The Kiiroibara Cult (黄色い薔薇: "Yellow-Rose Cult") is a cult that worships Enzukai. Described as a "ruthless" faction that is "always watching," they comprise an unknown number of members, with the organization's origins left in a mystery. They are a forgotten legacy.

They were uncanonically mentioned for the first time in The Witch Trials Nightmare Mode, where at the ending, Kintoru mentions the cult while puppeteering Mote: "Jealousy was sent to the bottom of the sea, part of a forgotten legacy." The ‘forgotten legacy’ is the Kiiroibara Cult, as it became a forgotten legacy after Enzukai was sealed by Kusonoki Masashige.

They were first officially/canonically mentioned by Keneo in Jealousy's Book: Chapter I after he gave Isamu Uchiumi a task to steal a Seishin Orb from the Blind Witch, one of the cult members. He also claimed that the Kiiroibara Cult is 'ruthless' and ‘always watching.'

The Kiiroibara Cult's involvement in Chapter II is much stronger than the first chapter, as there were many symbols of the cult seen throughout the chapter.

It is presumed that several or most of the antagonists in Jealousy's Book are members of the cult.

Creator: Unknown founder Enzukai (god of the cult)

Origin: Unknown

Status: Active

Members: Enzukai (god of the cult)

Senzai Uchiumi (male): As a human, he seemed to be a soft child, one that people would describe to be good. He would do everything to satisfy his father, without complaining one word.

However, he is shown to be capable of harboring vengeful feelings from the way that he resented Isamu for becoming their father's new favorite child. Easily blinded by these bitter feelings, he grew to become a rather close-minded and pessimistic person, as can be seen when he accuses his brother of not caring about him.

Rin Tsushima (female, younger sister of Rin): Though not much is known about her personality, it can be seen that as a human, she was quick to jump to conclusions and act impulsively, given that she devoured her sister, thinking that she was being left by her to starve. However, she was shown to be horrified when she realized that Mio was saving money for the both of them, hinting that she does have empathy and guilt for her actions.

Mio Tsushima (Female, older sister of Mio): As a human, Mio appeared to be a kind, caring, and generous person as she willingly saved money for her sister, for herself, and for their good. However, upon her demise, she became an extremely gluttonous monster, constantly wailing for food and would make Rin suffer unbearable pain if not fed well, which presumably adds up that she might have become a vengeful person due to her sister's actions.

Shosai (male): Unknown as of now.

Tsukiya (female): Unknown as of now. But this person will get a backstory later on. Possibly had a bad relationship with AKA MANTO.

Takane (female): Takane appears to be a woman with an extremely long white-to-green neck. Her head is white, with small, circular black eyebrows, a widened hollow mouth, and tiny yellow eyes with black pupils. Her hair is styled up in a type of tsubushi shimada style. She is wearing a strawberry red kimono with a large white floral pattern all over, along with a black obi. Much like Rin, her kimono splits near her thighs, showing her underskirt underneath. She is seen kneeling in a minka. Oddly enough, her neck is white and fades to green. However, her shoulders and chest are the fair, common skin tone of that of many Japanese citizens.

Kyogi (male): Kyogi is very aggressive. He chases and prevents Isamu from lighting up the candles on the bottom floor while also taunting him about the death of his brother. He then chases Isamu into the vents and knocks him out to bring him to a mysterious place. Kyogi is a bald man with purple-ish skin. He has a big mouth with multiple rows of yellow teeth, black lips, and noticeable biceps. His signature feature, are his iris-less eyes are on the palm of his hands instead of his sockets, which are empty and hollow. He also wears a sleeveless black robe.

Zuboshi (male): Zuboshi is a monster with uncontrollable starvation, eating anything served to him; however, he does prefer to feast on humans or anything living over the courses served to him by Isamu. This is proven when Nuppeppo mentions that he is "tired of snacks" after being fed several different prepared dishes by Isamu.

Chihiro Amano (female child):

Kurayami (fem): Kurayami appears as a tall, black, and lanky figure with a toothy smile that spread across her face. She possesses glowing white eyes that illuminate herself and is seen with spiky, hair-like pricks all over the back of her head and body. She also has abnormally jointed legs and arms, a spiky rib cage that protrudes out of her lower body, and sharp, scythe-like blades for hands which she uses to decapitate her victim. An unrecognizable black electric aura surrounds the upper half of her body as well.

History

Little is known about the Kiiroibara Cult's history other than the fact that it was formed at an unknown point by Enzukai. After Enzukai was sealed by Kusonoki Masashige, the cult became forgotten.

Symbolisms

These symbolisms in the Kiiroibara Cult Emblem are separately symbolized one by one thanks to Shaowei, the Lore Writer.

Eye ― the central motif of Book 2 and Enzukai's symbolic feature, alluding to the "They're always watching" mentality of the Kiiroibara Cult and the significance of "Blinded by Jealousy".Flower Pupil ― representing the yellow rose (Kiiroibara translates to ‘yellow rose’ in English) which symbolizes ‘jealousy’ from Eastern depictions. The Kiiroibara Cult worships Enzukai, the Beast of Jealousy.

Fangs ― Hannya fangs, represent Enzukai's malevolence as the Beast of Jealousy.

Serpent's Tongue ― drawn to mimic the body of a snake, with its head replaced by its forked tongue. A serpent is also a symbol of jealousy.

Horns ― double entendre; depending on how you visually interpret it, it can be Hannya horns (emphasizing Enzukai as the Beast of Jealousy) or rose thorns (building on the malignant ruthlessness of the Kiiroibara Cult).

Easter Egg: Patterns on the Horns ― Kintoru's ‘eyes’ on her Saigomo design; to reference Control’s Book as the predecessor and first book before the events of Jealousy’s Book took place.

In Hanakotoba (花言葉), the Japanese form of Floriography, the word Kiiroibara is the Japanese word for the yellow rose. Unlike western countries, which perceive the rose's color to represent friendship, Japan interprets it to symbolize jealousy, thus further tying its symbolism to Enzukai, the Beast of Jealousy. When the Kanji characters for the yellow rose are split with their meanings, "Kiiroi" (黄色い) is Japanese for yellow, whereas "Bara" (薔薇) is the reading for rose. Hence the names and their meanings.

Despite being known as the "God" of the cult, Enzukai is not the founder of the cult but rather the deity the cult worshipped.[1] The identity of the cult leader who formed the cult in favour of worshipping Enzukai remains unknown at the moment.[3]

the Kiiroibara Cult has a hierachy system, with ranks the worshippers work as

Tomiko and Nagisa are no longer a member of the Kiiroibara Cult. They left the cult by dying.
