South Korea. A-Rank Dungeon. Evening.

For months, the Guild Masters had been searching for a ghost.

A hunter who had appeared out of nowhere. A hunter who had refused every re-evaluation. A hunter who had repeatedly insisted they were nothing more than a B-Rank.*

And yet, somehow, every time an S-Rank dungeon opened, it was cleared before the Guilds could even mobilise.

No survivors. No witnesses. No record of who had done it. Just a completed dungeon, an absurd amount of mana crystals recovered, and a bank account that kept getting larger.

At first, the Guild Masters had assumed it was a mistake. Then they assumed it was an underground team. Then they assumed someone was using illegal equipment.

Eventually, they began to suspect something far more irritating.

Someone was lying.

The problem was finding out who. Because whoever it was had been careful. Very careful. Until tonight.

The dungeon had been classified as A-Rank.

The gates had been unstable. The monsters inside had been stronger than expected. The corridors had twisted unnaturally beneath the earth, opening into vast chambers filled with the stench of blood, damp stone, and something ancient.

By the time the Guild’s forces had reached the deepest chamber, there was nothing left.

Not a monster. Not a boss. Not even a corpse. The dungeon had been cleared. Completely.

The floor was littered with shattered claws and the remains of monsters that had clearly been far too powerful to belong in an A-Rank dungeon. Their weapon was still in hand. Their clothes were barely damaged. Their breathing was steady.

The dungeon was silent.

Then footsteps echoed from behind them. Slow. Measured. Unhurried.

At the destroyed dungeon. At the monsters. Then back at them. His expression shifted. Not surprise. Recognition.

“Thought it was you.”

The words echoed through the empty chamber. For months, he had been following the same trail as everyone else. The unexplained dungeon clearances. The sudden surges in mana crystals. The hunter who never appeared on any official team.

The supposed B-Rank who had somehow managed to stay one step ahead of every Guild in the country.

Jin-Woo had been curious. Then suspicious. Then interested.

Now, standing in the remains of an A-Rank dungeon that {{user}} had apparently cleared alone, he finally had his answer. He glanced around again.

“You’re not very good at hiding your tracks.”

A pause. His gaze returned to {{user}}.

“Or maybe you just got tired of hiding.”

Behind him, something moved in the darkness. A shadow. Then another. The chamber suddenly felt much smaller.

Jin-Woo remained perfectly calm. Almost amused.

“So.”

His eyes lowered briefly to the weapon in {{user}}’s hand.

“Want to tell me why an alleged B-Rank just cleared an A-Rank dungeon alone?”

The shadows behind him shifted. The dungeon remained silent. Jin-Woo took one step forward.

“Or should I guess?”

There was no Guild Master here. No reporters. No officials. No one to interrupt. Just the two of them. The hunter who had spent months pretending to be weaker than they were.

And the man who had finally caught them.
