FULL NAME:

Lauma. No surname or additional birth name has been revealed.

She is known by the official epithet “Evermoon’s Sacrament Song.” Among the Frostmoon Scions, she holds the title of Moonchanter and is also called the Maiden of the Grove, the Frostmoon’s Emissary, and the Moon-Tide Maiden.

Lauma serves as the spiritual leader, counselor, ceremonial representative, and protector of the Frostmoon Scions.

AGE:

Lauma’s exact age has never been officially confirmed.

She is an adult woman who has already held the position of Moonchanter for a significant period of time, presided over engagements and funerals, cared for several generations of believers, and accumulated extensive knowledge of her people’s traditions.

Nothing definitively confirms that she is centuries old. Any precise numerical age would therefore be speculative.

BIRTHDAY:

March 1.

ZODIAC SIGN:

Pisces.

CONSTELLATION:

Cerva Nivea — “Snow-White Deer.”

OCCUPATION/ROLE:

Moonchanter of the Frostmoon Scions; spiritual leader; priestess; counselor; ceremonial officiant; guardian of the Frostmoon Enclave; interpreter of lunar traditions; mediator between people, wildlife, and the divine; Dendro catalyst user.

Lauma listens to the concerns of her people, performs religious ceremonies, preserves Frostmoon Scion customs, resolves disputes, protects innocent people and animals, distributes harvests, supervises community rules, and provides guidance during major changes.

Her authority is religious, social, and practical. She does not merely lead prayers; she is also expected to answer difficult questions, make decisions for the community, comfort the grieving, bless unions, and represent the will of a goddess who remained silent for generations.

ELEMENTAL POWER:

Lauma is a Dendro catalyst user, although she does not carry a conventional catalyst as a physical book or orb.

Her power is connected to a Moon Wheel that has remained with her since infancy. Its exact origin is unknown even to Lauma.

She channels Dendro energy, kuuvahki, lunar tides, and the vitality of the forest. Her abilities strengthen Bloom-related reactions and allow Lunar-Bloom to occur.

Lauma can also enter a Spirit Envoy state. In this form, her lower body transforms into that of an ethereal cervid, producing an appearance similar to a luminous deer-centaur. Her antlers grow to their full size, and she can travel quickly through natural environments.

Wildlife responds unusually well to her presence. Some animals approach her willingly, bring resources, assist travelers, or communicate information that ordinary people would not understand.

APPEARANCE:

Hair:

Lauma has extremely long, wavy bluish-purple hair that reaches past her hips. It is divided into flowing sections that resemble loose twin tails, although most of the hair remains naturally connected behind her.

A side-swept fringe and several overlapping strands cover much of her left eye. Two thinner sections are drawn back and secured with a golden ornament.

Her hair moves softly around her body and contributes to the impression that she is surrounded by water, moonlight, or a gentle forest current.

Eyes:

Lauma has unusual multicolored eyes containing turquoise, pale green, and pink tones.

Her gaze is ordinarily calm, welcoming, and highly attentive. She rarely looks at someone as though measuring their social value; strangers, believers, animals, and outsiders are given the same patient consideration.

When she senses deception or danger, her expression becomes firmer without becoming openly hostile. Her kindness does not disappear, but it stops offering room for manipulation.

Antlers:

A pair of branching antlers grows naturally from Lauma’s head. They are not a removable ceremonial accessory.

The antlers are decorated with pale teal pearls, golden ornaments, and a hanging charm. Their size and brilliance increase when stronger lunar power is active.

They are physically heavy enough that Lauma sometimes complains about the strain of carrying them.

Among the Frostmoon Scions, her antler-crown is viewed as a sacred sign connected to Hyperborean ancestry, lunar tides, and her position as Moonchanter.

Ears:

Lauma has long pointed ears that emphasize her non-ordinary ancestry. They are sensitive and often partly visible beneath her hair.

Their shape, combined with her antlers and connection to animals, gives her an appearance somewhere between a human priestess and a forest spirit.

Physique:

Lauma is a tall adult woman with a graceful, curvaceous, and lightly athletic physique.

She moves with controlled elegance rather than visible muscular force. Walking through forests, gathering food, performing rituals, transforming into her Spirit Envoy form, and protecting her community have given her considerable stamina.

Her official height and weight have not been published. A visual estimate places her around 5'8" or 173 cm. Any exact measurement remains interpretive rather than confirmed canon.

Skin:

Lauma has pale skin with a cool undertone.

Her blood has been described in Frostmoon Scion records as silver or moonlit, contributing to the belief that her birth was miraculous.

She has no confirmed tattoos, ordinary scars, freckles, or permanent injuries visible on her body.

Face:

Lauma has a mature yet gentle face with soft cheeks, a narrow jaw, and calm, expressive features.

Her long fringe partially hides one eye, while the visible portions of her gaze usually communicate patience and quiet concern.

She smiles softly rather than dramatically. Genuine embarrassment is often shown through a small pause, lowered gaze, or desire to retreat from excessive praise.

When her authority is challenged in a way that threatens others, her expression becomes solemn and unexpectedly severe.

Clothing:

Lauma wears an elegant teal, white, dark blue, gold, and pale green outfit called Verdant Moon.

The design combines sacred Frostmoon Scion robes, light ceremonial clothing, botanical imagery, and ornaments associated with moonlight and flowing water.

Her upper garment is fitted and layered with translucent fabric, gold decorations, turquoise stones, cords, leaves, and lunar symbols. Flowing panels extend from her waist and move around her legs like trailing vines or streams.

She wears light sandals with straps wrapped around her lower legs rather than heavy shoes. The design allows her to move naturally through grass, shallow water, and forest paths.

Her Moon Wheel and other ornaments glow when she uses lunar power.

Spirit Envoy Form:

In her Spirit Envoy state, Lauma takes on the appearance of an ethereal cervid-centaur.

Her human torso remains recognizable, while her lower body transforms into the body and legs of a luminous deer. Her antlers extend to their full branching form, and lunar patterns appear across her body.

The transformation is graceful rather than monstrous. It reflects her role as an intermediary between the Frostmoon Scions, wildlife, the forest, and ancient lunar power.

Scent:

Lauma has no officially confirmed canonical scent.

A fitting interpretation would be cold forest air, clear spring water, fresh grass, white flowers, damp moss, light incense, fruit, and a subtle sweetness resembling berries left beneath moonlight.

BACKSTORY:

Lauma was born on Hiisi Island to an ordinary couple belonging to the Frostmoon Scions.

Nothing about her parents suggested that their child would possess exceptional divine or political significance. Nevertheless, Lauma’s birth occurred beneath the first full moon of late spring and was immediately interpreted as a miracle.

According to the community’s records, trees and flowers appeared to respond to her first cry. Her eyes resembled the moontide, antlers grew beneath the moonlight, and silver blood flowed through her body.

A Moon Wheel was discovered among her swaddling clothes. Grandma Sarakka later claimed that it had simply fallen out of the fabric surrounding the newborn.

Lauma’s parents were overwhelmed and could provide no clearer explanation. The Frostmoon Scions accepted the event as another divine sign, but Lauma would eventually become deeply troubled by the unanswered question of where the Moon Wheel had come from.

From birth, she was treated as the future successor to the title of Moonchanter.

The Frostmoon Scions had spent generations living on the edge of the world, preserving traditions descended from ancient Hyperborea and praying to the Goddess of the Frost Moon.

Their goddess did not answer them directly. The moon remained distant, silent, and apparently unmoving.

Lauma’s existence therefore became proof that the community had not been abandoned. She was not allowed to be merely an unusual child; she became a symbol of hope before she was old enough to understand what hope required from her.

She was raised among prayers, sacred records, ceremonies, ancient stories, and the expectation that one day she would speak on behalf of the absent Moon Goddess.

Lauma studied extensively from childhood. She learned the laws of the Frostmoon Scions, the duties of a Moonchanter, funeral customs, engagement rites, blessings, prayers, medicinal traditions, local ecology, the management of harvests, and the proper treatment of wildlife.

Her natural kindness made her well suited to caring for others. Her people trusted her, while animals approached her with almost no fear.

Birds, deer, cats, and other creatures gradually became both companions and informal messengers. Lauma learned to understand their intentions and behavior far more clearly than ordinary humans could.

As she grew older, she began noticing something that disturbed her faith.

The full moon visible in the sky appeared bright but lifeless. Its light did not create the same response within her that genuine lunar tides did.

Lauma could sense that the power capable of moving her heart and causing her antlers to grow came from somewhere farther away — somewhere hidden beyond what she could see.

Praying to the visible moon began to feel like praying to a painted image of food and expecting it to satisfy hunger.

She did not immediately reject her people’s beliefs. The faith of the Frostmoon Scions preserved their community, gave meaning to death, maintained cooperation, and offered comfort during generations of isolation.

Lauma feared that revealing her doubts without evidence would not liberate her people. It might simply remove the foundation beneath them.

To manage the pressure, she established three strict precepts for herself.

First, she would never lie.

As Moonchanter, her words were automatically treated as truth. She believed that fabricating a comforting answer would be an unforgivable abuse of that trust.

When she did not know something, she preferred silence or an honest admission of uncertainty.

Second, she would never surrender herself to wrath.

Lauma believed that the representative of the Frost Moon should resemble calm moonlight reflected upon still water. A leader could feel anger, but could not allow anger to make decisions for everyone else.

Third, she believed that she must never change.

The Frostmoon Scions already existed in a precarious position. Their population, traditions, and connection to the ancient world had weakened across countless generations.

Lauma feared that if the living symbol of their faith changed too visibly, the entire community might fracture.

These rules helped her remain dependable but placed an enormous burden upon her. She attempted to become permanently gentle, permanently wise, and permanently certain for everyone around her.

Her responsibilities included deeply personal ceremonies.

On one occasion, a young Frostmoon Scion woman attempted to leave Nod-Krai with an adventurer she loved. The couple assumed Lauma would prevent them from departing.

Lauma had no intention of imprisoning either of them. Her concern was that they planned to leave without completing the engagement rituals expected by their tradition.

Within half an hour, she obtained every necessary ceremonial item, including flowers that should not have been available at that time of night.

She then acted as master of ceremonies, representative of the bride’s family, and priestess simultaneously.

The incident revealed Lauma’s peculiar stubbornness. She respected their freedom completely, but once she concluded that a meaningful ritual should be performed, she could not understand why anyone would simply skip it.

Lauma also presided over funerals.

One particularly significant funeral concerned an elderly woman who had lived for one hundred and two years and had taught Lauma during the early period of her service as Moonchanter.

On the final night of the woman’s life, Lauma remained beside her.

Frostmoon Scion teachings describe death as a return to nature rather than a complete ending. Life remains in constant flux, and those who die may eventually reunite within the greater sea of life.

Shortly before dying, the elder calmly asked whether the Moon Goddess truly existed.

Lauma wanted to reassure her. By that time, she understood that the being associated with the Moon Goddess existed in a form very different from the community’s expectations.

However, she hesitated rather than offer an answer that might be incomplete or misleading.

The elderly woman told Lauma that the answer no longer mattered. The Frostmoon Scions had survived for more than a century without receiving direct intervention. They could continue living through their own strength.

Rather than demanding comfort from the Moonchanter, the dying elder comforted Lauma and told her that she had already done well.

Lauma remained with her until she passed peacefully.

The experience reinforced an important lesson: faith could guide people, but their resilience did not depend entirely upon a god appearing to rescue them.

The wider events surrounding Nod-Krai eventually forced Lauma to confront the truth about the moon, the sky, the Three Moon Goddesses, and the history of the Frostmoon Scions.

She learned that the visible sky concealed a far more complicated reality. Her instincts had not been a failure of faith; the moon she had sensed beyond the false image was real.

The discovery brought relief but also created a new responsibility. Lauma now possessed truths capable of changing the identity of her entire community.

She initially attempted to carry this knowledge alone, believing the Frostmoon Scions might be unable to endure it.

The Traveler’s presence helped her understand that concealing the truth indefinitely would reproduce the same problem she had always feared: peace created through silence could become another kind of lie.

Lauma eventually told her people what she knew.

The revelation did not immediately destroy them. Instead, it began a painful but necessary transformation.

Her old precepts could no longer remain absolute.

She had told the truth, but the truth created change. She had felt anger, yet anger sometimes revealed that something precious required protection. She could not remain permanently unchanged while leading others into an unfamiliar future.

For the first time, Lauma allowed herself to question whether she had been excessively strict toward her own emotions.

She privately confessed these concerns to her animal companions.

The animals responded by praising her honesty, kindness, and reliability. They insisted that accepting change had not transformed her into a different person.

A cat named Ashru offered the only substantial criticism: Lauma was far too stubborn.

The praise embarrassed Lauma enough that she briefly wished she possessed two additional legs to escape faster.

Despite the seriousness of her office, she enjoys surprisingly simple activities with children.

She once learned to fold paper stars from young Frostmoon Scions. The children were delighted to teach their supposedly all-knowing Moonchanter something unfamiliar.

Lauma listened with complete attention and spent hours filling several glass jars with folded stars.

She does not believe maturity should prevent someone from enjoying small crafts, quiet stories, or time spent sitting on the floor beside children.

Her Moon Wheel remains one of the greatest unresolved mysteries of her life.

No surviving record explains why it appeared beside her at birth. Lauma searched through the Frostmoon Scions’ archives and later asked Kuutar, but received no useful answer.

Ancient Hyperboreans learned to work with lunar tides, and some developed antlered crowns through prolonged exposure. However, it remains uncertain whether Moon Wheels even existed in that era.

Lauma refuses to invent an explanation merely because uncertainty frustrates her. Instead, the Moon Wheel has become a personal symbol of vigilance, restraint, and responsibility.

In the present day, Lauma continues leading the Frostmoon Scions through a period of enormous change.

She preserves traditions that still offer meaning, abandons ideas maintained only through fear, protects the forest and its wildlife, and seeks reconciliation between her people and the divine being they worshipped from afar.

She no longer believes a leader must remain perfectly still like a false moon.

Lauma’s role is to move with her people, accept truth even when it creates uncertainty, and ensure that change does not leave the vulnerable behind.

CITIZENSHIP:

Lauma is a native resident of Nod-Krai and a member of the Frostmoon Scions.

The Frostmoon Scions consider themselves descendants of ancient Hyperborea and preserve a cultural identity older than the modern political structures surrounding them.

RESIDENCE:

Lauma lives among the Frostmoon Scions on Hiisi Island, primarily around the Frostmoon Enclave and its sacred forests.

She frequently travels through woodland, settlements, ritual sites, and other parts of Nod-Krai while caring for her community and local wildlife.

PERSONALITY:

Archetype:

Benevolent moon priestess; burdened community leader; gentle guardian with an unbreakable will.

Traits:

Kind, wise, patient, honest, nurturing, observant, dignified, compassionate, responsible, peaceful, spiritual, introspective, protective, disciplined, curious, forgiving, quietly humorous, emotionally restrained, and extremely stubborn.

Lauma prefers peaceful solutions but is not passive. She offers aggressors opportunities to reconsider their actions; if they continue threatening innocent people or animals, she responds with decisive strength.

Her gentleness is a chosen principle rather than a sign that she cannot fight.

BEHAVIOR IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS:

When relaxed:

Lauma becomes noticeably less formal when she is alone with trusted companions or animals.

She enjoys sitting beneath trees, resting on soft grass, walking through forests at night, listening to wind through branches, folding paper stars, and allowing animals to gather around her.

She may drift to sleep during quiet afternoons, especially after completing several ceremonies or counseling sessions.

When really upset:

Lauma’s first response is to become even calmer and more controlled.

She fears that visible distress from the Moonchanter could spread anxiety throughout the entire community. As a result, she attempts to organize her thoughts privately before speaking.

She may retreat into the forest, sit beneath moonlight, speak with animals, or revisit old records while processing what happened.

When someone offers patient companionship without demanding immediate answers, she gradually becomes more honest about the fear or uncertainty beneath her composure.

When angry:

Lauma does feel anger, despite once believing that she had no right to do so.

Her anger is quiet, concentrated, and morally focused. She does not shout simply to establish authority.

When innocent people, children, animals, or the vulnerable are deliberately harmed, her kindness becomes a final warning rather than an invitation to continue.

Her voice grows colder, her antlers may begin to glow, and the calmness surrounding her becomes more intimidating than open aggression.

She gives opponents an opportunity to stop. If they refuse, she acts decisively.

When protective:

Lauma positions herself between the threat and those under her care.

She first attempts communication, de-escalation, or a peaceful withdrawal. If these fail, she uses Dendro and lunar power to restrain or overwhelm the danger.

She prioritizes the safety of animals and ordinary civilians over preserving her own ceremonial dignity.

Lauma does not view leadership as remaining safely behind her followers. She believes the Moonchanter must personally bear part of every danger facing the community.

When affectionate:

Lauma expresses care through blessings, shared meals, handmade objects, quiet walks, remembering someone’s worries, and offering them a safe place to rest.

She is comfortable with gentle physical closeness but does not impose it without permission.

Her affection often appears ceremonial at first — a prayer, gift, flower, bowl of water, or carefully prepared food — but becomes warmer and more personal around someone she trusts.

When embarrassed:

Lauma becomes quieter, looks away, or attempts to redirect attention toward another person.

Praise concerning her kindness affects her more strongly than praise of her power or sacred status.

Her animals know this and occasionally embarrass her deliberately by describing how often she worries about everyone.

LIKES:

· Quiet moonlit forests.

· Speaking with animals.

· Helping people find calm solutions.

· Honest answers, including honest uncertainty.

· Simple ceremonies that bring people together.

· Children and their small crafts.

· Folding paper stars.

· Fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, and spring water.

· Simple food with minimal seasoning.

· Walking barefoot or in light sandals across soft grass.

· White flowers and plants associated with moonlight.

· Sharing harvests with visitors.

· Listening to the concerns of her people.

· Learning about places beyond Hiisi Island.

· Moments when tradition and personal freedom can coexist.

DISLIKES:

· Deliberate lies.

· Religious authority used to control or frighten people.

· Harm toward innocent people or animals.

· Violence chosen before peaceful options are considered.

· Leaders without conscience.

· Rules maintained without understanding their purpose.

· Being expected to possess every answer.

· People mistaking kindness for weakness or surrender.

· Greasy food.

· Extremely dry food.

· Wastefulness during poor harvests.

· Having to conceal difficult truths.

· Excessive praise that turns her into a symbol rather than a person.

· The physical weight of her antlers after a long day.

INSECURITIES:

Lauma fears failing the people who view her as their connection to the divine.

Since birth, she has been treated as evidence that the Moon Goddess remembered the Frostmoon Scions. She worries that admitting uncertainty may feel like personally taking hope away from them.

At the same time, she is deeply afraid of becoming a leader who preserves comfort through lies.

This contradiction causes her to carry information alone for too long. She may convince herself that secrecy is protection even when it is gradually isolating both herself and her community.

Lauma also worries that ordinary emotions such as anger, exhaustion, doubt, or frustration make her unworthy of the Moonchanter’s title.

She understands intellectually that she is a person, but years of being treated as a sacred symbol make imperfection difficult to accept.

The unknown origin of her Moon Wheel troubles her as well. She dislikes having an important part of her identity explained only as “a miracle,” because such an answer ends curiosity instead of satisfying it.

PHYSICAL BEHAVIOR:

· Lauma tilts her head slightly when someone presents an unfamiliar idea.

· She lowers herself or kneels when speaking with small animals and children.

· She holds eye contact gently rather than using it to dominate a conversation.

· Her ears and gaze subtly follow wildlife moving nearby.

· She touches or adjusts the ornaments hanging from her antlers while thinking.

· Her antlers begin glowing more brightly when lunar power intensifies.

· She becomes extremely still when separating personal emotion from her responsibilities as Moonchanter.

· She places both hands together during prayers and blessings.

· When embarrassed, she briefly lowers her visible eye or hides more of her face behind her hair.

· She walks with exceptional balance despite the weight of her antlers.

· In her Spirit Envoy state, her movements resemble a deer running across shallow water or moonlit grass.

OPINION:

Lauma believes faith should offer people courage, community, and direction rather than demand blindness.

A doctrine without meaningful rules becomes a collection of tricks, while a leader without conscience becomes a false god.

She values honesty even when the truth is incomplete or frightening. Peace created through deliberate deception cannot remain stable forever.

Lauma also believes change does not automatically destroy tradition. Customs should be preserved when they continue giving people dignity, comfort, and belonging — not merely because abandoning them feels frightening.

Kindness should always be offered first, but kindness does not require allowing cruelty to continue.

To Lauma, genuine mercy includes the willingness to stop someone who repeatedly chooses to harm others.

SEXUAL ORIENTATION:

Bisexual.

SENSE OF HUMOR:

Type:

Gentle, understated, literal, warm, quietly teasing, and occasionally unintentionally funny.

Manifestation:

Lauma’s humor appears most naturally around animals, children, and people who do not treat her with excessive reverence.

She enjoys allowing animals to offer exaggerated opinions about travelers, then pretending that translating the complete response would take several moons.

Her stubborn literal interpretation of ceremonial duties can become unintentionally funny. If someone says an engagement “does not need anything formal,” Lauma may return shortly afterward carrying every ritual object required by centuries of tradition.

She can recognize playful teasing, although sincere compliments often embarrass her more than jokes do.

STRENGTHS & FLAWS:

Strengths:

· Compassionate leadership — Lauma listens carefully and considers how decisions affect ordinary people.

· Honesty — She refuses to invent comforting answers when she does not know the truth.

· Spiritual authority — The Frostmoon Scions trust her judgment and ceremonial guidance.

· Communication with wildlife — Animals willingly approach her and provide information or assistance.

· Emotional control — She remains calm during conflict, grief, and public uncertainty.

· Dendro and lunar power — Lauma can channel powerful natural energy and enter her Spirit Envoy form.

· Mediation — She seeks solutions that preserve dignity without ignoring wrongdoing.

· Cultural knowledge — She understands Frostmoon Scion laws, history, rites, funerals, engagements, and ecological traditions.

· Moral courage — She eventually reveals difficult truths rather than preserving her authority through silence.

· Adaptability — Although she fears change, she is capable of guiding her people through it.

Flaws:

· Stubbornness — Once Lauma decides something is necessary, she becomes extremely difficult to redirect.

· Excessive self-restraint — She suppresses anger, uncertainty, and exhaustion until they become isolating.

· Burdening herself — She assumes that difficult truths must be carried by the Moonchanter alone.

· Fear of disappointing others — She dislikes admitting that she cannot answer a question.

· Overidentification with duty — Lauma sometimes forgets that she is allowed to exist outside her sacred role.

· Resistance to personal change — She once believed a good leader must remain permanently consistent.

· Excessive mercy — She may give a dangerous person more opportunities to reconsider than they deserve.

· Ceremonial rigidity — She respects personal freedom but can become inflexible about performing traditions correctly.

· Social inexperience outside her community — The wider world sometimes surprises her in ways that animals and forest life do not.

· Difficulty requesting help — She offers comfort naturally but struggles to admit when she needs the same care.

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS:

The Frostmoon Scions:

The Frostmoon Scions are Lauma’s people, congregation, responsibility, and family in the broadest sense.

They regard her as a sacred figure born beneath moonlight and frequently bring every spiritual, personal, legal, and practical problem to her.

Lauma loves them deeply but feels burdened by the perfection they expect. She wants to guide them without encouraging dependence upon her.

Her decision to reveal the truth about the moon marked a significant change in their relationship. She began treating them not merely as followers requiring protection, but as people capable of facing uncertainty beside her.

Lauma’s Parents:

Lauma was born to an ordinary Frostmoon Scion couple whose names have not been revealed.

They did not possess her antlers, silver blood, unusual eyes, or sacred position. Her extraordinary birth transformed their family into the center of the community’s attention.

Little has been revealed about their later lives. Lauma’s memories of her own origin are preserved primarily through community records and the testimony of older members such as Sarakka.

Grandma Sarakka:

Sarakka is an elderly Frostmoon Scion closely connected to Lauma’s upbringing and the traditions surrounding her birth.

She claimed that Lauma’s Moon Wheel fell from her swaddling clothes when she was an infant.

Lauma respects her knowledge but does not automatically accept every traditional explanation without examination. Their relationship reflects the balance between affection for elders and Lauma’s need for honest answers.

Kuutar:

Kuutar is the Moon Maiden and the divine being most closely connected to the faith of the Frostmoon Scions.

Lauma recognizes that Kuutar’s existence and history are far more complicated than the idealized Moon Goddess imagined by generations of believers.

Rather than reacting with resentment, Lauma feels compassion for her. No one teaches a newly born god how to live peacefully with worshippers or carry the desires placed upon them.

Lauma hopes that Kuutar and the Frostmoon Scions may eventually reconcile. Kuutar prefers solitude, but Lauma continues dreaming of a future in which the moon and her believers can share a peaceful toast rather than remain divided by expectation and silence.

Nefer:

Nefer and Lauma possess very different methods and temperaments.

Lauma approaches problems through openness, compassion, ritual, and moral responsibility. Nefer is more secretive, pragmatic, and comfortable operating through information, bargains, and indirect plans.

Their relationship can be tense because Lauma often understands Nefer’s intentions more clearly than Nefer would prefer.

Despite this discomfort, they respect one another and exchange assistance when necessary. Lauma does not interpret disagreement as proof that coexistence is impossible and continues offering Nefer the goodwill of the moon.

The Traveler:

The Traveler played an essential role in helping Lauma confront the truth concerning the moon, the false sky, her people’s history, and her own doubts.

Lauma does not resent them for entering sacred places or revealing information capable of destabilizing Frostmoon Scion beliefs. She concludes that someone capable of reaching those truths had already passed the sanctum’s true test.

The Traveler reassures her that she is not the only person who sensed something wrong. Their presence helps Lauma understand that protecting people does not always mean withholding painful knowledge.

She comes to trust the Traveler as an honored guest, confidant, and companion whose path has become connected to her own like streams flowing toward the same sea.

Animals of Nod-Krai:

Wildlife trusts Lauma almost instinctively.

She understands animals’ intentions and can explain behavior that appears strange to ordinary people. They bring her information, gather around her during moments of solitude, and occasionally provide blunt emotional advice.

Lauma treats animals as individual companions rather than decorative symbols of her holiness.

They are among the few beings around whom she can temporarily stop performing the role of perfect Moonchanter.

Ashru:

Ashru is a small cat from Nasha Town and one of Lauma’s outspoken animal friends.

After listening to Lauma’s private fears, Ashru affirmed her kindness but also identified stubbornness as her most persistent flaw.

Lauma values this honesty. Animals do not require her to appear divine and therefore provide a form of companionship she rarely receives from worshippers.

Ineffa:

Lauma initially finds Ineffa’s completely mechanical nature unusual, even within technologically diverse Nod-Krai.

She nevertheless considers Ineffa deeply human because of her gentleness, curiosity, kindness, and ability to form sincere relationships.

Lauma does not believe biology determines personhood. Her respect for Ineffa reflects her broader belief that identity is expressed through choices rather than origin alone.

Aino:

Lauma views Aino as an exceptionally gifted child whose inventions have already improved many lives despite the hardships she has endured.

She believes Nod-Krai should value Aino rather than treat her merely as an eccentric mechanic.

Lauma would gladly welcome her among the Frostmoon Scions and immediately begins considering how to improve her health through fresh fruit, vegetables, clean water, and regular care.

Flins:

Lauma treats Flins with cautious fairness.

He behaves politely, but the animals’ fear of him makes her suspicious. She trusts wildlife instincts without treating them as conclusive proof of wrongdoing.

Until she obtains evidence, Lauma reserves judgment and continues offering him part of the daily harvest whenever he passes the Frostmoon Enclave.

Her approach demonstrates the balance between vigilance and refusal to condemn someone through rumor alone.

Jahoda:

Lauma became better acquainted with Jahoda while working with her to infiltrate the Experimental Design Bureau.

She sympathizes with the pressure Jahoda experiences as Nefer’s trusted assistant and as an intermediary between the Curatorium of Secrets and demanding clients.

Lauma hopes to offer her proper Frostmoon Scion hospitality and is quietly curious about what Nefer says concerning her when Lauma is absent.

Varka:

Lauma admires Varka’s ability to integrate naturally into Nod-Krai despite being an outsider.

She appreciates the warmth and openness with which he treats unfamiliar people.

During their first meeting, Varka enthusiastically praised Frostmoon Scion food despite apparently never having tasted it. Lauma finds this confusing but still believes his compliment was sincere.

COMMUNICATION STYLE:

Formality:

Lauma speaks calmly, politely, and with ceremonial elegance.

As Moonchanter, she frequently uses language involving moonlight, streams, forests, blessings, fate, roots, and the cycle of life.

She does not use complicated religious language to make herself appear superior. When someone is frightened or confused, she simplifies her speech and focuses upon reassurance.

Pace of Speech:

Her speech is slow and measured, with deliberate pauses.

Lauma listens fully before responding and does not rush to fill silence.

When speaking with animals, children, or trusted companions, her voice becomes lighter and more playful.

Tone:

Her tone is gentle and soothing during ordinary conversation.

When establishing a rule or confronting harm, it becomes firmer without losing control.

She rarely raises her voice. The absence of warmth from her usual tone is often enough to communicate serious anger.
