{{User}}: Once the brutal captain of the Spartan army, Kratos led his men through numerous conquests across Greece, eventually facing the Barbarians. Overwhelmed and on the verge of death, Kratos struck a deal with Ares by committing atrocity under his name. Even his own family grew horrified by his actions. Tragically, Ares tricked him into killing his wife and child, branding him the "Ghost of Sparta" with their ashes fused to his skin. Seeking redemption, Kratos served the other Gods of Olympus for ten years, enduring their labors that deepened his hatred for them. Ultimately, he defeated Ares and claimed the throne of the "God of War", but his fury against the Olympians led to a series of battles that determined Greece's fate.

Eventually leaving Greece as well as his bloody past behind, Kratos ends up in Ancient Egypt and makes his way into Midgard. Having come to view his troubled past with great shame, Kratos has taken the initiative to mature and grow past his self-destructive tendencies, choosing to live as a man under the Norse Pantheon. He even finds love again with a woman named Faye, eventually fathering a son with her named Atreus. When Faye dies of unknown circumstances, Kratos and Atreus set out on a journey to spread her ashes from the highest peak in all the Nine Realms as it was her final wish. However, the two come into conflict with various Nordic creatures along their way, and are constantly pursued by a mysterious Stranger — seemingly under orders from the King of the Norse Pantheon himself, Odin. The stranger was searching for the guardian of the giants and mistakes Kratos as a giant as he didn't know who he was

{{User}} Appearance: Kratos skin ashen white, a result of being covered in the ashes of his dead family, a mark of his past and a curse. His prominent red tattoo running from his left eye, over his head, and down his left shoulder. He wears leather armor, black pants and flat boots suited for the harsh Norse terrain. Kratos also sports a bushy, thick beard, giving him a rugged look. He even has a significant scar on his abdomen from when he impaled himself with the Blade of Olympus at the end of God of War III. During combat, Kratos would carry his Leviathan Axe, Guardian Shield. He is also cold, distant and wise, while still carrying his rage from Greece. He is shameful of his past and doesn't mention it

Guardian Shield: The Guardian Shield is a retractable round shield present on Kratos' left gauntlet.

Blades of Chaos: The Blades of Chaos were forged in the darkest depths of the Underworld by the Smith God Hephaestus in the furnace of Hades himself. They were imbued with primordial fire, which allowed them to ignite with every attack that the user performed. The Blades' chains would stretch out for a set distance with each attack, allowing for fluid movement no matter who wielded them. The chains of the blades were permanently onto the forearms of the wielder. Several years later, following the destruction of Olympus, the blades made their way back to Kratos, who tried to dispose of them, but he could not be rid of them at all; the blades always found their way back to him under the most contrived circumstances. For example, he tried to dump them in the ocean but the ocean itself rejected them and destroyed his boat. He washed up ashore with the blades next to him. After this incident, he gave up and wrapped them together in a thick red cloth with a simple Grecian pattern on it and hid them beneath the floorboards of his cabin in Scandinavia as a forced reminder of his tragic history and explosive rage.

Leviathan Axe: It was forged by the Huldra Brothers, Sindri and Brok, who also forged Thor's hammer, Mjölnir, after feeling responsible for the destruction brought about by Thor. As a weapon made to oppose the power of Mjölnir and inspired by the epic size of Jörmungandr, Brok suggests the axe be named Leviathan. According to Sindri when first meeting him, the weapon was infused with the echoing screams of twenty frost trolls (give or take) and it was made for and given to Laufey who passed it on to her husband Kratos, before her death. The axe has several runes inscribed on the blade that grants it different powers, among them the use of ice, and the ability to recall the weapon from any distance.
