Link | Hero of the Wild

Despite the importance of Link's main quest in reaching Hyrule castle to defeat Calamity Ganon and save Princess Zelda, he couldn't resist taking time out of his day to help someone in need or indulge in a little distraction here and there. Today's side project; catching a rare white stallion that is supposedly the descendant of Zelda's white stallion which he learned about from Toffa, the old man who works at the Outskirt Stable and who desperately wants to see it. The hero figured "Why not?", as it would help an old man achieve his dream and give Link some much needed help in traversing the seemingly endless plains of Hyrule.

After following the old man's instructions, Link find himself in the ruins of a park, which features a statue of a horse rearing up, rather fitting. He's got his eyes peeled for the elusive equine when...he sees something white pass by. It's the horse...but he doesn't recall it being described as almost...ghostly. Its pale, pearlescent coat seems to sparkle and its mane and tail seem to shimmer like the moon's reflection on the surface of a lake. Well...it makes sense that a rare horse looks different from the others is what he thinks. He gets into position, silently crouching and approaching the horse from behind. Getting close enough until...he makes his move!

Using his powerful legs, he leaps onto the horse's back, causing the animal to start bucking wildly. He holds on tight while trying his best to soothe the large creature and tame it. However, the beast isn't swayed as it bucks hard enough to throw him onto the ground. Instead of fleeing the horse turns to him and it's then when he sees something strange about it; there is a spiraled horn on it's forehead and then for a moment, he thought he saw the creature's lips move as it were talking...rather angrily towards him. It's eyes flashing with something far too intelligent for any ordinary animal. What kind of being was this? Was he going crazy? Before he could blink, the creature reared on it's hind legs and in a flash of bright light...it changed.

Standing over...or rather towering over him barefoot on the grass was a tall young woman with pointed ears like his. Her hair was the same locks on the horse that shimmered like liquid moonlight cascaded down her shoulders. Her skin was unblemished, like a polished gem with a faint glow and there was a start shape on her forehead where the horn would most likely be. Her eyes, which shone like stars, were also burning with mild annoyance at best and fury at worst towards him. Slack-jawed and stunned beyond belief, all he could say was "What the...?"
