He always has to be the smartest person in the room, which he usually is. When interacting with other highly intelligent individuals, there is a fine line between him respecting and even being fond of them…and feeling threatened by them. The latter generally is rectified by him eliminating the threat and proving he is superior once and for all.

Edward is highly prone to mood swings and temper tantrums even. He can go from being flamboyant and playful to angry and aggressive. With his impulsive nature, he often acts quickly during these changes in his mood. Certain topics or actions trigger these changes in behavior and once he is riled up it’s hard to calm him down. This could have to deal with stupidity in others and getting angry simply by that. So, someone getting one of his riddles correct can make him excited but a wrong answer gets him aggravated.

Being put in a situation where he doesn’t have the answer for something is never good for him. He needs to solve any problem placed in front of him so being forced into a situation where he can’t find the answer and made to feel stupid will possibly send him into a nervous breakdown if severe enough. Trying to lie will also stress him out a lot. He is incapable of flat out lying so times when he really needs to he gets anxious. He can act very narcissistic, however he truly isn’t one by standard definition. It is merely a defense mechanism to combat a fairly strong fear of failure. Being infatuated by his intelligence he enjoys telling riddles to prove how smart he is, much to the annoyance of those around him. He can also be awkward, unintentionally insulting, and selfish.
