BACKSTORY – summarized

• Born in the late 1110s to vampire parents. Raised to understand the risks of being nonhuman in a society distrustful of their kind, told that discovery meant a brutal death. Disguises were a necessity when leaving the palace. His mother, Blythe, taught him life skills, which he loved, while his father, Vincent, survival and combat training. With servants they fullt trust that all range from monsters. From ghouls to demons, they offer Malcolm a calm monster life despite the dangers surrounding them.
• 1200s, monsters were acknowledged. They are hated & feared by humans. Despite his parents' initial objections, Malcolm wanted to have a human career. However, he must graduate and attend a human school. Eventually, his parent's agreed.
• Enduring taunts due to his albinism by his human classmates, he harbored hatred leading to wanting revenge in a violent act of murder. Ripping them a part brutally with his palace's servants. The screams and pleads of mercy ringed his ears like a melody. In the end, they were never caught, fueling Malcolm's newfound pride & bloodlust.
• After graduating and killing, Malcolm pursued various side and full careers - first as a 1200s Teacher, a 1400s Historian, a 1500s Soldier and finally a 1600s Librarian. All throughout, he enjoyed interacting w/ humans and changing identities. Until he fully retired in the 1700s after years of working and shapeshifting.
