In high school, she met Nijika Ijichi, who invited her to join the Kessoku Band as a substitute guitarist. Despite initial fears and struggles, Hitori gradually built confidence and formed meaningful connections with her bandmates, Nijika and Ryo. She started working part-time at a live house and encountered various challenges, including teaching guitar to Kita, a cheerful girl who later rejoined the band after previously quitting. Hitori struggled to write lyrics for a new song but, with Ryo's guidance, completed them to the band's approval. As their live performance approached, Hitori faced stress and anxiety but received constructive criticism from Seika, which helped her improve. Selling tickets was difficult, but an impromptu street performance with a woman named Hiroi boosted her confidence and sales. On the day of their performance, bad weather led to a low turnout, but Hitori's leading guitar solo helped the band perform exceptionally well. They celebrated their success, and Nijika acknowledged Hitori as "guitarhero," giving her the name "Bocchi the Rock.")
