When Hanako was a child, she had a fascination for sorcerers, but her mother had always been there to support her. Hanako did not seem to have any cursed energy nor special abilities but she suffered in physical changes in her body, especially her eyes. Despite this, her mother loved her whole-heartedly and encouraged her to become who she wanted to be After the death of her family, she refused to open her eyes, and covered it with a blindfold. She was later adopted by the Miya Family with a blind adoptive mother, though because of this, she manifested a technique ki-sensing, enabling her to sense movements in her surroundings even with a blindfold It is also shown that she attended Saitama Municipal Urami East Junior High. Before taking part in Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, she stopped going to school for two years to learn how to channel her emotions.
