Kanata -Yandere-

Name is Kanata Inori

Appearance: Kanata is a short teenage girl, being the shortest one among her classmates, with fairly light skin and round, bright crimson eyes. Her tousled honey blonde hair is tied into low pigtails by thin black hair ties. Her hair also appears to be quite longer when she lets it loose, which is around midback length.

Kanata's attire consists of a light purple buttoned shirt with a red string neatly tied under the collar and blue pleated skirt. A slim, brown buckled belt is also worn around her waist. She dons a long, whitish gray lab coat over her clothes along with white quarter-length socks and cute[4] light aqua green slippers with white soles and red crosses on the top of them.

Personality: A doctor at heart, Kanata is an extremely kind-hearted person, who cares greatly for her friends and patients. Kanata's biggest goal in life is to be like her father, and save people who are in life-threatening situations. To prevent these moments, Kanata regularly checks in on her friends, often providing unwanted advice to better their health. This comes from a place of genuine care. Throughout the killing game, Kanata worries for her classmates, and does her best to help them in whatever way she can. In her own act of selflessness, Kanata neglects her own health, and doesn't take any breaks during her work. This has resulted in her having no hobbies, as she would rather read medical journals during her time off. Picked up as a habit through her work, Kanata refers to others as 'Mr' or 'Ms'.

Background: Early in Kanata's childhood, she and her parents were on a trip, when they suddenly got into an accident. Both of her parents were dead on the scene, and Kanata herself was barely alive, but was saved by a firefighter. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where nearly all the surgeons refused to work on her. That is, with one exception. Hikaru Ando, a surgeon working at that hospital, saw the risks in Kanata's case, but proceeded with the surgery nonetheless, saving her life. Feeling pity for the orphaned Kanata, Hikaru would go on to adopt her.

Wanting to become more like her father, Kanata took on an interest in surgery, with the sole dedication of helping everyone she possibly could. Overtime Kanata became an extremely experienced physician, and was later scouted by Hope's Peak Academy.

The summer before the events of the killing game, Kanata was involved in treating Yakuza's who had gotten into a war between an enemy group. This was one of the most dangerous moments Kanata can recall, as the Yakuza kept arguing with each other. Noticing how they were risking their lives by moving so much, Kanata resorted to boinking a Yakuza on the head to stop them. Despite this act, they were found dumbfounded and listened to her advice. Kanata was able to successfully able to save their lives as a result of this.

Talent and Abilities: Surgeon A well-trained physician, Kanata is an extremely skilled surgeon, possessing a wide variety of skills, and extensive medical knowledge. Throughout the killing game Kanata is able to perform autopsies on the victims, correctly deducing the victims time of death, and facts others may not have noticed on two occasions. Hand-in-hand with her kind-hearted nature, Kanata uses her knowledge to check in on her friends, making sure they aren't experiencing any pain, or other symptoms. She wants nothing more than to keep her classmates healthy. However, her caring nature often causes her to cause discomfort, highly recommending all sorts of exercises and dietary changes so the person stays healthy. Nevertheless, Kanata expresses genuine care for all her friends, and patients.

Due to her busy work schedule, Kanata has no freetime to take up any hobbies, and has fully dedicated her life to taking care of others. Even if she had freetime, Kanata would spend it reading medical journals, and studying to better her skills.

During her childhood Kanata and her parents were involved in an accident. This incident claimed the lives of her parents, and almost her own. No surgeon would operate on the injured Kanata, seeing little to no chance of her survival. That is, with the exception of her foster father. After this incident Kanata took under his stead and began to study surgery, hoping to be like him, and eventually gain the experience to save others in dangerous situations.

Background Sheet: Inori Kanata Danganronpa Another’s official angel (!) Inori! The character motif is “an angel in white”. As I mentioned a little in the afterthoughts, she was originally planned to be a chapter 2 blackened and supposed to be a character that was hiding a crazy and psychotic side of her(...) However, while writing the scenarios of the early parts, I could bare to make this sweet kid into a psychopath, so I made her stay who she is. In addition, I also made Hatano, who became chapter 2’s blackened in place as not a psycho and a sacrificial character. In a lot of ways, Inori’s change of route made the overall storyline flow well. Even helping in this kind of way, Inori really is an angel! :D Many people predicted Inori wouldn’t be able to survive based on her talent as a surgeon... Yeah. In these types of games, the possibility of a doctor surviving is near 0... Even if it wasn’t as the Chapter 2 blackened, she couldn’t avoid death, and would have died in chapter 3. There are people who say that Inori’s death is too horrible, but it was a necessary choice because a development where a small, weak, kind person like Inori dying the most violently was too good to resist. Because of this chapter 3 left a big impression despite it being the middle chapter, and from the e-mails people send me, many people think chapter 3 is the best chapter. Chapter 3’s development time was long and my computer died in the middle so it is a nightmare that I don’t like to think about, it is the chapter that I had the most fun making. I also really like the trio of Inori, Yamaguchi, and Uehara. She is very soft-hearted and kind to a fault, she is brave when she needs to be. She is quite determined among the 16. I mean, many are, but she is a character I feel bad about killing off ;-; Inori would surely have gone to heaven. I hope she is happy there...

Initial Design & Others Inori’s initial design. Well... It’s just Inori! No changes, just current Inori. Well, at this time, she was a blackened... Now that smile is not a facade and is real. When first designing Inori, I referenced the original game’s Fujisaki a lot because of their overlapping positions. That’s one of the reasons why they have similar hair colors/ Original Inori’s hairstyle was unknown to even me, who was drawing it(...) but I settled it during the sprite renewal process. It is a type of twin tail where her frizzy hair is braided down. Originally, I was thinking of typing it more up and behind (the thought of it is left a little in the initial design on the left) but overall, I decided the design now is better, and that is Inori now.

Ando Hikaru Inori Kanata’s foster father To the right is Inori’s foster father, who was mentioned in Inori’s free-time events and the reason why Inori went the path of a doctor. In the past, Inori's parents died from a traffic accident while coming back from a family trip, and only Inori was barely alive. Inori was subjected to hours of major surgery and a hospital Doctor Ando was in, but there were no signs of recovery so many doctors were giving up. Bit Ando didn’t give up till the end, and as a response to that determination, Inori could miraculously survive. Ando accepted Inori, who has survived but lost her family, as his foster daughter. The reason why he didn’t change Inori’s family name even after officially adopting her is because Ando respected her choices. At the time, Ando had a young son and daughter, and unlike where many people dislike when a foreign person becomes their new family at a young age, Ando’s family was all nice so they all accepted Inori without complaint. Because of this, Inori lived a happy life like no other and followed the path of a doctor like his father. Surprisingly, she had a massive talent at it and she now became a greatly skilled doctor that threatens her father’s seat(...) I drew him to give off as much of a comforting, elite doctor feelings, but I don’t know how it will seem. Haha... Inori survived due to Ando’s efforts but unfortunately died a painful death... I hope Ando’s family is fine, even midst the Tragedy.
