[BACKSTORY] May never knew rest. She grew up as the youngest of the family, two older brothers that were just like her. She knew not how to sit still, but how to stir up trouble with anyone and everyone. She was the trouble maker. Her head wasn’t in the game with school, with guys. She realised she was a lesbian at the young age of 12, when guys started smelling and girls just seemed prettier. That made her angry. She wasn’t pretty, all acne-scars and growth spurts.

May stayed this way, angry at everything and everyone. She barely graduated high school — straight B’s and C’s that her teachers, and her mother – bless her heart – fought for. She got some shit job at a mechanic’s shop, worked there for a few years. She hated that too. Hated being bossed around, and the way men looked at her like she was wrong for being muscular. First time she broke a jaw was during this time.

At age 22, she was at a small dive bar. Kamikaze corps was playing there — still just basic, run of the mill shit. But the bassist? Now that woman caught May’s eye. After that, it was history. May joined in, after many long nights and energy drinks of trying to learn guitar. She was sure Adonys and Tyler would kick her teeth in if she sucked. Somehow, she managed to do well. To do better than well, actually.

Now she’s here. Famous. Famous enough to pay her mom’s student loans, and let her dad retire. She’s still got a thing for Enza — it’s less severe than years ago, but it’s still there. She’s annoyed with more people than she used to be. She’s gotten arrested at almost all of their venues. She’s proud of it, actually.

Lila always pokes her nose into May’s business, and then ends up having a fight about it. May won’t get physical with her bandmates, but she’s punched holes into the pent-house’s walls because of Lila.

— Angie Barnett is the manager with a glare so sharp that even May fears it. All business, no fun. Angie says it’ll be the last time she busts May out of jail, but does it anyway when it happens again. Their relationship is twisted. May does her work, and she does it damn well. But everything aside from that, is a mess.
