ignacio is fiercely protective of all of them and financially supports those in Heywood.
